Located on the east side of Prospect street, south of Howland street, and the ware has no superior in the American or European market. The stock is of the best, possessing all the elements of real silver and beauty, finish, elegance, and grace of form, and the product is in a style conforming to the highest rules of art. The company manufactures all varieties of useful and ornamental household goods in great variety, including knives, forks, spoons, cake baskets, and an almost endless variety of table ware, hat, hair, clothes, and crumb brushes, candlesticks, casters, card receivers, communion ware, ice pitcher sets, epergnes, jewel, cigar, and cigarette ... morecases, wine coolers, ash receivers, match safes, etc. etc. The company organized in 1880 with Edward D. Mandell as president. Alexander H. Seabury as treasurer, and T. J. Pairpoint, superintendent. The capital stock was originally $100,000, but in July, 1887, it was increased to $400,000, at which point it now stands, nearly the entire amount being held in New Bedford. In the spring of 1880. The first building was erected. It was of brick, one hundred twenty by forty feet in area and three stories high. In 1881 a second building was added. This was of wood, three stories high, and one hundred twenty by thirty feet in area, and, finally, the following year, a four story brick building was erected, one hundred fifty by forty feet in area, so that the area of the workshops is nearly fifty thousand square feet. SPECIFICATIONS: Maker/Item/Pattern# Pairpoint Mfg Co#2128 With Glass Insert Information: This is a vintage Pairpoint Mfg Co#2128 stamped brides basket/bowl with a dark blue frosted glass insert dish that has a floral design and starburst in the center. The Pairpoint basket has columns or arms that extend up from its pedestal style base with a circular rim to hold the glass insert. There is patina and signs of age to include tarnishing and some scuffs on the basket. I will leave this as is for the buyer to either clean/polish it or leave the patina as it is. The basket has a floral design throughout. The blue glass insert has no cracks but it does have some small nicks or chips in its top edge. Unique vintage brides bowl base and insert. This basket/bowl has arms or columns from its pedestal base that have a circular metal rim that holds the glass insert in place. The basket is stamped#2128. This basket/bowl has patina to include tarnishing and some usual signs of age. The glass insert is frosted dark blue with a floral design on it's sides and a starburst center design. the bowl has no cracks but it does have a couple of small nicks or chips in it's top edge please see pictures. Up for auction is an Antique Silverplate Brides Basket by Pairpoint Mfg. Co. It is in great antique condition. I find no dents, breaks or bends in the metal. The finish is in good condition, I have polished the piece with a light silver cleaner. The Handle and four feet give the piece an ornate look. It measures 9" tall with the handle up, and 10" wide. The piece is marked on the bottom, dating it to around 1900. There is some sticker residue on the bottom of the piece from the previous owner. US Shipping only. This basket is about 100 years old. Made by Pairpoint Manufacturing Co. This basket is made of Quadruple Silverplate. Very nice ornate designs all over this piece. There is a name engraved in the center of the piece(See pics) The manufacturers name is printed on the bottom. Item appears in overall good shape for its age. It could use a good polish as of right now it ... moreis in tarnished condition. I noticed one of the scalloped edges is a little bent. See Pics) What you see is exactly what you get so please use pics as part of the description. Item is sold as is. No returns. Refunds or exchanges on this item. If you have any questions or if you would like to see more pictures, please just ask. SIZE: Measures approx. 10 1/2 inches round by about 9 inches tall when the handle is in upright position. CONDITION: Basket is in overall good condition. Item is tarnish and could use polished. At least one scalloped edge is a bit bent. Sold as is only. Marked 1233 This basket has lovely detail from top to bottom lovely cherry( design on the bottom Acorn detail on the handle 9" round 3.5" high not including the handle In as found condition- is sure to glisten with a good cleaning!
