The Stand is one of the finest I have sold in a very long time with a large fully figured Winged Cherub and nice pierced designs to hold the Bowl. The Stand came from the estate with this lovely Pink and White Victorian Cased glass Bowl. It fits quite well but I am not 100% if it is the original or not, please judge for yourself from the photos. The Stand is fully marked for the fine Period Silversmiths Standard Silver Plate Company Toronto which was out of business by 1902, so you know this beauty has to predate that. This beauty is a nice large and impressive size measuring overall 12" tall or the stand alone measures 9-1/4" tall and 3-7/8" across the top opening or the Bowl itself measures 10-1/2" across the top by 3-1/2" tall or 3-7/8" across the base. The glass bowl is one of the nicest that I have seen. It has fabulous Enamel Decorations, of leaves and floral detailing. It measures approx 12-1/2" diameter. It is in Excellent Condition- I would call it perfect albeit a most minor flat spot on the rim that appears to be a manufacturing nuance, not damage. I have looked at this with a magnifying glass and it is obvious after observing this first hand that it is not a chip but a flat spot somehow done during manufacture. Although extremely difficult to view, I have a pic of the area shown in my last pic. The frame is in Excellent Condition. Made of Quadruple Silver Plate by the Wilcox Silver-Plate Co. It stands approx 10-3/4" tall and approx 12-3/4" across. Both the decorated bowl and the Silver-Plate frame are gorgeous. The item comes direct from the collection of an area advance collector. This piece stands about 7 1/2" high to the top of the glass bowl portion and measures 10 1/4" across the top rim. The silverplate holder is very ornate, with the handles resembling a branch with birds resting on them. A bird pattern is also repeated just above the basefoot. The peg bottom glass bowl has a scalloped rim and a frosted flower(rose? and ribbon pattern. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There are a few white specks in the glass that are ... moreas made. Derby CT Quadrupleplate. It measures approx. 9 1/4" across and 5 1/4" high(10" high with the handles. It is in shabby chic condition with plate loss and scratches from loving use over the last 100 years or so. We found this history on the Derby Historical Organization's site online(great site! The Derby Silver Company was founded in 1872. And began operations on Shelton's Canal Street one year later. The company soon outgrew its quarters and constructed a larger building, which still stands on Bridge Street, Shelton, in 1877 near the Housatonic River, overlooking Derby. A number of additions were added in subsequent years. The original Canal Street building was razed when the railroad was built through Shelton in 1888. The company made toilet articles. Mirrors, combs, clocks, brushes, table and flatware, tea sets, children's cups, loving cups(trophies) candlesticks, fruit baskets, dishes, basically anything which was plated by or made of silver. 19th Century Victorian Brides' Basket. Marked James W. Tufts Boston Warranted, Quadruple Plate, with a mark 128 and a 6. There is an etched number of 25725 as well. This is a very fancy stand with elaborate decoration. The bowl is 10 1/2” Diameter in a light mauve color with ruffled and corrugated rim and very skillfully hand-painted in a floral pattern. There are two innocuous hairline cracks in the clear inside casing only. The white outside casing is unaffected(see red dots) Otherwise the Brides' Basket is in Excellent Condition with the silver plate and the metal unflawed. Beautiful Victorian antique brides basket. Silverplate frame with lovely aesthetic scrolling pattern on the sides and handle. Beaded edgeing. The art glass insert is milk glass with shades of purple on the ruffled border and clear glass edging. The silverplate is monogrammed- looks like G and HW and dated 1899. Made in Canada by the Toronto Silverplate Co. The basket measures 10 1/4" across the handle and 12 1/2" high. Very good condition with no chips or cracks. This is a beautiful Silver Plated Brides Basket/ Fruit Basket. There is an impressed stamp on the bottom which reads: Pairpoint Mfg. Co. New Bedford, Mass, Quadruple Plate, Pat. Jan. 31, 1893 and number 1249. This item is 120 years old. A lot of embossing on this basket. Looks like a branch with apples on the inside bottom which are raised on the inside and punched in on the underneath. Branches, leaves and apples make up the handle which is hinged. 