Description For your consideration is a Victorian Quadruple Silver Bride’s Basket or Cake Plate Holder or Stand! This lonely basket stand is 5 ½” tall to the‘shelf’ and 7 3/8” between to bail or handle holders. The bowl/plate‘well’ is 7 3/8” in diameter. The stand bottom is 4 ¾” in diameter. The top or deck has etched or chased floral patterns while the handle has a reticulated flower and leaf patter. There are two sets of marks. The first in the bottom center has Rogers with their anchor marks plus Wm. Rogers Mfg. Co. Hartford. CONN. and Quadruple 940. The separate etch mark is 511X over H. Fabulous Antique Barbour Silver Co. GLASS LINED FANCY SILVER PLATE CONDIMENT SERVER FIGURAL OPEN WORK DECORATION From a Connecticut Estate Auction comes this Antique FANCY GLASS LINED FIGURAL SILVER PLATE CONDIMENT SERVER by Barbour silver Co. The body of the basket is wonderfully decorated with men and women in different settings with a swing handle decorated with floral and foliate elements. This is in excellent used condition with beautiful handle mounts. This stands about 6" tall to the raised handle. 2 7/8" tall to the top of the bowl with the handle down and about 5 1/2" wide at the handle connections. The handle is stiff enough so that it will stay in any position and both the silver plate and glass bowl. Which I believe to be original, are in excellent used condition with no plate loss, cracks, chips or other defects ... morethat I note. Barbour was founded in Hartford. CT in 1892 and was one of the founding members of International Silver Co. in 1898. All of my silver has been lightly polished for its photo shoot but can always benefit from additional polishing. The basket stands about 8.5 inches tall to the top of the handle and 9.5 inches tall. The finish on the basket is in the Butler Finish a softer finish used to replicate years of polishing by a butler. The handle is in the form of budding twigs ... moreand the feet are also twigs with attached oak leaves. There are no monograms or dents and no visible repairs. There once was an attachment to the rim of some kind as there is a tiny hole where a screw may have been. This ca be seen in the last picture. We will combine shipping when ever possible. Antique vintage Meriden CT Silverplate bride basket server ornate reposse
This Meriden quadruple silverplate Bride's basket or handled petite four server is very ornate and I believe done in repose. Please view pictures. The handle is does not want to stay up so needs tightening by someone who knows how to do it. It is in very nice condition with only a few surface scratches to the center circle. There are two marks on the bottom.both within circles. One says"Meriden B. Company" and has a shield with scales in the middle. The other one has"Meriden Britannia Quadruple Meriden CT" It also has the number 1871 under the marks. The piece is 9.25" across and 3" tall from ground to rim( not including handle) It has pretty feet also.
