Lovely Cobalt Blue Wedgwood Jasperware Barrel Shaped Milk Jug/Pitcher 1910/Later
Lovely Cobalt Blue Wedgwood Jasperware Barrel Shaped Milk Jug/Pitcher 1910/Later Presented is a very pleasing Wedgwood jug/pitcher. Perfect for milk at your breakfast table. This lovely piece is made in cobalt blue with white applied relief designs. A woman plays a lyre; the other leans pensively on a pillar. What a great item this is! It is classic elegance! A flowing wave-like pattern repeats around the bottom of the pitcher. A grapevine curves around the top. The surround of the handle and spout are embellished with laurel wreaths. A design of a Greco-Roman helmet and weapons hangs beneath the spout. The handle is nicely finished with a fern frond. The interior of the pitcher has a high glaze. Making this perfect for culinary use. Please scroll down to see our photographs. The underside of the pitcher is marked Wedgwood and Made in England. ... moreDating the piece to 1910 or later. Perhaps due to fading from light exposure. The sides of the pitcher are slightly different shades. This is clear in our photographs, but does not detract from the beauty of the piece. There is the tiniest chip to the rim. Halfway along the spout on one side. The chip is only 1mm and is not obvious, though we have indicated the chip in our photographs. There are some very fine firing lines on the decoration from the manufacturing process. These are barely noticeable and are not considered a flaw. This is such a pretty. Desirable piece! Height: 4 ½ inches. Diameter: 2 ¾ inches. Described by: LM. Please scroll down the page to see all of our photographs. Shipping: If you are an international buyer.