4 feet on which to stand with a gallery above the feet. Looks like the four corners which are indented in have an engraved design on them. This Basket is in excellent condition showing no wear on the silver. It looks like it was not cleaned ... morefor some time as it is tarnished and the pictures will probably show up dark on the computer. I am leaving it as it is for the new owners to clean themselves. It measures 10 1/4 inches long, 8 1/2 inches wide and stands 3 inches high, 8 inches high with the handle up. Looks great just the way it is even if you didn't want to clean it, that's why I didn't touch it when I got it. Weight is 2 pounds unpacked. The Bowl which is a Lucius Cranberry Satin tightly ruffled bowl decorated in purple with white forget me knots the bowl measures 10-1/2" across and is in wonderful condition. One of the prettiest bowls I've seen in a while. The total height is 13" tall and is truly an elegant piece. The condition of the frame the silver appears to be in good condition with minimal plate loss. The bowl had been weighted on the bottom with plaster of paris and green felt was placed over it. Victorian Silver plated brides basket / calling card holder Meriden silver plate
Silver plate brides basket or perhaps a calling card holder. Piece has sort of bright cut floral pattern. I have included a photo of the Meriden mark. Piece measures about 6&1/2 inches wide at widest and stands about 4 inches tall. Piece is in very good used condition. There are a few dents and some slight scratches but overall pretty good. It's pretty dark. So it will be up to you whether it gets polished or not. Take a good look at the photos as piece is being sold as-is.

This listing is for a lovely romantic art nouveau brides basket that is a harder to find company. It was made by Queen City Silver Co. out of Cincinnati Ohio. Numbers on bottom indicate it was made in 1893. It is in excellent condition for age with no dents and just a couple minor small spots of plate loss on relief areas of flowers that just looks like reflection so you don't notice it. The very edge handle have a couple small spots of plate loss as well. But not enough to detract from the piece or grab your attention and I only therefore mention for accuracy. The art nouveau lines are lovely and the handle is just as decorative as the basket. It measures 8 3/4" high to top of handle that will stay in place in upright position-not too loose or tight-just right. Bowl area is 10" across. This brides basket is incredible and beautiful! PLEASE LOOK AT ALL 12 PICTURES)The basket sits on four rounded feet that are decorated with scrolls. Flowers and tiny leaves. Above that is a 1/4 inch band of scrolling work going all the way around. The mane band of the body has large campus leaves some round leaves, large flowers, small flowers and vines. Then there is another 1/4 inch band of scrolling work. The band that holds the glass bowl has a deep stripe pattern all the way around. The C shape connectors that connect the handle to the basket has flowers inside and out and round balls that connect it to the basket ring.The handle is a twisted handle. This silverplate basket has so much going on. It was made by Meriden, and marked on the bottom with an applied piece of silverplate Meriden silver plate Co. No 7017 and a lion holding a ... moretrophy in the middle, this mark dates it to(1869. There is no silver plate missing and no broken metal. This piece was sealed years ago to keep it from turning black, it can be removed by soaking in hot water over night then peal off. The glass fluted bowl was made by L.G.WRIGHT IN 1937. And it is marked with a M with a line in a circle.L.G. Wright Glass Company of New Martinsville, West Virginia, started selling glassware in 1937. Founder"Si" Wright contracted with Ohio and West Virginia glass factories to make popular pressed glass patterns, like Rose& Snow, Baltimore Pear, and Three Face, and opalescent patterns, like Daisy& Fern and Swirl. L.G. Wright items are marked with an underlined W in a circle. The bowl is a daisy and fern pattern it is opalescent and very ice blue. The glass is bright and the pattern is clear. The bowl is etched with a lovely bunch of flowers held together with a bow and a butterfly floats above. The outside of the basket is embossed with cherubs. Birds and floral sprays and is held up by a cherub seated on a