The highest part of the frame measures 6-1/2" tall and measures 14-1/2 from handle to handle. I've owned this piece for 15 years. I had it resilvered it just needs a good polish. Here's a very pretty antique bride's basket frame. It's signed Triple Plate B. Bros and it's gilded. Flowers and leaves decorate the top of the handle and down the sides, while leaves and dragonflies decorate the base. This beautiful aesthetic period frame is sure to be a nice addition to someone's collection. There's some expected wear in the gilding, no dents or dings and the basket stands 11 inches tall. This is one JUMBO Brides Basket ~ Very large and heavy FIGURAL Elephant Frame with a large Rubina Decorated Ribbed and Ruffled Bowl with Fruit enameled inside and out. This terrific piece has full elephant heads and trunks up it has an india feel to it. The frame stands 7-1/2" tall with the bowl its 12" tall. The holder on the inside of the frame has some sodering on it has no effect on the intregity of the stand. There are 3 rings on the bottom of the stand which could have originally had a chain on it. But its now missing, personally I think it would make it too busy. Now the bowl Cranberry to Milk Glass ribbed decorated with fruit both inside and out. This auction is for an incredible Victorian Silver Plates Bridges Basket of a huge Cherub(he's 7" tall without the rest of the frame) the total height of the frame is 11" tall. The Bowl which is a Lucius Cranberry Satin tightly ruffled bowl decorated in purple with white forget me knots the bowl measures 10-1/2" across and is in wonderful condition. One of the prettiest bowls I've seen in a while. The total height is 13" tall and is truly an elegant piece. The condition of the frame the silver appears to be in good condition with minimal plate loss. The bowl had been weighted on the bottom with plaster of paris and green felt was placed over it. The top of the holder has some age pitting but its only in the holder portion which is covered by the bowl. This is an incredible piece, so much prettier in person. There is a mark underneath of two circles and all I can make out is" MERIDEN" and" QUADRUPLE" This holder measures approximately 9 1/2" to the top of the handle x 13" across the handle. The holder for the basket measures approximately 7 5/8" inside diameter at the top and 6 1/2" opening on the inside bottom. It is in good condition but the silverplate is worn from age and use. The decoration, at the base of ... morethe handle, has one spot(on one side) that should be connected and isn't. I think it was done when it was made because it is very tight. The base seems to have a slight slope to it but it is the same on both sides and it looks like it was made that way. I have up for sale an absolutely gorgeous vintage original circa 1880s 1890s Enameled Art Glass Ruffled Rim Brides Basket with Wilcox Quadruple Silver-Plate holder frame. The glass bowl is one of the nicest that I have seen. It has fabulous Enamel Decorations, of leaves and floral detailing. It measures approx 12-1/2" diameter. It is in Excellent Condition- I would call it perfect albeit a most minor flat spot on the rim that appears to be a manufacturing nuance, not damage. I have looked at this with a magnifying glass and it is obvious after observing this first hand that it is not a chip but a flat spot somehow done during manufacture. Although extremely difficult to view, I have a pic of the area shown in my last pic. The frame is in Excellent Condition. Made of Quadruple Silver Plate by the Wilcox Silver-Plate Co. Great Aunt Euphania picked this up at a thrift store. She thought surely she had a bowl to fit but after trying a few different ones gave up looking so up on ebay it goes. This is a nice old piece. The bottom is hallmarked"Quadruple Plate Oneida, Silver Mfg. Co" in a circle. We have family in Oneida and always visit the antique places in the Central New York area but it's not common to find a piece like this marked Oneida. We would date it to probably around 1900 give or take 10 years but we are not experts. We have handled a lot of silver over the years and although we do like to polish flatware pieces such as this one are best left as they are. There is wear to the silverplating(quadruple plate does not mean 4 layers of silver, it means the last layer of plate was silver) You can tell this has been polished before but we don't ... moreknow that it would look any better and might look not quite as good so we are leaving the patina as-is. The frame is a good size so it would hold a nice sized bowl or do what auntie suggest which is to re-purpose older pieces, she would buy some of that green foam for the base and put silk flowers in it. The whole frame is about 13 1/2" high and 9" across, the height for the inner circle area is about 9" to 9 1/2" It has an American Aesthetic look to it with the flowers in a vase on each side. There is nice scroll work around the rim. The base is about 4 1/4" across. Weighs less than one pound but will require a big box to ship. Buyer pays shipping. Payment due within 3 days of sale end. All you can say is WOW offered for sale is a RARE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BRIDES BASKET HOLDER from the late 1800's. The silverplated frame measures 11 inches wide and is 11 inches tall to the top of the handle. The area