Up for your consideration is a gorgeous Cranberry Swirl Glass Basket setting in a Victorian Quadruple Plated Ornate Holder. The Glass Basket measures 9 3/4" across and is about 3 1/2" tall and in excellent chip free condition. With the exception of a very small nick just under the glass rim and which I just found! Also I cant really see it but I felt it, but still cannot be seen by just looking at it and it prob is where there was a bubble in the manufacturing and Im only mentioning for accuracy! Victorian Silver plated brides basket / calling card holder Meriden silver plate
Silver plate brides basket or perhaps a calling card holder. Piece has sort of bright cut floral pattern. I have included a photo of the Meriden mark. Piece measures about 6&1/2 inches wide at widest and stands about 4 inches tall. Piece is in very good used condition. There are a few dents and some slight scratches but overall pretty good. The holder for the basket measures approximately 7 5/8" inside diameter at the top and 6 1/2" opening on the inside bottom. It is in good condition but the silverplate is worn from age and use. Late19th century, victorian art glass brides basket featuring a heavy and high quality silverplated frame marked by James W Tufts Boston Massachusetts. The basket itself is of cased glass with a most unusual treatment of having a band of opalescent hobnails near its ruffled edge with the interior shading from a white to a red near the edge similar to that of Wheeling Peachblow. The art glass basket is free blown and has a pontil marked base and it measures approximately 9 1/2" in diameter. The silver plated frame measures 12" tall to the top of the handle. Antique Cased Pink Glass Brides Bowl, Victorian Silver Plate Basket Holder Stand
For sale is an ornate Victorian probably-quadruple silver plated bride's basket/stand with an exquisite ruffled cased-glass bowl. The pink glass starts dark at the ruffle and flows down to a pale pink at the center. The underside is white. This unmarked bowl measures 10 1/4" across at its widest. 3 3/4" at its tallest, and 2 7/8" across the foot, which has a ground, indented pontil. It is in excellent antique condition: No cracks, breaks, chips, or repairs; just some bubbles, pimples, a couple of slightly rough areas where the glass was bent for the sections of low ruffles, and 3 tiny spots of white color in the pink, all signs of having been manufactured more than a hundred years ago. This is NOT one of the Fenton reproduction bowls. The stand is unmarked; it stands 7 1/4" at its highest, 7 4/8" at its widest, ... moreand 3 3/8" across the inner part where the bowl sits. The bowl sits way down into the basket portion. The holder has three ornate scroll work columns that connect the basket to the base. A beautiful dove is attached to the stand between the columns. The four lion's feet are also very ornate. The holder is in wonderful antique condition: The silver plate needs polishing, but it is mostly intact; there are several scratches and two shallow dents in the bottom rim of the stand and one small dent and several small scratches in the basket upper rim. The silverplated frame measures 11 inches wide and is 11 inches tall to the top of the handle. The area where the foot rim of the bowl would sit measures 4 inches across not including the flared rim which would be 4& 3/4 inches across. The frame made by the Derby Silver Company. The has a little bit of everything going on. It has 2 cherubs supporting the handle. There are 2 daisy as well as leaves and cherries. The silverplate looks to be worn. There is some slight bending to the ruffled plate attached to the bun feet. There is 3 inch seam split where the bottom plate attaches to the pedestal very minor and could be repaired. What a wonderful antique brides basket with original silverplate holder and a deep peach glass bowl with a white casing. No chips. Cracks, or repairs that I can find. The part that holds the bottom of the glass bowl looks to be a little oblong but the bowl fits perfectly and this does not show when displayed. A tiny separation in the stand where it was solder together when made. Could be fixed by a silversmith but it's such a minor thing I would leave it alone. May be the way it came from the company. The silverplate holder is marked Crescent Silver Co. on the bottom. The beautiful glass bowl is ruffled and shows no scratches. Probably a display piece only for many years. Victorian Brides Basket. Peachblow Glass in holder Rose pink to white peachblow cased glass. Hand enameled flowers. Probably dates to the 1880s. The bowl is a large 11 1/2 inches across. The silver holder has a twisted handle and floral and heart design. In the holder. It is 12 inches across and 11 1/2 tall. The holder is probably nickle mixed aloy, I have had it for years and it does not tarnish. The bowl has an inverted polished pontil. No maker's mark. The holder appears to be marked, but I cannot make it out. Condition: The holder has a couple areas that are spot welded. Brides Wedding Basket Base Holder Wilcox Silver Claw Foot
This Brides or Wedding Basket Base Holder is made by Wilcox Silver Plate Co in Meriden Conn.I believe this is the original silver plate and it is in excellent condition. Width inside handle 10 1/4" Base is 6 3/4" and it is 10 1/2" tall. I think this piece would date about 1890. There is a number on the bottom#5505. The workmanship is beatiful in this piece and outstanding design. The open work and claw feet and the handle would make any bowl look fantastic. VINTAGE AURORA QUADRUPLE SILVER PLATE BRIDES BASKET HOLDER
We are offering for auction this vintage quadruple plate brides basket holder made by Aurora SP Manufacturing Co. It is 10" tall. 10" wide and the indent for the bowl is 3 1/4" The basket has leaves, twisted wire and the base has four feet and flowers, leaves and birds around the edge. It has four acorns that are attached to the circle that holds the basket. It is really unusual and pretty. One problem, it is very dirty, even more so than the pictures show. We are not good at cleaning metal with this much tarnish and hope that the new owner will know just what to use and how to do it. The basket is marked Aurora SP Manufacturing Co.
