Antique Hand-Engraved Wilcox Silver Pl Basket Stag/Deer Presented is an antique silverplated basket made and stamped by the Wilcox Silver Plate Company. Quadruple plate. The handle of the basket features the figure of a stag/deer; there are also two pheasant figures on the edge of the basket. The bowl of the basket features a mostly hand-engraved leaf design. There is wear to the plating. Especially on the handle(where much of the base metal is showing through) Please see our photos below and use them as your guide. This basket was a presentation piece and has an engraved message in the center. Which(as far as I can make it out) says, Presented to Mr. Mrs. C. F. Prentiss by Mr. Mrs. A. B. Birdick. The bowl of the basket was pushed down at some point. So it is now slightly off-center and no longer completely symmetrical. Antique Art Nouveau Aesthetic Wilcox Water Lily Silver Plate Brides Basket
A beautiful brides basket from American Silver Plated brides basket or bread basket from the turn of the century. Quadruple silver plate with embossed water lilies in the base of the basket. Handled and claw footed. Lovely scalloped embossed edging to both the bowl and the base. Measures 9.25" in diameter and stands 2.75" tall without the handle up. The condition is excellent for age I would say. There a couple spots of pitting in the raised embossed water lilies. She needs an additional and more detailed cleaning but she sure looks great. The claw feet are not flush with the table but it does not affect the stability of the piece. Does NOT wobble on the table. Please see photos as they are the best description I can give. Antique Victorian Pickle Castor Wilcox Silver Plate Co. This beautiful Victorian Pickle Caster measures 11 inches tall from base to top of ornate handle. The cube glass jar measures 4.5 inches without the lid and 6.25 inches with the lid. The base has a floral pattern completely around the base. On top of the jar is a silver plated lid with a flower inside of a thick circle. The handle is also decorated with a sliver flower at the top and leaves on the handle on either side of the flower. It has a pretty grape and leaf border around the edge of the basket as well as a bunch of grapes dangling from the top of the handle. The basket has a pedestal base which gives it a nice. Elegant look. Bridal baskets fell out of favor right after the turn of the century. So pieces like this are true antiques. This is a beautiful Silverplate Bride's Basket. Marked on the bottom: Quadruple Plate; Wilcox Silverplate Co. Meriden. Conn. 163 3 1/2(see photo#8) It stands approximately 12 1/2" tall to the tip of the handle and is 10" across the bowl portion. The inside of the bowl has a beautiful etched pattern of 4 birds(appear to be hummingbirds) over an arrangement of flowers and leaves with a little bee just to the left of each bird. The bowl rim is trimmed with a bell shaped pattern that has texture to it. Handle folds down and the top center has an open ring area for easy carrying that has 3 flower buds center top. The silver looks nice and shiny with only minor areas of tarnish that I'm sure will clean off easily. Condition is excellent.
