The Stand is fully marked for the fine Period Silversmiths Standard Silver Plate Company Toronto which was out of business by 1902, so you know this beauty has to predate that. This piece stands about 7 1/2" high to the top of the glass bowl portion and measures 10 1/4" across the top rim. The silverplate holder is very ornate, with the handles resembling a branch with birds resting on them. A bird pattern is also repeated just above the basefoot. The Silver Plate Frame is quite wonderful with fabulous large fully figured Strawberries and Leaf designs and great cast designs around the base. The Glass Bowl is equally as nice being done in most unusual Pressed Pattern and featuring a rich Amber upper section with very fine Acid Etched Floral designs all around. The Silver Plate frame is in good all original condition with no breaks or repairs. It just shows a lot of wear and would be perfect for having replated. The Frame and Bowl are original to eachother, having come down through one family for generations. The Glass Bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs except for a Flake chip to the Stem. The Serving Bowl is the only example I have had the pleasure to sell with a Blue Opaline Glass insert. In many years and I am sure is quite a Rare find indeed. The Basket Frame features very nice Grape and Vine designs with fancy feet and a lovely Bead pattern Bail Handle, which yes stays up on it's own for display. The Blue Opaline Glass Liner is the original to the frame and fits like a glove. The Outside is Satin Glass and the interior is glossy. The Basket is overall in very fine all original condition with a couple tiny splits in the frame which I am sure could easily be re-soldered and no dents or bends with the Glass Bowl showing wear scratches to the interior and some remnants of painted designs on the outside but no chips, cracks or repairs. The Basket makes for a beautiful display and is a nice practical size for modern use measuring 7" tall to the top of the bail handle by 8-1/4" wide or 2-1/4" tall at the edge with the bowl measuring 1-1/2" deep. Presented today is a Pairpoint silver plate Brides Basket Pedestal Footed Bowl. On the bottom it is marked with the traditional logo of Pairpoint and it says quadruple plate. Mfg co. The number on the bottom is 1203. There is another number that looks like a driver’s license number for identification. The piece measures approximately 2" tall and 9 1/2" across. With the handle upright it measures approximately 9 1/2" The piece is in fair condition with tarnishing and wear and tear from use. Polishing may help. Please see pictures for condition and details. Antique Cased Pink Glass Brides Bowl, Victorian Silver Plate Basket Holder Stand
For sale is an ornate Victorian probably-quadruple silver plated bride's basket/stand with an exquisite ruffled cased-glass bowl. The pink glass starts dark at the ruffle and flows down to a pale pink at the center. The underside is white. This unmarked bowl measures 10 1/4" across at its widest. 3 3/4" at its tallest, and 2 7/8" across the foot, which has a ground, indented pontil. It is in excellent antique condition: No cracks, breaks, chips, or repairs; just some bubbles, pimples, a couple of slightly rough areas where the glass was bent for the sections of low ruffles, and 3 tiny spots of white color in the pink, all signs of having been manufactured more than a hundred years ago. This is NOT one of the Fenton reproduction bowls. The stand is unmarked; it stands 7 1/4" at its highest, 7 4/8" at its widest, ... moreand 3 3/8" across the inner part where the bowl sits. The bowl sits way down into the basket portion. The holder has three ornate scroll work columns that connect the basket to the base. A beautiful dove is attached to the stand between the columns. The four lion's feet are also very ornate. The holder is in wonderful antique condition: The silver plate needs polishing, but it is mostly intact; there are several scratches and two shallow dents in the bottom rim of the stand and one small dent and several small scratches in the basket upper rim. Beautiful antique brides basket with silver plate base by the Middletown Plate Company of CT. Circa 1870's. Market Middleton Plate Co. Quadruple Plate. The company operated under this name until 1899 until it was taken over by International Silver Co. Excellent condition. No chips. Dings, scratches, repairs or damage. The mark on the bottom of the basket is an unknown mark, believed to once have been part of a museum collection liquidated by the owners in the early 1980s. RARE Victorian French GREEN OPALINE Glass SILVER PLATE Brides Basket Bowl ROSES, This is a rare circa 1890 French green Opaline glass bowl in the original silver plated repousse basket. The basket features filigree roses with