Lovely Hartford Silverplate brides basket measures 8 1/2" tall and 9" wide. The base of the frame is 5 1/2" in diameter. The glass bowl is original to the base and has an extended base to fit down into the top of the frame for a secure fit. The frame has some silverplate wear. Antique Victorian Hartford Quadruple Silverplate Brides Basket Frame. Measures 11 1/2" tall to the top of the handle X 8 1/2" widest. The center hole for the glass bowl measures 4" diam and the cradle between the hoops at the base measures 5 1/4" up to 8 1/4" between the upper hoops. Marked on the bottom rim: Hartford Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Plate 987. Victorian Silver metal frame with four ball feet and a wide hoop handle. The top of the frame is scrolled with a Flower and Leaf pattern. The sides of the base have large clusters of Flowers and Leaves on each side. The round bottom is paneled with a thin rim that holds the foot of the bowl. This is in Nice Condition with No dings. Dents or splits. Up for auction is a beautiful antique 19th-century Aesthetic Movement silver-plated handled basket. Made by the Hartford Silverplate Company of Connecticut. From the mid-to-late 1800’s. This vintage Victorian Era quadruple-plated silver figural nature basket features a realistic ornate twig handle with leaves and an uneven ruffled rim along with stylized embossed flowers around the exterior of the pot or bowl. The bottom is hallmarked HARTFORD SILVERPLATE CO QUADPLATE along with a stag or hart and the style number M 0655. The dimensions are approximately 5 3/4" to the top of the handle by 5 1/4" at the widest. This charming and lovely Victorian Age silverplated twig-handled basket is in very good antique vintage condition with no dings or dents and only very light surface marks or wear. It has a beautiful undisturbed patina and ... morethe silver plating seems largely intact.