pillow. I'm not sure why or how but there is a beautiful all over carnival glass like sheen, very pretty. Displays beautifully as is or could be polished or resilvered. There are 2 small worn spots on the rim of the basket that must be from where the original bowl sat and a small rough area on the base, see pic 4 at 3 o'clock. The design has birds, berries, flowers& leaves. It has four metal, openwork, feet and applied openwork design on each side of the handle. The handle is twisted on each side and then straight at the top. There is a mark underneath of two circles and all I can make out is" MERIDEN" and" QUADRUPLE" This holder measures approximately 9 1/2" to the top of the handle x 13" across the handle. The holder for the basket measures approximately 7 5/8" inside diameter at the top and 6 1/2" opening on the inside bottom. It is in good condition but the silverplate is worn from age and use. The decoration, at the base of ... morethe handle, has one spot(on one side) that should be connected and isn't. I think it was done when it was made because it is very tight. The base seems to have a slight slope to it but it is the same on both sides and it looks like it was made that way. The Basket Frame features very nice Grape and Vine designs with fancy feet and a lovely Bead pattern Bail Handle, which yes stays up on it's own for display. The Blue Opaline Glass Liner is the original to the frame and fits like a glove. The Outside is Satin Glass and the interior is glossy. The Basket is overall in very fine all original condition with a couple tiny splits in the frame which I am sure could easily be re-soldered and no dents or bends with the Glass Bowl showing wear scratches to the interior and some remnants of painted designs on the outside but no chips, cracks or repairs. USA Quadruple Plate#1006 Information: This is an antique silver plate quadruple plate brides basket made by Derby Silver Co. from Derby. CT USA. This beautiful vintage item after some research dates between 1872- 1933 which are the years this company was in business. This basket has hig sides deocrated with stars and floral designs. This has patina to include tarnishing and I am leaving it up to the buyer to polish if they desire. The center has a raised medallion with a victorian design that incorporates a heron or bird design with scrolling. There is a slight small approx 1 cm in size silverplate loss in the top plate near the raised medallion. The handle is in tact and quite detailed. The handles where they meet up with the body ... moreof this basket have a light colored string wrapped in the seam which I am not certain why it is there. The handle operates fine and properly. the string may be able to just be removed or left as is. The ornate design around this beautiful bowl are of tassels. Please see pictures. This has patina throughout but may clean up beautifully with some polishing. This has a detailed wider banded style handle that has string for unknown reasons near the hadle bases on both sides. I have up for sale an absolutely gorgeous vintage original circa 1880s 1890s Enameled Art Glass Ruffled Rim Brides Basket with Wilcox Quadruple Silver-Plate holder frame. The glass bowl is one of the nicest that I have seen. It has fabulous Enamel Decorations, of leaves and floral detailing. It measures approx 12-1/2" diameter. It is in Excellent Condition- I would call it perfect albeit a most minor flat spot on the rim that appears to be a manufacturing nuance, not damage. I have looked at this with a magnifying glass and it is obvious after observing this first hand that it is not a chip but a flat spot somehow done during manufacture. Although extremely difficult to view, I have a pic of the area shown in my last pic. The frame is in Excellent Condition. Made of Quadruple Silver Plate by the Wilcox Silver-Plate Co. Antique Cased Pink Glass Brides Bowl, Victorian Silver Plate Basket Holder Stand
