Antique Footed Brides Basket from late 1800's when fb rogers was in Taunton. Ma. This is a fine piece with some scratches due it being used and old. There is no loss of silver plate just some tarnish that needs to be worked on if the new owner chooses. I like to see a little patina left to show it's age! If you can't see the maker's mark in the last picture it is Trademark 18(crown) 83 F.B.ROGERSSILVERCO Taunton,Ma. Quadruple and 0861.9 1/2" across.All of the joints that have been soldered are original and intact! The handle stands up by itself and is beautiful in the light. The feet are pierced with a finely made pattern that shows the kind of fine workmanship in that day and age. The edge is a rope pattern. Victorian Rogers Smith Co Meriden Silverplate Mt. Washington Glass Brides Basket
This lovely Silverplate and Enameled Art Glass Brides Basket measure about 10-5/8" in diameter and 3-3/8" tall when assembled. The Silverplate bottom has a bit of tarnish and maybe missing a handle. The mount was produced by Rogers. Smith& Co. around during the last quarter of the 19th century. The company was out of business by'04. We believe the basket was produced by Mt. Washington Glass co. It is unsigned. The glass has some enamel loss, but is largely in very nice condition with no chips or cracks. The bottom of the bowl does have a polished pontil as would be expected.

Antique Rogers& Bros. Silver Plate Cake Brides Basket C.1874 Cherubs Small darkened area. Lacquer residue. Lacquer residue. For your consideration is this spectacular silver plate cake brides basket made by Rogers& Bros. Circa 1874. This impressive basket stands a whopping 16" tall to the top of the handle and measures 10" square. The design elements are amazing, with rounded shell shaped corners, ornate etching and a raised center circle with a house and mountain motif. The pedestal base is just beautiful with back to back cherubs on a heart shape frame and a bottom floral band. There are no dings/dents or noticeable silver loss other than a few spots on the underside, but they do not show. The basket was once protected with a lacquer coat, however, there are just some orange/brown traces left in a few spots, see last 2 ... morepictures. A bit more polishing should remove it. The only issue to mention is if you pull the handle on 1 side it will come completely out, otherwise left alone, it does stay in place and works well. Basket is a 10.5 x 7.5 rectangle rounded on 2 ends. Sculptural cutouts of Cherubs in trees with baskets picking cherries, beautiful detail. Inside bottom has a circle of leaves with a striped cat head and paws coming out of the middle. Very hard to see, almost missed it. Silverplate is in very good condition with loss of plating in a small spot on top of curved edge, last photo. Handle has 3D rose on top. Fancy triangular feet are decorated with scrolls, flowers, and beading. Basket is substantial, weighs almost 2 1/2 lbs. Measures 3" tall from bottom to edge, 10" tall to top of handle. This is a brides wedding basket made of silver plate. Made by Rogers and Smith New Haven Connecticut between 1865-1873. It is 12.5 inches long and 8.5 inches wide. It is 3 1/2 inches tall. The handle is 8 1/2 inches tall. It is a beautiful piece even though it has some worn spots inside the basket. It is stamped with the numbers 4567 and I can find no reference to these numbers. Rogers, Smith & Co. New Haven, Conn. Silver Plate Brides Basket, 1862-1877
This beautiful silver plate Bride or Fruit Basket. 1868 was manufactured by Rogers, Smith& Co. in New Haven Connecticut. The mark indicates that it was made between 1862-1877. This large oval basket measures 11 3/4" by 8 3/4" and stands 9" tall when the handle is up. The edges of the basket have raised detailed flowers that is repeated on the edges of the oval foot. The interior of the basket has a cut-out rim. Is raised in the center, and has carved flowers and fruit bouquets. There are a few light scratches consistent with it's age. But no dings or dents to otherwise mar it's beauty.

This fine antique Aesthetic Victorian circa 1870s pedestal footed cake or brides basket by Rogers& Bro. of Waterbury, CT. This silverplate basket is ornately decorated on the inside of the basket with gorgeous chased Hummingbirds among the beautiful meadow flowers. The center of the basket has a village scene on one half of the medallion and a lovely swallow type bird on the other half. The rim is also very ornately adorned with squirrels, birds, beetles, butterflies, mice and bees with many flowers. I have loaded many photos as part of the description and to show the detail. The basket measures 8 1/4" in diameter and stands 4" off the table not including the ornate folding handle. ... moreIt is about 9" tall with the hinged handle raised. I lightly polished this basket and there is some minor silver loss to the very bottom that does not show. There is also a very tiny ding to the rim on both sides where the handle has dropped from use on each side. All and all this cake basket is in very nice well cared for estate condition and the silver craftsmanship is exquisite. The bottom is marked with the makers mark for Roger& Bro. This firm was established in 1858 at Waterbury, CT. by Asa Jr. and Simeon Rogers. They first produced primarily flatware until 1874 and then began producing some of the best and most ornate hollowware such as this basket. They were one of the first firms to join the International Silver Company in 1898. This would make a fabulous center fruit bowl or can be used as intended back 140 years ago to serve pastries and cakes. Please view photos to further aid in description.
