The glass bowl is one of the nicest that I have seen. It has fabulous Enamel Decorations, of leaves and floral detailing. It measures approx 12-1/2" diameter. It is in Excellent Condition- I would call it perfect albeit a most minor flat spot on the rim that appears to be a manufacturing nuance, not damage. I have looked at this with a magnifying glass and it is obvious after observing this first hand that it is not a chip but a flat spot somehow done during manufacture. Although extremely difficult to view, I have a pic of the area shown in my last pic. The frame is in Excellent Condition. Made of Quadruple Silver Plate by the Wilcox Silver-Plate Co. It stands approx 10-3/4" tall and approx 12-3/4" across. Both the decorated bowl and the Silver-Plate frame are gorgeous. The item comes direct from the collection of an area advance collector. Sold to me when settling her estate. The underside of the bowl bears a sticker that either she attached or was the sale price back in the day. The glass bowl will be packaged and shipped in a separate parcel from the silver plate frame in order to assure as best one can safe delivery. Beautiful Victorian antique brides basket. Silverplate frame with lovely aesthetic scrolling pattern on the sides and handle. Beaded edgeing. The art glass insert is milk glass with shades of purple on the ruffled border and clear glass edging. The silverplate is monogrammed- looks like G and HW and dated 1899. Made in Canada by the Toronto Silverplate Co. The basket measures 10 1/4" across the handle and 12 1/2" high. Very good condition with no chips or cracks. Minor age appropriate surface polishing scratches on the silverplate. I will be happy to give shipping quotes.

We are pleased to present this Victorian era Bride's Basket for your consideration. Made of Silverplate. The piece features an unusual Crowned Heads decoration around its ornate rim. The handle that once went over the top of this ... morepiece is missing(the holes where it connected are still visible) But the remaining Fruit Basket remains a charming and attention grabbing piece with a one-of-a-kind look. The Basket is 3-3/4 inches high and about 12-1/2 inches in diameter. Measured at the rim. The bottom of the base is 4-5/8 inches in diameter, and the Basket weighs 1 pound 13 ounces. There are two hand written marks etched into the finish. On the bottom, in the center, is what appears to be the numbers 247. To the side of the center section is another marking that reads Q5741. We have not been able to determine the manufacturer of this piece. The Basket has been polished and is quite shiny. But small areas of patina remain along with a few small spots of verdigris. Some light surface wear is found, but less than might be expected on a piece of this age. Other than the missing handle, there is no damage or repairs, and we rate the overall condition as very good(see pictures) This is a fantastic piece of Victorian Silverplate. The basket was made by Wilcox Silverplate Co. And it is made of Quadruple Silverplate in Meriden, Conn. Wilcox started making silverplate items in 1865, and they continued until they joined with Internation Silver in 1898. The basket has a scalloped edge, and around that edge is a scroll, rose, and leaf pattern. In the center of the basket is an ornately etched bird nest, and the top of the handle is monogrammed CMB. This basket is an early Aesthetic Victorian era Basket produced and plated by the Reed& Barton silversmiths of Taunton. Mass. The silver craftsmanship is excellent. This basket is supper ornate in ornamentation and has gorgeous molded figural elements. Including three winged heads on the pedestal base where it meets the bowl and curled acanthus leaf feet attached to the pedestal base with a central spire. There is an outstretched Fox and bird prey on the handle. The interior of the bowl is adorned with deep chased birds on an Oak and acorn branch that is entwined with Grape vines with clusters of grapes. There are ... morealso chased leaves on the pedestal base and four large spires pointing down from the ribbed edge of the bowl. This basket stands approx 7" in height with the handle down and 13" with the handle extended. It is 10" in diameter and stands on an ornate 5" pedestal base. The underside is marked for Reed& Barton with a Patent date of 1871 for the ornamentation above the Reed& Barton stamp. There are no breaks or repairs. There are some scratches from use and some slight silver loss to be expected from age. There is also some remnants of an old type paste silver polish. There are 2 lovely alternating scen es of a wom a n& child together& another of two children playing musi cal instruments on the top part of the basket. The bottom pedestal has alternating s cenes of what appears to be a young man& women. The bowl is a hexagon s hape and dips down somewhat where the handles me et the top of the bowl. I do believe it was mad e this way. It does have a few places of minor pit ting which are hard to see. Meas ures approx: 9" tall to the top of the han dle. The basket is 6" across at top of opening and the bottom pedestal is 4" across. It is approx: 4 1/2" from the top of the basket ... moreto the top of the handle. I am not sure what was in the bottom but I am going to leave up to the buyer to polish( although it is nice with the patina just as it is) or try to remove what i s in the bottom. This beautiful plate(or basket) is etched with a floral rose design. This style plate on a pedestal has been referred to as a Wedding Plate. Handled Brides Basket, Bridal Basket, Cake Basket, Calling Card Tray and a Brides Calling Card Basket. The mark on the bottom is a full circle and reads: Quadruple Plate, Wilcox Silverplate Co, Meriden, Conn and the#2772(I believe, the# is difficult to read) It measures approx 9" wide at the top, the plate is 5" tall, 11.5" to the top of the handle and 5.25" across the bottom of the base. The Wilcox Silver Plate Co. started in 1867. The company trademark(crossed hammers in full circle) remained in use through the acquisition of Parker& Casper Co. in 1869 and the formation of the International Silver Co. in 1898. Gorgeous 19th Century Bridal Brides Basket, Antique Glass HP Bowl, Silverplate
