c1893 Victorian Art Nouveau Flowers Poppies Brides Basket Silver Quadruple Plate
This listing is for a lovely romantic art nouveau brides basket that is a harder to find company. It was made by Queen City Silver Co. out of Cincinnati Ohio. Numbers on bottom indicate it was made in 1893. It is in excellent condition for age with no dents and just a couple minor small spots of plate loss on relief areas of flowers that just looks like reflection so you don't notice it. The very edge handle have a couple small spots of plate loss as well. But not enough to detract from the piece or grab your attention and I only therefore mention for accuracy. The art nouveau lines are lovely and the handle is just as decorative as the basket. It measures 8 3/4" high to top of handle that will stay in place in upright position-not too loose or tight-just right. Bowl area is 10" across. Estate purchased. This silverplate brides basket is deserving of the finest glass insert. Fully marked as pictured. Circa 1880-1900. I noticed no dings. Dents or monograms. Stands 13 7/8" high x 13 3/4" wide. The diameter(where the glass insert would set) is 3 3/4" 91.33mm) Wonderful vine and floral design with a nude woman with long flowing hair on the base. Nice patina. Does show some old polish within some of the detail itself. Any cleaning will be left to the next owner. Middletown Conn and stamped 1759 Middletown Plate Company dates to between 1864 and 1899. As the Middletown Plate Company was taken over by International Silver in 1899. Nice open work flower or rose petal basket for a Victorian wedding. Made of silver plate 12" tall by 11" wide by 7 1/2" deep. Perfect size for a table arrangement or to carry down the isle. Stamped Meriden International 306 on bottom. Has not been cleaned. Three tiny pencil point marks hardly noticeable dents in lower section. Other marks in picture are from needing to be polished. Holds water for fresh flowers up to the cut outs. Light enough for a two year old to carry down the isle.

For your consideration is a wonderful antique Silverplated brides basket or fruit bowl. it features embossed fruit and flowers and is very detailed. It measures 12" W X 91/2" high to the top of the handle.all measurements approx. It is in good condition for its age with normal wear from use. The is some plate loss. I have not attempted to polish it. It is a great Victorian brides basket. All payments are due at auction end and all items are sold in as found condition. As I do not accept returns. Vintage ~ out of a nice Indianapolis Estate. Metal is 10 1/2" x 10" x 5 1/4" Metal is marked as seen in photo provided. Glass bowl is white on the outside. Peachy pink on the inside with gold or yellowish crest rim. It is 4 1/4" tall x 10 1/2" at the longest and 8 1/4" widest. Bowl has a pontil scar on the bottom. Shipping based on about a 7 lb box. This auction is for a beautiful BRIDES BASKET. Or Fruit Bowl, with a pedestal base and a swing handle. There is a highly detailed rim while the interior of the bowl features hummingbirds and flowers. It is#1887, was made by the Meriden Britannia Company, and is a Quadruple Silver Plate. The Meriden Britannia Company was in business from 1852 until 1898 and through a number of buy-outs the mark shown was used until the 1930s. It is 10" in diameter across the top. Stands 5" with the swing handle lowered and is 12 1/2" with the handle raised. The condition is like new with some overall light tarnish.
