Lovelace International Silver Footed Silver Plate Antique Basket or Nappy
Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This is a nice Lovelace Silver Plated Footed Basket or Nappy with a Nappy handle on one side. It stands about 1 1/2 inches high and is about 6 inches wide. It is in nice condition with no dings or dents that I can see. It stand on three ornate feet and has a nappy handle on one side. This is from International Silver Company in the Lovelace Pattern. Bottom has this information plus the letters EPNS and numbers 1428. I polished on it some but it could still use a little more cleaning. It has a several utensil marks and scratches on the bottom. These are easily seen in the picture. However. They don't show up that much. This would make a great candy or nut dish, etc. Email with any questions.

A georgeous antique Quadruple silver plate wedding/Bride's Basket by Van Bergh of Rochester. NY circa 1892-1900. It is marked in the very center of the bottom, Van Bergh Silver Plate Co, Rochester, NY with Guadruple plate in the middle. The design is a lovely basic floral design and the handle and feet are beautiful and ornate. The handle is movable, but not removable. The basket weighs 1 lb. 4 oz. and measures 8.5" x 11" x 8" in height. It will come to you polished. The residue you see in the photos is older paste silver polish which I will remove. F B Rogers Silver c1890 Quadruple Plate Footed Basket Embossed Victorian Large This is a unique Victorian style embossed basket and very sizable display piece. The quadrupleplate basket is by F B Rogers Silver Company. The basket is thick and weighs 2 pounds. 10 ounces. It measures approximately 12 1/2 inches in height(with handle up) and 10 1/2 inches long. It is 6 1/2 inches in height with the handle down. The base is 6 3/4 by 5. The basket is a little over 9 inches deep. The handle moves freely with no issues. The 12 inch artificial rose and spoon are for size comparison. This basket was made sometime between the late 1880s and very early 1900s. That estimate is not because of the 1883 on the makers mark. That mark was used for many years. Quadruple plate was used from the latter part of the 1800s to the very early 1900s. The basket could ... morehave been made as early as 1883 but not much later than 1900. The second photograph is how the basket looked when I bought it. I was going to leave the tarnish so the buyer could choose whether to clean it and how much. However. I could not see, photograph, or accurately describe any details or imperfections without removing some tarnish. I gave the exterior one coat of polish. I polished the inside and underside completely. The exterior will shine like the underside if it is polished a few more times. Besides the interior, the basket is in good to very good condition depending on your personal criteria. The exterior shows very little wear in terms of use. There are some minor scrapes and nicks. The ones that do exist are mostly superficial and relatively small. This can be seen in the photographs. This basket surprisingly has less physical wear than many newer silverplate I come across. There is minor plate loss to the exterior. The one area that shows noticeable plate loss is one embossed area on the rim. I put a green mark on that photo. Besides that. The rest of the embossed areas show some to hardly any wear. This is a stunning F.B. Rogers Silver Plate large footed basket with handle. It is 11-1/4" by 8-1/2" and is 6-1/4" tall. Not including the handle. It has an oval shape with a slightly scalloped rim. It is starting to lightly tarnish again but polishes up easily with no bad spots. The handle stands up on its own and has an"S" monogram. This basket is in excellent condition. There are two notches on each end where the handle hits but does not detract from the overall striking statement the basket will make on your table. There is one spot on the face where the handle hits that shows some wear(see last photo) It does look like someone tried to polish it and didn’t get all of the polishing compound off. The handle does not stay upright on its own. The basket measures approximately 10” across. And stands about 3.5” high(9.5” with handle) The bowl is about 1.5” at its deepest point. It has the numbers 0613 next to the maker's mark. I acquired this item from an estate sale and have no history on it. Please use photos to make condition determination. I am not a silver collector. Hallmark on bottom also says"hard white metal" amongst other identifying info. Either fortunately or unfortunately, depending on one's taste, someone painted it gold and did a fine job of it.