For sale is an ornate Victorian probably-quadruple silver plated bride's basket/stand with an exquisite ruffled cased-glass bowl. The pink glass starts dark at the ruffle and flows down to a pale pink at the center. The underside is white. This unmarked bowl measures 10 1/4" across at its widest. 3 3/4" at its tallest, and 2 7/8" across the foot, which has a ground, indented pontil. It is in excellent antique condition: No cracks, breaks, chips, or repairs; just some bubbles, pimples, a couple of slightly rough areas where the glass was bent for the sections of low ruffles, and 3 tiny spots of white color in the pink, all signs of having been manufactured more than a hundred years ago. This is NOT one of the Fenton reproduction bowls. The stand is unmarked; it stands 7 1/4" at its highest, 7 4/8" at its widest, ... moreand 3 3/8" across the inner part where the bowl sits. The bowl sits way down into the basket portion. The holder has three ornate scroll work columns that connect the basket to the base. A beautiful dove is attached to the stand between the columns. The four lion's feet are also very ornate. The holder is in wonderful antique condition: The silver plate needs polishing, but it is mostly intact; there are several scratches and two shallow dents in the bottom rim of the stand and one small dent and several small scratches in the basket upper rim. Circa 1866 Victorian Simpson Hall Miller Silver Quadruple Plate Brides Basket Description. Circa 1866 Victorian Era silver quadruple plate brides basket by Simpson Hall& Miller Co. Wallingford, Ct. USA. Heavily engraved floral and geometric patterns including birds, a butterfly, cattails and wildflowers. Square footed base with raised ends making it rectangular in shape. One side of the swing handle needs soldering. When positioned properly the handle will remain standing but should be repaired. It looks like an easy fix. Large embossed flowers are applied on both sides. It is not dented and stands nicely. It weighs 5.6 pounds. 11" L. x 7" w. x 7" h. I've left the natural patina and not polished it. Antique silver plate brides basket. There are some dings/dents and grind marks on the bottom. I purchased this at a local antique auction. This one was with a group of other quadruple silver plate items. The material that it's made of is very soft and flexible. Bends very easily. The numbers on the bottom have been rubbed away. I can see a crown and the word"plate" with the number 3 and can't make out the other numbers. Please view the photos closely and judge for yourself as they are part of the description. RARE Victorian French GREEN OPALINE Glass SILVER PLATE Brides Basket Bowl ROSES, This is a rare circa 1890 French green Opaline glass bowl in the original silver plated repousse basket. The basket features filigree roses with branch and leaf design and three scroll feet. The handle has a central flower and is attached tightly. There are no breaks or repairs with just a slight bend to the metal which I did not try to straighten. The French Opaline glass bowl is a rare bell shape and has no chips cracks or repairs. Measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and about 6 inches tall including the handle. This is a beautiful victorian piece. See my other opaline listings and combine your shipping costs. I take great care in packing every item and have been shipping chandeliers worldwide for over 10 years. I purchase bubble wrap. I managed to soak this basket to dissolve this thick residue, and reveal it's true motif(if you are interested in viewing photos of this piece's original condition, I would be more that happy to enclose photos) There is also an small area to the inner top bowl surface that has cracks(see photos#7& 8 for this detail) however, poses no issue to fall apart, and lastly, a ding at the underside rim(see photo#9) and lastly, there at the underside base shows signs of repair(see photo#12 for this detail) The glass basket bowl hides the cracks to the inner bowl area extremely well! VICTORIAN MIDDLETOWN SILVER PLATE CO. - PINK CASED GLASS BRIDES BOWL or BASKET
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian Berry or Fruit Bowl. Also known as a Brides Basket or Brides Bowl or Victorian Centerpiece bowl. This bowl is made from a beautiful rose or pink opaline-type glass cased with white glass and edged with gold or yellow translucent glass. This glass is sometimes referred to as peachblow but it is not. The edge of the bowl is ruffled and crimped. The bowl measures about 10" across at the widest and about 6" across at the narrow. It stands about 4" tall. The base of the bowl is 4.25" across at the foot. The bowl sits in a gorgeous silver plated frame made by the Middletown Plate Co. This frame is in wonderful condition. With almost no loss to the plate that I can see. There is residue from old lacquer and some light tarnish, but it should polish up nicely. The frame for this piece is ... morespectacular. It encompasses an apple at the top, cherries with stems and