where the foot rim of the bowl would sit measures 4 inches across not including the flared rim which would be 4& 3/4 inches across. The frame made by the Derby Silver Company. The has a little bit of everything going on. It has 2 cherubs supporting the handle. There are 2 daisy as well as leaves and cherries. The silverplate looks to be worn. There is some slight bending to the ruffled plate attached to the bun feet. There is 3 inch seam split where the bottom plate attaches to the pedestal very minor and could be repaired. There is leaf that came off the front which we have and can be reattached. There is some scratching ... morewhere the bowl sits. Antique Victorian Hartford Quadruple Silverplate Brides Basket Frame. Measures 11 1/2" tall to the top of the handle X 8 1/2" widest. The center hole for the glass bowl measures 4" diam and the cradle between the hoops at the base measures 5 1/4" up to 8 1/4" between the upper hoops. Marked on the bottom rim: Hartford Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Plate 987. Victorian Silver metal frame with four ball feet and a wide hoop handle. The top of the frame is scrolled with a Flower and Leaf pattern. The sides of the base have large clusters of Flowers and Leaves on each side. The round bottom is paneled with a thin rim that holds the foot of the bowl. This is in Nice Condition with No dings. Dents or splits. Huge BEETLE(2 1/4"x2" MOTH(2"x2 1/2" adorn the rim. The middle section includes birds. Spiders, spider webs, snail. butterfly, peacock, flowers, urn. It doesn't get any more AESTHETIC than this. All parts are present and intact. One side of handle has been soldered and glued. No bends. Dents or dings. At one time the entire piece was gold washed. The majority of gold wash has worn away exposing the silverplate. So it's blotchy in areas. There really isn't any plate loss, just the loss of gold wash. No monogram. Up for auction is a beautiful brides basket or brides bowl frame made in the later 1800's. Most likely. This frame fits a bowl with an oval base. There is plate loss and one of the handles will need repair where it's separated at the top. Other than this, I see no other breaks or repairs. I cannot find a mark on this piece anywhere. It's possible it was made by Meriden or one of the predecessor companies like Racine or Rockford or Aurora silver plate company. Other high end makers of these types of articles were James W. Tufts, Derby, Wilcox and Pairpoint. The detail on this is very nice, especially the four legs that feature faces of mythical-looking woodsmen or perhaps the Four Winds. The piece is large. It stands about 10" tall overall. ANTIQUE BARBOUR CO. SILVER PLATE BRIDES BASKET BOWL FRAME - AESTHETIC DEER HEAD
Up for auction is a very nice silver plated brides bowl or brides basket frame for an art glass bowl or insert. Much like the ones made by Mt. Washington or the Bohemian glass houses of Europe at the turn of the last century. This frame has a very nice design with shells around the perimeter of the base, scrolls on the four legs and feet and most whimsical of all it features a stag or deer's head on either side of the handles. This is clearly marked"Barbour Bros Co Silver" and"Quadruple" as well as the numbers"233" There is wear to the plate but it still displays just beautifully. The diameter of the base where a bowl or insert would rest is 4-1/8" The larger diameter that rises up at this base is 5.25" There is a distance of 8.75" between the handles at the widest. And the distance between ... morethe base itself, where the bowl would rest up to the underside of the top of the handle is 8.75" The overall height is 13" and it's approximately 9.5" wide. There were many very fine and high quality silver plate manufacturers during the later 1800's through the early 1900's. These included Pairpoint. Meriden, James Tufts, Wilcox Silver, Derby Silver and Rockford Silver Plate Co. This piece is made by the Barbour Bros Co. which was originally organized in 1892 in Hartford CT. It eventually became part of the International Silver Co. in the late 1890's. There is one issue to note. In that the inside handle, where it meets the outside handle has separated at the joint. This is visible in the first photo on the left towards the top of the piece. This is actually not very noticeable as it can be gently pushed back into place and will stay. The strength and stability of the piece is not compromised however and it's very sturdy. Other than this one small issue, I see no other breaks or cracks or repairs to this frame. Up for auction is a beautiful and LARGE brides basket or brides bowl frame made by James W. Tufts of Boston. MA. Tufts was one of the best manufacturers of this type of fancy Victorian goods during the late 1800's when these were in high fashion. This piece is large and is just beautiful and in wonderful condition as well. There is minimal to no loss at all to the silver plate. The piece stands about 17" tall overall. The base or bed has a dimpled pattern which gives it added character. This is 5.5" across. The two side pieces have a width of about 6-1/8" The width of the handles at the widest is 8" Interior. The height from the base or the bed to the underside of the top of the frame is 10.5" The four legs have storks or herons and there are also acanthus leaves adorning the frame.
