From my mother’s display cabinet. I am unsure of this pierced silver basket's original function but at 4" long x 3” wide, it works perfectly as an elegant little business card holder! While the maker is unknown, the underside is clearly hallmarked EPNS and MADE IN ENGLAND. Based on research, it dates to early 1900’s and is in good estate condition with no cracks or breaks or flaws in the openwork however there is some loss of plate commensurate with age. Antique Pierced silver, footed basket/bowl *1931* Gorgeous! Mint condition!
This is a beautiful silver footed bowl or basket with handle and solid red glass liner. I am not sure who the maker is(Grandma thought it was German in origin) The only mark on it is a date of 1931 on the bottom. I do not think it is sterling as it is not labeled as such. The outer silver basket is a highly pierced/cut pattern with a scalloped rim and fancy wrapped handle. The original glass liner has a great red color. No chips or cracks. I measures 4 1/2" diameter. 7" tall to top of handle, 4" tall to rim of basket. Flat rate shipping to the USA. International buyers will receive invoice with shipping cost. Vintage Continental Silver Co NY USA Pierced Silverplate Basket 10.25" # 2579
This is a beautiful pierced basket from Continental Silver Co. It is marked on the bottom with the company name and Silverplate as well as the number 2579. The logo dates it to 1920-1950. It has a very art deco feel with the curved arabesque lines and ornate details in the filigree around the basket. The handle also has pierced details and one side has broken the solder seam while the other remains in tact. It could be fixed or the other side could be filed off. This is a magnificent show piece to really enrich your collection. It measures 10.25 inches in diameter. The handle measures 18 inches from end to end. This is a beautiful. Pedestal foot, fruit, nut, or egg basket made by the Middletown Silver Plate Co. of Middletown, CT. It measures 9 1/2" long, 8 3/4" wide, and 4 3/4" tall(with handle up = 10" tall) The handle is pierced and the basket and foot are pierced and reticulated. There is some thinning and wear of the silver plate in the center section of the basket- see pictures. The number stamped next to the hallmark(possibly the pattern number) is five didgets. 1263 and I think the fifth, viewed through a loupe, proves to be a 9. 12639. This auction is for a vintage silver plate bride's basket in a very simple form with Art Deco inspired cutwork around the edges. The basket has two applied lozenge shaped maker's marks which read YEOMAN PLATE E.P.N.S. MADE IN ENGLAND located on the bottom near where the handles attach. E.P.N.S. stands for electroplated nickel silver. The basket also has three half ball feet. The handle is tight and will hold any position in which it is placed. There are very fine scratches from polishing. A wee bit of tarnish in a few places and a few tiny pin points of pitting. But none of this takes away from this item's bright good looks. Sheffield Pairpoint Silverplate Footed Basket with Pierced Design - 01298
This is a lovely footed basket. It was made by Pairpoint. And has both a Pairpoint and Sheffield mark on the base. The basket is rather flat in design, with the edges folded or rolled up. It has a beautiful pierced design covering most of the body of the basket. The handle is made of 2 strands, that separate at the top. The handles can be laid flat against the basket, allowing it to also be used as a tray. It measures about 8" by 8" and is 2.25" when handle is flat, and 6.75" when it is up. There are actually 2 different Pairpoint markings on the base along with Sheffield, and the number 01298. It is in excellent condition with no damage.

The handle is a very ornate grapevine pattern and does have a center monogram which is now hard to detect.it appears to read"EHS" It is an unmarked piece. I did note the number"46" on the bottom of the base. It is in pristine condition. I did note some residual polishing paste. It is free of any dents or scratches. It is a very lovely piece! You are bidding on a beautiful antique flower basket by Bernard Rice's sons silver plate. Has the glass insert. Basket stands over 15" to top of handle and 9" to top of rim. Pierced decoration in both trumpet body and rim. Swivel handle rotates on either side. The top of the handle is also pierced and has a rose at the top, I show in picture 4. Apollo E.P.N.S. made in USA by Bernard Rice's Sons Inc. Numbered 3620. It is in very good condition. No dents or dings.

International Silver Plated Pierced Basket with Base
This beautiful basket belonged to my mother. I would love to keep it. But I just don't have the room for extras like this in our house. It has a lovely, lacy, look, and with the graceful design of the handle, it's just a wonderful piece. I don't know much about silver and silver plate, but I did polish it a little with just baking soda and water. It needs a more thorough polishing, but I will leave that up to the buyer who hopefully has more experience. I don't know how old this piece is. Whether my mother bought it or it was given to her by my grandparents or her aunt. I know that it has always been in our family and I would estimate from the label that it dates back to mid century or thereabouts. All I can say for sure is that it was mostly stored in a china cabinet all during my childhood(1970's) and adulthood. It would ... morebe a wonderful addition to your silver collection and I sincerely hope someone buys it who will be able to use or display it and enjoy it for many years to come. Please note that I always pack everything I sell very carefully and I have never had a problem with damaged items.