grapes. The detail on this is so finely done that it is a work of art in itself. The frame stands about 14.5" tall and is about 8.5" wide. The span between the handle(s) is about 7.5" approximately 3" up from the base. The base itself is 4.5" wide at the opening. I do not know if the bowl is original to the base as there is some play in the fit, but it does fit perfectly into the frame and when in place it sits well into the base so that it looks like a perfect match. The elaborate frame is a perfect compliment to the understated, but beautiful bowl. There is no damage at all to the glass; no chips, cracks breaks or repairs. The frame is clearly marked"Middletown Plate Co. and"Quadruple Plate" with the number 765 impressed. It is also stamped"Hard White Metal" Victorian art glass bowls such as this were often paired with elaborate brides basket frames(as they are called today) made by companies such as Meriden. Wilcox, James Tufts, Derby or Webster. I do not know who the maker of the bowl is. This could be a piece by Thomas Webb or one of the famous makers of

Also known as a Brides Basket or Brides Bowl or Victorian Centerpiece bowl. This bowl is made from a beautiful cased milky-white opaline-type glass cased with sky blue glass and hand-painted decoration of enamel. The enamel is wonderfully executed with flowers and leaves and highlights of gold. The enamel is in excellent condition. The edge of the bowl is ruffled. The silverplate is unmarked- ... moreand has a cherub face on either side of the bowl. The handle has a flower in the center. There is plate loss, to be expected with its age. The bowl measures about 8 1/2" long and 6" wide on the ends- 5 3/4" high. The base of the bowl is 4 1/8" across. There are no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs to the bowl- it is simply stunning. Victorian Meriden Co Silver Plate Brides Basket w/ Figural Feet & Cased Bowl
Up for auction is a fantastic victorian silver plate figural brides basket by meridan silverplate co. No 7015 with a gorgeous cased bowl which is also marked with the numbers 1023/9 700. Silverplate basket is in excellent condition. Bowl does have an age crack which can be seen from the inside only. The crack is long and at one point in time some dark spots formed under the inside surface near it. There is also four figural feet on the silverplate bowl. This is part of an estate and the bowl& basket have been together a very long time. The crack can only be seen on the inside not from the outside. It can also be seen on outside bottom of bowl. Both pieces look beautiful together. Basket overall measures 13" high x 11" across.

There is a monogrammed s on one side of the base which can be seen in the pictures. It's a beautiful stand from the late 1800's. It is in good condition- it has some tarnish. Discoloration, light scratches and scuffs from use, there is one small dent in the platter portion(please see pictures) along with some minor scratches and marks. Up for auction is a lovely Victorian cake stand or basket by Wilcox Silver Plate Co in Quadruple Plate standing 13 inches tall to the top of the finial. 7.75 inches ... moretall to the rim and 9.75 inches wide. There are no monograms or dents. The basket features the traditional silver plate finish and the"Butler Finish" a softer silver plate finish used to replicate years of polishing by a butler. Together they creating a striking design. The top of the basket is supported by a ladies hand with detailed graceful fingers. There may be a ring on the middle finger or it could be a repair but it looks more like a ring so please take a close look. The handle features a calla lily with butterfly and the design is repeated on either side of the basket.There is a repair to the base as shown in picture 2 and a close up in one of the other pictures. A victorian silverplate brides basket bowl with pivoting handle. Made by the Meriden Company of Meriden Connecticut. Unpolished, No plating loss. No personal monogram present. Marked on the bottom with the traditional makers mark“Meriden B. Company. Quadruple Plate, 1887” Dates to the early 1900’s. Measures a full 10 inches in diameter. 4 3/4 inch base diameter, 5 1/4 inches to top rim and 12 1/2 inches to top of the handle. Condition is great as there are NO chips. Cracks, plating loss or repairs present, there is scratches in the well of the bowl and rim(see close-up photo) We accept PayPal. Visa and Master Card payments for shipping purchases.
