Company ... more1843" This unusual piece has two large(3" diameter) reticulated(openwork) rococo medallions with winged cherubs tending a garden, one holding a watering can. The center has two embossed and engraved flying birds with a rising sun and stand of bamboo trees. It has a fancy floral handle and chased floral rim with four embossed feet. Size: 10.5" wide x 9.5" long and 11" high to top of handle. Condition: very good with little to no wear to silver plate and no scratches or repairs. There is a very light raised dent in center above pedestal base(not obvious really) that prevents the basket from sitting perfectly flat. It could be easily restored or you could place a small felt pad under to keep it level. A very unusual antique American silver basket circa 1875. This listing is for a two piece silverplate and glass brides basket bowl. The bottom of the silver plated holder reads Meriden Silverplate Co. 0719. As seen in the pictures. This piece stands about 7 1/2" high to the top of the glass bowl portion and measures 10 1/4" across the top rim. The silverplate holder is very ornate, with the handles resembling a branch with birds resting on them. A bird pattern is also repeated just above the basefoot. The peg bottom glass bowl has a scalloped rim and a frosted flower(rose? and ribbon pattern. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There are a few white specks in the glass that are ... moreas made. This is a beautiful Silver Plated Brides Basket/ Fruit Basket. There is an impressed stamp on the bottom which reads: Pairpoint Mfg. Co. New Bedford, Mass, Quadruple Plate, Pat. Jan. 31, 1893 and number 1249. This item is 120 years old. A lot of embossing on this basket. Looks like a branch with apples on the inside bottom which are raised on the inside and punched in on the underneath. Branches, leaves and apples make up the handle which is hinged. 4 feet on which to stand with a gallery above the feet. Looks like the four corners which are indented in have an engraved design on them. This Basket is in excellent condition showing no wear on the silver. It looks like it was not cleaned ... morefor some time as it is tarnished and the pictures will probably show up dark on the computer. I am leaving it as it is for the new owners to clean themselves. It measures 10 1/4 inches long, 8 1/2 inches wide and stands 3 inches high, 8 inches high with the handle up. Lovely. Ornate- so Victorian! Silverplate Bride's Basket In Victorian days. A very common and suitable gift for a young bride or bride-to-be would be a silver or silverplate Bride's basket. She would place it on the front table where it would soon be filled with well-wishes from family and friends. The main features of the basket are the handle and the wide rim. The basket is also somewhat raised on its base. So it appears very much like a real basket you might see made of straw and natural materials. So it takes one somewhat aback to see the basket design in the more elegant medium of silverplate. This one has such a lovely. Ornate repousse design to it! It is just a very lovely example of a Victorian Bride's Basket. DESCRIPTION: Offered Here is a fabulous super ornate Victorian Silverplate circa 1870s Pedestal Swing Handle Bride's or Cake Basket. This basket is an early Aesthetic Victorian era Basket produced and plated by the Reed& Barton silversmiths of Taunton. Mass. The silver craftsmanship is excellent. This basket is supper ornate in ornamentation and has gorgeous molded figural elements. Including three winged heads on the pedestal base where it meets the bowl and curled acanthus leaf feet attached to the pedestal base with a central spire. There is an outstretched Fox and bird prey on the handle. The interior of the bowl is adorned with deep chased birds on an Oak and acorn branch that is entwined with Grape vines with clusters of grapes. There are ... morealso chased leaves on the pedestal base and four large spires pointing down from the ribbed edge of the bowl. This basket stands approx 7" in height with the handle down and 13" with the handle extended. It is 10" in diameter and stands on an ornate 5" pedestal base. The underside is marked for Reed& Barton with a Patent date of 1871 for the ornamentation above the Reed& Barton stamp. There are no breaks or repairs. There are some scratches from use and some slight silver loss to be expected from age. There is also some remnants of an old type paste silver polish. I did not clean or polish before listing and this should clean up beautifully. Please view and enlarge photos to further aid in description. This is a Beautifully Ornate Derby Brides Basket that is silver-plated. It says Derby Co on the bottom and International S Co and is stamped with marks an d the numbers 1234. It has wonderful patina. There are 2 lovely alternating scen es of a wom a n& child together& another of two children playing musi cal instruments on the top part of the basket. The bottom pedestal has alternating s cenes of what appears to be a young man& women. The bowl is a hexagon s hape and dips down somewhat where the handles me et the top of the bowl. I do believe it was mad e this way. It does have a few places of minor pit ting which are hard to see. Meas ures approx: 9" tall to the top of the han dle. The basket is 6" across at top of opening and the bottom pedestal is 4" across. It is approx: 4 1/2" from the top of the basket ... moreto the top of the handle. I am not sure what was in the bottom but I am going to leave up to the buyer to polish( although it is nice with the patina just as it is) or try to remove what i s in the bottom. This is really a lovely old antique quadruple plate silver bride's basket. It was manufactured by the Pairpoint Mfg. Co. of New Bedford. I really love the beautiful designs that goes around the rim of the piece as well as inside of the basket-inside the basket there is a floral design. There is a lovely swing handle that has an ornate top. There are four ornamental style of feet that adds to the look. The silver finish has worn off from time over the years. This is an oval shaped brides basket on an ornate pedestal. The basket is silver plated and was made by Reed& Barton. The basket is 11 ¼ inches wide. 8 ¼ inches deep and 6 ¾ inches high to the top of the basket and 14 inches to the top of the handle. The handle has a deer on the top and the basket has birds perched on each side. The pedestal has four busts facing out. The basket portion has engraved decoration in it. The piece dates circa 1870. The designs that repeat along the edges include birds. Leaves, mountains, floral scenes and butterflies. Antique Victorian Cased Glass Brides Bowl, Ornate Victor Quadruple Plate Basket
