On the base is James Tufts quadruple plate. Boston, 2763, and the star logo with the T in the middle. It has lots of flowers, swirls, filigree, and etchings on the basket. QUADRUPLE PLATE, BOSTON, WARRANTED, 4302. The basket measures 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" at the widest sections. The handle measures 6 1/2" tall from the flat square section of the basket to the center of the handle. The whole thing measures about 7 1/2" to 8" tall from the bottom feet to the top of the handle. An antique. James W Tufts Quadruple Plate, Bride's Basket, with fine, citrine-colored bowl and ornate frame. The Bride's Basket, 11" long by 6" high with bowl 8" in diameter and 3 1/2" high. Is highly ornamental with footed base.there is a repair on one of the side swags. The bowl is hard to describe color wise, as there is a pink hue to the glass that does not show up in the photos.the bubbles are felt on the inside of the glass. Up for bid is a James Tufts Quadruple Plate Footed Floral Bridal Basket. Pattern number#2768, circa 1875-1915. I'm not too sure of the exact date on this piece, but from what I've researched, James Tufts began manufacturing Silver Plate Hollowware in 1875, and continued until his death in 1902. The company survived another 13 years, finally going out of business in 1915. This basket is a beautiful example of the fine and detailed work they did. It's got a twisted rope style handle. Scalloped edging, and is engraved with a multitude of various flowers- roses, Lily-of-the-Valley, sunflowers, thistle, poppies, Callalilies, pansies, dahlias, and mums. There are so many different flowers, that every time I look at the basket, I find a new one. The basket measures approx 9.5" in diameter. 3.5" high from foot to the rim and ... more8.5" high from foot to the top of the handle. It's in really great condition. With no real visible tarnishing. There does appear to be some scuff marks, but on closer examination, it's just the very fine engraving work on the flowers. Incredible! If you have any questions. James Tufts floral paisley fan brides basket #2763 quadruple silver plate Boston
For auction is an unusual silver-plated metal"bride's basket" by the James W. Tufts company of Boston. Massachussetts. It is square-shaped with rounded corners, and has what looks to me like a floral or paisley fan scrolled engraved design on top and a"screen" pattern on the underside. It measures 8 7/16 inches each side and is about 8 1/2 inches high; with the handle at full height it is about 10 inches high. The maker's mark on the bottom indicates it is quadruple plated and warranted. I don't know much about it, I am selling this for a neighbor who told me it was in his house when he bought it.Could be very old(some JW Tufts pieces date to the 19th century) but I do not know for sure. It has some plate loss on one side of the basket and on the handle as well so condition is not perfect, but typical of something ... morereally old. Tufts footed circular plate or bowl measures 3 in high and across it is approx. 9 1/2 inches and the handle rises in the center to 5 1/2 inches when in raised position. The handle is very well attached at both sides On the bottom it has the James W. Tufts Boston info shown in the item's title with"Warranted Quadruple Plate" and the number 2768. What a stunning piece for a center piece on any table. The flowers included are a large cone flower. Wild roses, a large rose, daisies, sunflowers and pansies. The other designs are so beautifully etched in to blend with the floral design. The bowl/plate does not sit squarely on a table- it seems to slope to one side.

A gorgeous quadruple silverplate James Tufts brides basket with cased fluted rose/pink colored dish. Frame has one foot(included) which has come loose and needs to be soldered back on. Otherwise in great condition. Has many swirls, engraving and braided handle. The feet have a floral design of 3 flowers and on the sides are two dragons facing each other. Number 158 marked on the bottom and also 4250. Frame has hanger for spoon, the bowl is in perfect condition, no chips or cracks. the frame measures 15" tall, 10 1/4" at the widest point.

It was made by the James W. Tufts Company(1875-1891) of Boston in"Quadruple Plate" It has stock number 2227. It is in the shape of a two spouted creamer. But it has a twisted handle like a sugar basket. It is chased on both sides with sprigs of flowers and small berries. The handle was apparently re-attached with silver solder on one side. It is otherwise in very nice condition. It is 4 1/2" to the top of the handle and 3 1/2" spout to spout. Now with FREE SHIPPING with tracking in the USA.
