This one definitely tugs at my heart strings. I purchased the frame about 12 years ago it's been sitting here waiting for a bowl. And let me tell you finding a mate for this is not easy! This is about as good as it gets! The Figuaral Silverplate Basket has been resilvered with the normal scratch marks on the base for the silverplater ~ the frame stands almost 14" tall. Measures 10-1/2 wide at its widest point with an inside opening of 9-1/2" It has a raised base that measures about 4-3/4" There are for elaborately decorated feet, and the base is adorned with flowers and leaves. The handle has trailing ... moreflowers and vines and two CHERUBS holding a ball with a heavy twisted handle. The Rubina Bowl is heavily acid etched with flowers. ATQ BARBOUR SILVER CO BRIDES BASKET RUFFLED & FLORAL PAINTED BOWL~NICE DETAIL
This is a beautiful Antique Brides Basket from the 1800's. The bottom basket is marked"Barbour Silver Co. Quadruple Plate# 247. It has a round platform circular bottom. With an embossed 3 d flower in the center. The basket has two metal bars which form into one midway, as the handle. There is a rope design, which is entwined around the top metal handle. This design has detailed berries embellishments. On each side of the handle are large detailed raised 3d leaves(5) Hanging from the leaves are two dangling detailed berries, giving the basket a completed fabulous look. The insert bowl is blown encased glass. The exterior is a milk white, the edges are crimped and ruffled, giving the bowl a look of opulence. The edges are a deep fushia color fading lighter as it descends into the bowl, turning into a creamy white color. Over the white ... morearea there are hand painted raised pedal, delicate flowers in a baby blue, and each dotted with pink centers. The finishing detail is cascading leaves and alternating scrolls, all done in fine gold detailing. This piece has minor flaws, age appropriate pitting on the silver, which also needs a polishing if so desired. The edge of the rim holding the glass insert has some bending, however it is not seen when the bowl is in place. Minor gold loss on some of the detailed banding in the center of the bowl, again this can be easily rectified. Overall, it is a fabulous piece of history to add to your décor. Thanks for viewing.

James Tufts floral paisley fan brides basket #2763 quadruple silver plate Boston
For auction is an unusual silver-plated metal"bride's basket" by the James W. Tufts company of Boston. Massachussetts. It is square-shaped with rounded corners, and has what looks to me like a floral or paisley fan scrolled engraved design on top and a"screen" pattern on the underside. It measures 8 7/16 inches each side and is about 8 1/2 inches high; with the handle at full height it is about 10 inches high. The maker's mark on the bottom indicates it is quadruple plated and warranted. I don't know much about it, I am selling this for a neighbor who told me it was in his house when he bought it.Could be very old(some JW Tufts pieces date to the 19th century) but I do not know for sure. It has some plate loss on one side of the basket and on the handle as well so condition is not perfect, but typical of something ... morereally old. VICTORIAN SILVER PLATE PINK GLASS BRIDES BOWL or BASKET - SUPERB FLORAL ENAMEL
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian Berry or Fruit Bowl. Also known as a Brides Basket or Brides Bowl or Victorian Centerpiece bowl. This bowl is made from a beautiful cased milky-white opaline-type glass cased with pink glass and hand-painted decoration of enamel. The enamel is wonderfully executed with flowers and leaves and highlights of gold. The enamel is in excellent condition. The edge of the bowl is ruffled and edged with gold. The bowl measures about 10" in diameter and is about 5-3/8" high. The base of the bowl is 5.5" across. The bowl sits in a gorgeous silverplated frame made by the Rockford Silver Plate Co. This frame is in great condition. With almost no loss to the plate that I can see. I do not believe this has been re-plated, but the initials"AMB" are etched into the base, which are probably the ... moreinitials of a prior owner. The basket or holder has a great form, with wide spanning handles decorated with open detail work attached to a very aesthetically pleasing wide base with a ribbed design to it. The bowl fits perfectly into the frame and I believe that these are original to each other. There is no play or movement; it fits perfectly. The bowl is clearly marked"Rockford Silver P Co" and the number 1527. It is also marked Quadruple Plate. The entire piece is quite large. At about 15.5" wide and 10" high overall. The stand itself is about 7.5" high. There is no damage to the silver plate, however it does appear that the handles may have some old repairs where they join to the base. The repairs appear to be old and are actually quite well done but I do want to note them for accuracy. These repairs are on the underside and not visible when the bowl and the holder are displayed. Victorian art glass bowls such as this were often paired with elaborate brides basket frames(as they are called today) made by companies such as Meriden. Wilcox, James Tufts, Derby or Webster. I do not know who the maker of the bowl is. This could be a piece by Thomas Webb

This bowl is made from a beautiful cased milky-white opaline-type glass cased with sky blue glass and hand-painted decoration of enamel. The enamel is wonderfully executed with flowers and leaves and highlights of gold. The enamel is in excellent condition. The edge of the bowl is ruffled. The silverplate is unmarked- ... moreand has a cherub face on either side of the bowl. The handle has a flower in the center. There is plate loss, to be expected with its age. The bowl measures about 8 1/2" long and 6" wide on the ends- 5 3/4" high. The base of the bowl is 4 1/8" across. There are no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs to the bowl- it is simply stunning. James W. Tufts Quadruple Silver Plate Brides Basket Footed with Floral Design
Up for your consideration is this lovely antique James W. Tufts footed circular plate or bowl measures 3 in high and across it is approx. 9 1/2 inches and the handle rises in the center to 5 1/2 inches when in raised position. The handle is very well attached at both sides On the bottom it has the James W. Tufts Boston info shown in the item's title with"Warranted Quadruple Plate" and the number 2768. What a stunning piece for a center piece on any table. The flowers included are a large cone flower. Wild roses, a large rose, daisies, sunflowers and pansies. The other designs are so beautifully etched in to blend with the floral design. The bowl/plate does not sit squarely on a table- it seems to slope to one side.

Pairpoint silverplate basket. Quite a bit of wear and a couple of condition issues. No large chips or major plate loss. The base has been leaned on. So it is a little pushed down on one side which causes the basket to lean. The rim on the front(or back) is pushed in a little bit. Handle is fine and no other issues are apparent to me, but if you can think of a potential issue that might exist, please ask. Very nice scrolling arond the bowl edge and two floral engravings in the bowl. The diameter of the inner part of the bowl is 8" The basket stands 4 3/4" to the rim. A Beautiful and Elegant Silverplate swing handle brides basket/bowl. It was manufactured by James W. Tufts of Boston. MA. It is marked Quadruple plate. And is numbered 4336. The center of the bowl depicts a floral motif that is raised in some places. The rim has a nice bead around the edge and the handle has floral décor and graduated bead design at top. The swing handle moves easily. And the feet are perfect. It is tarnished, I will let the buyer decide to polish this or not. The bowl measures 9" and stands 2 1/4" high without handle. I would say it is about 8" high with handle.

This auction is for a beautiful Victorian silver plate brides basket made by the Meriden Silver Plate Co. About 1890. Item features original antiques silver surface not tarnish. This was a process done to the piece when new. It has a lustrous blue gray surface. Piece measures 11 1/2" wide 9 1/2" deep and 14" to top of handle. Piece is in nice condition with the exception to two small cracks to the edge of bowl as shown in photos. This will make a wonderful addition to your collection.