Up for sale is a beautiful Victorian 19th century bride's basket with hand-painted cased glass fluted bowl and quadruple silverplated holder with ornate handle. The color on the upside of the bowl begins with a clear edge then flows from dark rose to pale pink and very pale pink in the center. Yellow dots. Flowers, and scrollwork and blue and white flowers are all handpainted: You can feel the depth of the paint, which is in very good condition. Silver color leaves also grace the bowl, but some of this paint seems to have faded. I see no chips or cracks in the glass bowl. There are minute spots of what looks like ash on the all-white bottom; there is also a bubble in the finish of the upside that looks and feels a bit like a pimple and is about the size of a pencil eraser; these are from the manufacturing process done more than one hundred ... moreyears ago. The quadruple silverplated basket was made by the New Amsterdam Silver Co. and has the number 2971 engraved in the bottom; the number 5446-x is etched into the bottom. The basket is in good condition but is in need of polishing. The base appears to have most of its silverplate intact with the exception of the inside of the base where the bowl sits; some parts of this have a greenish cast. The handle seems to have some silverplate loss as well as some minute pitting. All in all this is a wonderful piece for something that could very easily be 115 years old. Bowl is 11" in diameter at its widest. 3" high, and 3 1/2" across the base. Holder is 12 1/2" at its widest and 13" high. Please ask questions. For sale is an elegant Victorian period ornate-handled quadruple silver plated brides basket holder with a clear fancy glass bowl. The basket is in good condition: There are no dents or damage. Other than some scratches where the bowl and basket have been in contact for more than a hundred years. The silver plate seems to be all there; it's tarnished but should polish up well. The basket is 9" high and 9 1/4" at its widest. The bowl has an intricate design, including four rows of diamond shapes that have a gold cast to them. The bowl is 8" across and is in excellent condition: No chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs. Inside the bowl behind the top row of gold diamonds looks like hard water stains; however it's all the way around, so it I believe it must have been part of the manufacturing process. This charming bride's basket is quadruple silver plate. Number 2066, from Barbour Silver Co, Hartford CT, circa 1890s. The mark indicates that this basket was made between 1899-1898, prior to Barbour Silver Company joining the International Silver Co around 1900. The basket has molded cherries on a branch, with a highly stylized handle and four dainty feet. It is 5 1/2" round, and 4 1/2" high including the handle. This basket is in excellent condition considering it's age. Designed in the nature of the 1800's Aesthetic Movement, was made by the Meriden Britannia Company and it is signed, Meriden B. Company" on the bottom edge along with a number 241. The Early American Pressed Glass bowl that must have been designed for this stand precisely(or the stand for the bowl) is a clear glass, rounded canted straight sides with indentations on four sides.which line up with the indentations in the base of the stand. I do not know who the maker of the bowl was and the design appears to be some variation of a waffle or cane pattern with a waffle bottom. Ca 1900 This little basket comes out of an estate. The basket sits on four claw and ball feet and has a swing handle. The glass insert has iridescence to it. The basket measures 4 3/4" in diameter and 4 3/8" high including the handle. The glass bowl measures 4 3/4" in diameter and 1 3/4" deep. There are no makers marks. Maker is Wilcox, an early mark, c1880 Aesthetic ... moremovement era. Border rim on basket is beautifully engraved with birds, dragonflies, flowers and nudes figures and cherubs, center of base is a full figure cherub holding what looks like a hand mirror. This piece has a few issues. First 2 of the legs have separated from the spacer(I don't' know exactly how to describe that piece see the last 2 photos) causing the spacer to be crooked(please see photos 7 thru 10) the handle on 1 side is bent at the bottom, and about 1" of the flat rim overlay over the handle has separated from handle proper, some wear to the plating in spots. Because of the bend in the handle the handle does not fold down, Sold as"In Found Condition" APPROXIMATE DIMENSIONS: about 14" tall to top of handle. All you can say is WOW offered for sale is a RARE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BRIDES BASKET HOLDER from the late 1800's. The silverplated frame measures 11 inches wide and is 11 inches tall to the top of the handle. The area where the foot rim of the bowl would sit measures 4 inches across not including the flared rim which would be 4& 3/4 inches across. The frame made by the Derby Silver Company. The has a little bit of everything going on. It has 2 cherubs supporting the handle. There are 2 daisy as well as leaves and cherries. The silverplate looks to be worn. There is some slight bending to the ruffled plate attached to the bun feet. There is 3 inch seam split where the bottom plate attaches to the pedestal very minor and could be repaired. There is leaf that came off the front which we have and can be reattached. There is some scratching ... morewhere the bowl sits.
