This piece stands about 7 1/2" high to the top of the glass bowl portion and measures 10 1/4" across the top rim. The silverplate holder is very ornate, with the handles resembling a branch with birds resting on them. A bird pattern is also repeated just above the basefoot. This is a beautiful Silver Plated Brides Basket/ Fruit Basket. There is an impressed stamp on the bottom which reads: Pairpoint Mfg. Co. New Bedford, Mass, Quadruple Plate, Pat. Jan. 31, 1893 and number 1249. This item is 120 years old. A lot of embossing on this basket. Looks like a branch with apples on the inside bottom which are raised on the inside and punched in on the underneath. Branches, leaves and apples make up the handle which is hinged. 4 feet on which to stand with a gallery above the feet. Looks like the four corners which are indented in have an engraved design on them. This Basket is in excellent condition showing no wear on the silver. It looks like it was not cleaned ... morefor some time as it is tarnished and the pictures will probably show up dark on the computer. I am leaving it as it is for the new owners to clean themselves. From a local estate. Here is a very old silverplate bride's basket. Marked"Wilcox Silver Plate Quadruple Plate 875" on the bottom, the basket is about 12 X 8 and stands 13.5" tall with the handle upright. Very ornate, features a figural bird on the handle and a deer under the basket. It sits a little cock-eyed but no breaks or repairs. A preliminary polish revealed heavy tarnish- it looks like the main body will not polish up but some of the decorative elements are silver plate and may get better. However, there are plenty of heavy spots of tarnish and oxidation too- probably best to enjoy this one in your shabby decor rather than with the good silver. Lovely. Ornate- so Victorian! Silverplate Bride's Basket In Victorian days. A very common and suitable gift for a young bride or bride-to-be would be a silver or silverplate Bride's basket. She would place it on the front table where it would soon be filled with well-wishes from family and friends. The main features of the basket are the handle and the wide rim. The basket is also somewhat raised on its base. So it appears very much like a real basket you might see made of straw and natural materials. So it takes one somewhat aback to see the basket design in the more elegant medium of silverplate. This one has such a lovely. Ornate repousse design to it! A highly decorative cast Dutch silver canoe shaped large basket circa 1890 raised on 4 equally decorative legs. The body extensively decorated with wild flowers and scrolls. The gracefull handles in the delicate rococo style. Of large size it measures 28 cms long. By 14.1/2cms wide, and stands 12cms high. It weighs 403grms or a full 13 ozs. As you can see it is fully hallmarked with the makers´mark and the 800 grade. Apart from an almost invisible sprung join in the thin lower strut of of the l/h handle. It is perfect. DESCRIPTION: Offered Here is a fabulous super ornate Victorian Silverplate circa 1870s Pedestal Swing Handle Bride's or Cake Basket. This basket is an early Aesthetic Victorian era Basket produced and plated by the Reed& Barton silversmiths of Taunton. Mass. The silver craftsmanship is excellent. This basket is supper ornate in ornamentation and has gorgeous molded figural elements. Including three winged heads on the pedestal base where it meets the bowl and curled acanthus leaf feet attached to the pedestal base with a central spire. There is an outstretched Fox and bird prey on the handle. The interior of the bowl is adorned with deep chased birds on an Oak and acorn branch that is entwined with Grape vines with clusters of grapes. There are ... morealso chased leaves on the pedestal base and four large spires pointing down from the ribbed edge of the bowl. This basket stands approx 7" in height with the handle down and 13" with the handle extended. It is 10" in diameter and stands on an ornate 5" pedestal base. The underside is marked for Reed& Barton with a Patent date of 1871 for the ornamentation above the Reed& Barton stamp. There are no breaks or repairs. There are some scratches from use and some slight silver loss to be expected from age. There is also some remnants of an old type paste silver polish. This silverplate basktet came from a Vermont auction. It has some issues. There are a couple of bends in the ruffled rim that may bend back. There are 4 small dings that the camera would not pick up and there is tarnishing and use marks. The basket is marked Meriden B Company 1688 on the bottom. The basket measures 8 1/2" high with the handle up. 3 3/4" high without the handle, and 9 1/2" in diameter to the outside of the rim.

There are 2 lovely alternating scen es of a wom a n& child together& another of two children playing musi cal instruments on the top part of the basket. The bottom pedestal has alternating s cenes of what appears to be a young man& women. The bowl is a hexagon s hape and dips down somewhat where the handles me et the top of the bowl. I do believe it was mad e this way. It does have a few places of minor pit ting which are hard to see. Meas ures approx: 9" tall to the top of the han dle. The basket is 6" across at top of opening and the bottom pedestal is 4" across. It is approx: 4 1/2" from the top of the basket ... moreto the top of the handle. I am not sure what was in the bottom but I am going to leave up to the buyer to polish( although it is nice with the patina just as it is) or try to remove what i s in the bottom. This is a basket of some sort. I’m not sure what it held. 7” widest point, 5-3/4” tallest. It is has a beautiful ornate design with either cherries or apples on each side. The sides are pulling away from the base but I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be that way because it’s the same on both sides. It says“Pierpoint MF CO, New Bedford, MASS. Number 1321. Footed base. All over inside floral and leafy engraving with ornate heavy textured leaf border and handle. There are no mfg markings on this that I can find. There are initials on the underside of the handle"To.From- very light and difficult for me to read. There is a very small almost pinhead size dent in one of the ridges of the leaves inside the bowl. Estate Vintage silver over copper Unique antique ornate repousse bowl or basket Very unique figural Repoussé antique silverplate bowl/ basket with interesting square metal on top. It is a little askew as shown) 7 and 1/2 inches high and 4 inches in diameter. The silver has almost completely worn off. Leaving a warm, copper patina, which I think is really beautfiul! The frame is quadruple plated and is very ornate with leafing and other embellishments. The bowl is faceted blue glass and has zero chips. Cracks, etc. The frame is approximately 12.5in x 14.5in and the basket is approximately 4 in. high and 8 in. diameter. This over 100 year old antique would be a beautiful addition to any antique collection or a wonderful addition to a vintage style wedding.

This is really a lovely old antique quadruple plate silver bride's basket. It was manufactured by the Pairpoint Mfg. Co. of New Bedford. I really love the beautiful designs that goes around the rim of the piece as well as inside of the basket-inside the basket there is a floral design. There is a lovely swing handle that has an ornate top. There are four ornamental style of feet that adds to the look. The silver finish has worn off from time over the years. It is approx. 9 1/2" tall from top of handle to bottom. It is approx. 10" across.

A beautifully ornate bridal basket from Forbes Silver Company. It is marked with the company seal and the number 200 on the bottom. It has a nice leaf and flower design etched into the surface with a raised inlaid flower design edge. The handle resembles grape vines with leaves and fruit. Was going to polish but think the patina gives it a wonderful antique feel. There is some surface scratching and a few small dings but nothing major. Its diameter measures 8-1/2 inches.

With the handle up it measure about 11 inches total height. About 12 inches in diameter. It has no stamp of manufacturer. 929-z has been etched on the under side of the base. M. It has a lovely ruffled border with great details throughout including florals. Shells, ribbons, scrolls, etc. It measures 9" high to the top of the handle, 12" long, and 9.5" wide. It is marked EPNS. There is some loss of silver at the bottom of the basket. Just a beautiful basket!