For sale is an ornate Victorian quadruple silver plated bride's basket with an exquisite fluted cased-glass bowl. The pink glass starts dark at the ruffle and flows down to a very pale pink at the center. The underside is white. This unmarked bowl measures 10 1/8" across at its widest. 3" at its tallest, and 3 1/4" across the foot, which has a rough, indented pontil. It is in excellent antique condition: No cracks, breaks, chips, or repairs; just some pimples, a teeny cut mark near the center, stretch marks" in the glass around the ruffles, and 3- 1/4" shallow cuts near the rim on the foot, all signs of having been manufactured more than a hundred years ago. The basket is marked on the bottom rim: Victor Silver Co. Quadruple Plate 1280. It stands 11 1/4" at its highest, 11 7/8" at its widest, and 3 1/4" ... moreacross the inner part where the bowl sits. The holder has ornate scroll work and balls at the top and top/sides of the handle, and balls and floral ornaments where they attach to the basket. There is ornate relief work and bead work around the base and the four feet are also very ornate. The holder is in wonderful antique condition: The silver plate needs polishing but it appears to be mostly intact; no other conditions to report. Large Antique Silver Pewter Silverplate Compote Brides Basket Bowl Old Ornate
Here is an old piece I haven't been able to find out much about. This is a large basket with a very ornate and detailed motif. This measures 13.25" x 8.5" wide and is 6.5" tall. When you have the handle up it is 13" tall. This appears to be silverplated pewter. The silverplate is mostly gone however so this shows mostly pewter and has hints of a brass color coming out along the rim and handle hinge. Ive searched everywhere and can not find a makers Hallmark. I have no clue who made this or true age but can say it did come from a very old estate. This is highly detailed inside and out, I am sure you will love this despite the heavy plating wear. This likely would benefit from a cleaning and polishing too as this is being sold as found. Derby silver plate basket This is a beautiful. Highly ornate handled basket that displays excellently on its own or would be suitable for fruit or a flower arrangement. This is a nice sized piece and measures 14" tall and 9.75" x 7.75" The bottom is marked Derby Silver P Co International S Co 1232. The basket is six sided. The large panels have the same ornate English countryside design on each side. The smaller panels below have alternating scenes with a man and woman. It is marked in a small circle with the Meriden Company mark on a bottom base foot but I was unable to get a clear undistorted close up of it. Basket has no damage. For sale is an ornate Victorian silver plated bride's basket with an exquisite scalloped-edge. Enamel painted glass bowl. The the bowl is white inside with blue hand painted butterflies and pale brown leaves, and pink outside with enamel painted butterflies and floral motif. This unmarked bowl measures 9 1/4" across at its widest, 3 1/2" at its tallest, and approx. 6 1/2" across the foot, which has a rough, slightly indented pontil. It is in very good antique condition: No cracks, breaks, or repairs. However, there is a 1/2" shallow chip where a spot in the rim comes to a point(see last picture) it is noticeable, but does not detract from the beauty of the bowl. I see a couple tiny pits and some pimples in the glaze, signs of having been manufactured more than a hundred years ago. There is also what looks like a light ... morepartial coffee-cup stain in the bottom of the bowl(go figure) The basket is marked on the bottom rim: MFG& PLATED BY REED& BARTON 3930. There are two more birds(front and back) on the basket and all four birds form the legs/feet of the holder. There is ornate relief work around the portion that holds the bowl. The holder is in wonderful antique condition: The silver plate needs polishing(and there is some polish on the holder) but it appears to be mostly intact; no other conditions to report. This is no marriage; a beautiful, quality artifact from the Victorian period. CONDITION NOTE: All of our items are vintage or antique. Vintage Wilcox International Company silver plate bride's basket. This is a beautiful. Highly ornate handled basket that can be displayed with flowers, fruit or all on its own. This is a nice sized piece and measures 16-1/2" tall x 11" x 8-1/2" The bottom is marked Wilcox S.P. International S Co 814. The basket has a fluted edge and has a pedestal looking base. There is an ornate floral design on both sides of the basket and on the handle. Very solid piece weighing 2 pounds 3 ounces. I have not found any damage or dents to the basket. Please note that some of the silver plate has worn off in spots but this is still an attractive piece. Please view pictures carefully to see the exact condition.

Offered is a Meriden Silver Plated very ornate brides basket. It lots of birds on the rim and in the center. And nicely decorated handle. It is 9 1/4" in diameter and 4 7/8" tall. Not including the handle. It needs polishing and buffing, There are some light scratchs that I think could be buffed out. I used a liquid polish and considered keeping it as it displays well. But I really don't have room for any more collectbles. It is from a local estate and I think it is quite old.

Beautiful silverplate piece. Not sure of its purpose but is very ornate. See pictures for the beautiful detail on this piece. No makers mark and no idea of the age. It does have swirl marks on the inside from use and cleaning. Weighs 1 lb 4 oz. handle is intact but loose enough that it won't stay up by itself. 7.5 in across from spot to spout. 3.75 across and 4 in high at the highest point of the bowl. 6 in to the top of the handle.
