OUTSTANDING! Just the way it is! The wear of the silverplating makes this basket more handsome than if it were all shiney. It stands 19 1/2" from bottom to top of handle. The ends are 8 1/2" from floor to top edge, it measures 8 1/2" across from handle to handle, inside measurement end to end is 13" base is 8 1/4" long and 6" wide. It has beautiful thick demensional flowers and scroll around top. The front and back is all cut open work with area for monograms, but there isn't any engraving on them. The top of the handle also has an engraving plate with nothing on it. Stamped on the bottom: DERBY SILVER COMPANY,anchor with crown) and 1218. It is very heavy about 5 pounds, that is why the postage seems high. However, I include tracking number and insurance in that. No repairs are evident on the baske t or the handles. Basket has tarnish and wear to the silverplate and the etching on the inside bowl is well worn in some places. This amazing hexagon basket was made by Derby S.P. Co. International S. Co. It is stamped on the bottom along with#1232 and the initials EDWM. It has a nice patina which highlights the wonderful intricate design- which is a dutch motif. It has an ornate handle. This basket is in excellent condition. There are no dents- look at the pictures- there are a few spots without the patina which i'm sure is normal. It is heavy to ship- I will refund any amount if shipping is cheaper than quoted. Here's a vintage basket. I am asuming its silver plate. Stands 10 inches tall, 8 inch across from handle at top of base. Number is 1227 stamped with Derby silver co. Weight is 1 pound 11 ounces without basket insert. I do not know if the basket insert is original. Its used with some scratches, buying as is. Shipped priority, insured. This quadruple plate basket was made by the Derby Silver Co. is circa 1890. The basket is decorated with flowers of various types on the outside. The basket is 4 3/4 inches wide and 2 inches high not including the handle. It is 5 inches high when the handle is extended. The basket has a scalloped edge. It is in exceptional condition with no dents and no silver loss. There are some scratches on the inside.

This beautiful vintage item after some research dates between 1872- 1933 which are the years this company was in business. This basket has hig sides deocrated with stars and floral designs. This has patina to include tarnishing and I am leaving it up to the buyer to polish if they desire. The center has a raised medallion with a victorian design that incorporates a heron or bird design with scrolling. There is a slight small approx 1 cm in size silverplate loss in the top plate near the raised medallion. The handle is in tact and quite detailed. The handles where they meet up with the body ... moreof this basket have a light colored string wrapped in the seam which I am not certain why it is there. This auction is for a DERBY SILVER CO. QUADRUPLE PLATE handled brides basket number 1042. The inside of the basket is engraved with flowers with leaves. The handle moves freely. But stands easily on it's own. The sized is 9-1/4" Wide and 11" tall(with handle) Condition is good. There are a few minor scratches inside the bowl. I have not cleaned the basket. Derby Silver Co. Wedding Basket (circa 1872 - 1933) ~ Heron
This vintage Derby Silver plate Co. quadrupled plated wedding basket is in very nice condition showing only the normal signs of wear. The upper part of the basket is slightly oval measuring 8.75 inches by 8.25 inches. It is also 1.5 inches deep and is 5 inches to 5.25 inches high. With its ornate handle in the upright position it measures 12 inches high. Centrally there is a raised ornate area featuring Stork or Heron. A long legged Bird I have not attempted to clean and it is free of any denting. Nice heavy piece which will display nicely. The Derby Silver Co. in Derby. CT. made fine silver plate items from its opening in 1872 to when it closed during the Depression in 1933. As such this wedding basket is in great condition considering its age.

This is a used vintage silver plate basket marked Derby Silver Co. Derby, Conn. 1006. With a moveable handle that stands 10 1/2" tall, 8 1/2" diameter bowl. Here is a beautiful Antique Quadruple Silverplate STORK Wedding Bridal Basket made by the Derby Silver Co. made in the late 1800's. The Basket is about 10" around and about 12" tall with the handle up. The legs to the basket are stork birds and there is a stork in the bowl. It has very pretty Victorian edge work to the piece.
