It does have a mark on the back. It is a symbol with a Y in the middle. Not sure what the symbol is. The back of basket has design all over it. There is some tarnish on the handle. c1893 Victorian Art Nouveau Flowers Poppies Brides Basket Silver Quadruple Plate
This listing is for a lovely romantic art nouveau brides basket that is a harder to find company. It was made by Queen City Silver Co. out of Cincinnati Ohio. Numbers on bottom indicate it was made in 1893. It is in excellent condition for age with no dents and just a couple minor small spots of plate loss on relief areas of flowers that just looks like reflection so you don't notice it. The very edge handle have a couple small spots of plate loss as well. But not enough to detract from the piece or grab your attention and I only therefore mention for accuracy. The art nouveau lines are lovely and the handle is just as decorative as the basket. It measures 8 3/4" high to top of handle that will stay in place in upright position-not too loose or tight-just right. Bowl area is 10" across. Silver plate brides basket / flowers wedding vintage
Nice open work flower or rose petal basket for a Victorian wedding. Made of silver plate 12" tall by 11" wide by 7 1/2" deep. Perfect size for a table arrangement or to carry down the isle. Stamped Meriden International 306 on bottom. Has not been cleaned. Three tiny pencil point marks hardly noticeable dents in lower section. Other marks in picture are from needing to be polished. Holds water for fresh flowers up to the cut outs. Light enough for a two year old to carry down the isle.

I tried to compare it to pictures etc, and can not give it an"age" That said. If this was cleaned up, It would be a stunning, highly detailed piece. I am calling this a Compote Centerpiece Bowl, but if there is another"official" term I am unaware of it! I can find no makers mark. This auction is for a beautiful BRIDES BASKET. Or Fruit Bowl, with a pedestal base and a swing handle. There is a highly detailed rim while the interior of the bowl features hummingbirds and flowers. It is#1887, was made by the Meriden Britannia Company, and is a Quadruple Silver Plate. The Meriden Britannia Company was in business from 1852 until 1898 and through a number of buy-outs the mark shown was used until the 1930s. It is 10" in diameter across the top. Stands 5" with the swing handle lowered and is 12 1/2" with the handle raised. The condition is like new with some overall light tarnish. Co. Material: Silver Plate/ Quadruple Age: It is not marked but this type of silver plate was used at the turn of the century so I think it would be between 1888– 1915. The Rockford Silver P. Co. operated from 1 882– 1956. Design: Etched flowers in the“bowl” and applies flowers and leaves on the top rim. There is some light wear and a couple light dents in the base of the bowl and one on the rim. As you can tell in the photos it is in great condition for its age.
