A beautifully ornate bridal basket from Forbes Silver Company. It is marked with the company seal and the number 200 on the bottom. It has a nice leaf and flower design etched into the surface with a raised inlaid flower design edge. The handle resembles grape vines with leaves and fruit. Was going to polish but think the patina gives it a wonderful antique feel. There is some surface scratching and a few small dings but nothing major. Its diameter measures 8-1/2 inches.

I found this beautiful basket about 50 years ago in the basement of a Victorian Italianate house I restored. I received this lot from an estate inheritance. It is a very nice Victorian Antique Quadruple Silver Plate Bridal Basket with Ornate Detailing. We believe this to be a Regence or a Regal Brand manufactured Bridal Basket[the hallmark on the bottom is visible and clearly exists but is different to read part of the print-there is definitely a crown hallmark on the bottom though] The number on the bottom of the bowl is 202. There is ornate footed detailing and an ornate handle with engraving inside the bowl itself[see pictures] The motif design is floral. Up for auction is a gorgeous bridal/funeral basket with an intricate cut-out design. It measures approximately 8 1/2" in width by 11" in length. It measures about 9 1/2 inches in height with the handle up. See pictures. As they show how pretty the cut-out designs are. The markings on the bottom show 4 circles. I can't make out what the first and third show. The second circle says"Bros" in it, and the 4th one says"EP" in it. There are separate numbers that read 3105. Excellent vintage condition. I don't know the age of this silverplate basket. It is marked 1821 Middletown Plate Company. Middletown, Conn. I had it replated, so the silver is good. For some reason, the picture shows the basket to not be level although it's not as obvious when looking at it. Polishing requires a gentle touch in order to avoid pressure on the pedestal. Basket with handle up is 10" tall. Bowl is 9" diameter. Handle will collapse or stay up on its own. Condition is good. I welcome any questions.

Here is an antique Victorian silver plate swing handled bridal basket. This pierced or reticulated as well as molded and applied grape& leaf basket has all the bells and whistles of a Martin Hall made piece. This large 12 inch diameter basket. 9 inch tall to top of handle, and basket itself is 3 1/4 tall. Although its unmarked, the applied grape& leaf border is so intricately done, it was done by master craftsmen. Incredible relief to it. Weighing 1.13 lbs. this heavy piece looks so delicate, I tried photographing it in day light) There is an expert repair to the handle which is only visible on the underside of the handle. Thanks for stopping by! For your consideration a Very Large and impressive Bridal Basket Quality piece by 1881 Rogers Stands a whopping 17" tall. The handle has a neat trim with small bows and heart decoration. The body has cutwork pieces and the base shares the same bow and heart trim as the handle. Very eyecatching and pretty piece. Would be lovely as a centerpiece for a table The handle is fixed. It is of an age and it does show some plate wear as pictured, this is located on the body, I rather feel that the handle is not perfectly uniform is they way it has been formed for carrying, and the base has some pitting as pictured, there is also residue underneath from I believe it being silver dipped which is often not kind to a piece nad can take a lot of elbow grease to rectify, which I will leave to the new owner. This is a lovely antique Silver plate brides/bridal basket with nice rufflg glass basket insert that has been hand decorated and painted gold glitter and lovely flower on pink color with ruffle edge with white underside and center. There is a number on the bottom but cannot make it out. These baskets were a favorite wedding gifts from the 1880's until around 1905. This glass basket measures 10 inches across and about 3 inches in height. The silver basket part stands 12 inches high. It has a stamp on it that says manufactured Toronto Standard silver#496 special hard white.
