The glass bowl is one of the nicest that I have seen. It has fabulous Enamel Decorations, of leaves and floral detailing. It measures approx 12-1/2" diameter. It is in Excellent Condition- I would call it perfect albeit a most minor flat spot on the rim that appears to be a manufacturing nuance, not damage. I have looked at this with a magnifying glass and it is obvious after observing this first hand that it is not a chip but a flat spot somehow done during manufacture. Although extremely difficult to view, I have a pic of the area shown in my last pic. The frame is in Excellent Condition. Made of Quadruple Silver Plate by the Wilcox Silver-Plate Co. It stands approx 10-3/4" tall and approx 12-3/4" across. Both the decorated bowl and the Silver-Plate frame are gorgeous. The item comes direct from the collection of an area advance collector. Sold to me when settling her estate. The underside of the bowl bears a sticker that either she attached or was the sale price back in the day. The glass bowl will be packaged and shipped in a separate parcel from the silver plate frame in order to assure as best one can safe delivery. This is a fantastic silver plated huge bride's basket. There is no makers mark. It has floral engraving within the basket and raised thick art nouveau trim around the bowl and handle. The bale is attached with fine quality tube and pin method. It has a pedestal base. There are two areas where the plating is worn. See photos, and two other small spots. There is one scratch. The outside is almost perfect, overall is so beautiful the flaws don't interfere. It measures 12" outside edge to edge and 4" outside height, outside height with bale up is 10" Inside depth of basket is 2" I do not accept returns or give refunds. The basket was made by Wilcox Silverplate Co. And it is made of Quadruple Silverplate in Meriden, Conn. Wilcox started making silverplate items in 1865, and they continued until they joined with Internation Silver in 1898. The basket has a scalloped edge, and around that edge is a scroll, rose, and leaf pattern. In the center of the basket is an ornately etched bird nest, and the top of the handle is monogrammed CMB. The basket has a four-footed base, and each leg has a Art Nouveau motif floral pattern. The model# 4751 basket measures 10 1/4" wide by 9 1/2" long by 5 1/2" tall. The basket stands about 2 inches tall to the rim and 8.5 inches tall to the top of the handle and 12.5 inches wide measuring corner to corner. The design is fantastic featuring the butler finish on the center of the bowl giving it a softer silver plate finish and embossed roses and etching with a wide scroll border. There is no monograms or dents and the silver plat is in good condition with a few spots of missing plate on the center of the basket as shown. insurance is included in the cost of shipping. This listing is for a lovely romantic art nouveau brides basket that is a harder to find company. It was made by Queen City Silver Co. out of Cincinnati Ohio. Numbers on bottom indicate it was made in 1893. It is in excellent condition for age with no dents and just a couple minor small spots of plate loss on relief areas of flowers that just looks like reflection so you don't notice it. The very edge handle have a couple small spots of plate loss as well. But not enough to detract from the piece or grab your attention and I only therefore mention for accuracy. The art nouveau lines are lovely and the handle is just as decorative as the basket. Antique Art Nouveau Aesthetic Wilcox Water Lily Silver Plate Brides Basket
A beautiful brides basket from American Silver Plated brides basket or bread basket from the turn of the century. Quadruple silver plate with embossed water lilies in the base of the basket. Handled and claw footed. Lovely scalloped embossed edging to both the bowl and the base. Measures 9.25" in diameter and stands 2.75" tall without the handle up. The condition is excellent for age I would say. There a couple spots of pitting in the raised embossed water lilies. She needs an additional and more detailed cleaning but she sure looks great. The claw feet are not flush with the table but it does not affect the stability of the piece. Does NOT wobble on the table. Please see photos as they are the best description I can give. The color is showing up a little too dark in my photos- the blue is a very soft blue. Ruffled rim has a very narrow crest. There is a polished pontil mark on bottom. Glass bowl measures 8 3/4" x 8 7/8" across. The rim stands 3 1/4" tall at highest point. Footed silverplate basket stand features flourishes. Florals and leaves on ring and feet. The design on the sides looks like cherries and leaves. Marked Stevens Silver Co. Portland ME Quadruple Plate- company was active in late 1890's. Later became Colonial Silver Co. Stands just over 8 1/2" tall. Overall width is approximately 8" across. I see a few stretched air bubbles and a couple ... morevery tiny dark specks in glass bowl. No chips or cracks found. I have up for sale an absolutely gorgeous vintage original circa 1880s 1890s Enameled Art Glass Ruffled Rim Brides Basket with Wilcox Quadruple Silver-Plate holder frame. The glass bowl is one of the nicest that I have seen. It has fabulous Enamel Decorations, of leaves and floral detailing. It measures approx 12-1/2" diameter. It is in Excellent Condition- I would call it perfect albeit a most minor flat spot on the rim that appears to be a manufacturing nuance, not damage. I have looked at this with a magnifying glass and it is obvious after observing this first hand that it is not a chip but a flat spot somehow done during manufacture. This listing is for a Beautiful ART NOUVEAU Silver Plate Brides BASKET/ Center Piece. Circa 1890. The basket has the makers marks for WILLIAM BRIGGS& Co. which located in SHEFFIELD England- this silversmith was active at Wentworth Plate Works. 35 Andrew St. Wickes(1875-1922) apparently after 1900 their mark included the word Sheffield. The Basket is in very good to excellent condition with no damage. NO monograms and no signs of silver wear through. The basket is nice and sturdy with a weight of approximately 745 grams and measures approximately 10 1/2 inches across the handle by 3 1/4 inches to the edge of the bowl or approximately 8 3/4 inches to the top of the handle when in the up right position. Exceptional Victorian Art Glass Brides Basket w Tufts Silverplated Holder
An original unusual and I believe quite rare antique. Late19th century, victorian art glass brides basket featuring a heavy and high quality silverplated frame marked by James W Tufts Boston Massachusetts. The basket itself is of cased glass with a most unusual treatment of having a band of opalescent hobnails near its ruffled edge with the interior shading from a white to a red near the edge similar to that of Wheeling Peachblow. The art glass basket is free blown and has a pontil marked base and it measures approximately 9 1/2" in diameter. The silver plated frame measures 12" tall to the top of the handle. Brides Basket Art glass Ruffled top Cranberry on Silverplate stand
Beautiful silverplate bride's basket base with Cranberry and white art glass dish measuring 11 3/8" wide and 7 1/2" tall. The glass dish is attached with a silverplate bolt that fastens to the silverplate stand. The feet are very decorative. I can not find a makers mark on the silverplate. Offered for auction is this absolutely outstanding and very rare Mary Gregory Blue Glass Bottom Footed Brides Basket. I consider this piece to be in very good to excellent condition throughout. It has been well taken care of. No damage on basket. Has very slight minimal antique wear throughout. Slight minor scratch on rim near right side handle bracket. In center of piece is a beautiful thick blue glass with a Mary Gregory scene of a girl feeding birds. Glass and scene are in very good to excellent condition. No cracks or chips. Basket is made of a heavy white metal with a quadruple silver overlay. Has Middletown Plate Co. stamp on back. It is slightly worn. Also stamped"1850. WHITE METAL" as seen in photos. The holder is quadruple silver plating by Forbes Silver Co. The bowl is 10” wide x 3-3/4” tall. The holder is 11” tall x 10” wide. The holder is marked with Forbes’ hallmark. There is wear to the glass from the holder and age. There is wear and loss to the enamel work as well. There is some loss of silver to the holder as well as tarnish and patina. There are no cracks or chips. There are surface scratches. Please.