branch and leaf design and three scroll feet. The handle has a central flower and is attached tightly. There are no breaks or repairs with just a slight bend to the metal which I did not try to straighten. The French Opaline glass bowl is a rare bell shape and has no chips cracks or repairs. Measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and about 6 inches tall including the handle. This is a beautiful victorian piece. See my other opaline listings and combine your shipping costs. I take great care in packing every item and have been shipping chandeliers worldwide for over 10 years. I purchase bubble wrap. I managed to soak this basket to dissolve this thick residue, and reveal it's true motif(if you are interested in viewing photos of this piece's original condition, I would be more that happy to enclose photos) There is also an small area to the inner top bowl surface that has cracks(see photos#7& 8 for this detail) however, poses no issue to fall apart, and lastly, a ding at the underside rim(see photo#9) and lastly, there at the underside base shows signs of repair(see photo#12 for this detail) The glass basket bowl hides the cracks to the inner bowl area extremely well! VICTORIAN MIDDLETOWN SILVER PLATE CO. - PINK CASED GLASS BRIDES BOWL or BASKET
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian Berry or Fruit Bowl. Also known as a Brides Basket or Brides Bowl or Victorian Centerpiece bowl. This bowl is made from a beautiful rose or pink opaline-type glass cased with white glass and edged with gold or yellow translucent glass. This glass is sometimes referred to as peachblow but it is not. The edge of the bowl is ruffled and crimped. The bowl measures about 10" across at the widest and about 6" across at the narrow. It stands about 4" tall. The base of the bowl is 4.25" across at the foot. The bowl sits in a gorgeous silver plated frame made by the Middletown Plate Co. This frame is in wonderful condition. With almost no loss to the plate that I can see. There is residue from old lacquer and some light tarnish, but it should polish up nicely. The frame for this piece is ... morespectacular. It encompasses an apple at the top, cherries with stems and grapes. The detail on this is so finely done that it is a work of art in itself. The frame stands about 14.5" tall and is about 8.5" wide. The span between the handle(s) is about 7.5" approximately 3" up from the base. The base itself is 4.5" wide at the opening. I do not know if the bowl is original to the base as there is some play in the fit, but it does fit perfectly into the frame and when in place it sits well into the base so that it looks like a perfect match. The elaborate frame is a perfect compliment to the understated, but beautiful bowl. There is no damage at all to the glass; no chips, cracks breaks or repairs. The frame is clearly marked"Middletown Plate Co. and"Quadruple Plate" with the number 765 impressed. It is also stamped"Hard White Metal" Victorian art glass bowls such as this were often paired with elaborate brides basket frames(as they are called today) made by companies such as Meriden. Wilcox, James Tufts, Derby or Webster. I do not know who the maker of the bowl is. This could be a piece by Thomas Webb or one of the famous makers of

Up for auction is a fantastic victorian silver plate figural brides basket by meridan silverplate co. No 7015 with a gorgeous cased bowl which is also marked with the numbers 1023/9 700. Silverplate basket is in excellent condition. Bowl does have an age crack which can be seen from the inside only. The crack is long and at one point in time some dark spots formed under the inside surface near it. There is also four figural feet on the silverplate bowl. This is part of an estate and the bowl& basket have been together a very long time. The crack can only be seen on the inside not from the outside. It can also be seen on outside bottom of bowl. Both pieces look beautiful together. Basket overall measures 13" high x 11" across.

This is a wonderful piece of Victorian silver from approx. 1860-1899. Signed ROGERS SILVER CO. Connecticut. This lovely basket is 13" long and 7+" high to top of handle. It is in excellent condition; just a little silver wear and a some dots, but does not take away from it a bit. Still a beautiful display! Handle and hinges is in excellent working condition. Victorian Silver Plate Brides Handled Basket Meriden Co. Antique Pedestal Bowl
A victorian silverplate brides basket bowl with pivoting handle. Made by the Meriden Company of Meriden Connecticut. Unpolished, No plating loss. No personal monogram present. Marked on the bottom with the traditional makers mark“Meriden B. Company. Quadruple Plate, 1887” Dates to the early 1900’s. Measures a full 10 inches in diameter. 4 3/4 inch base diameter, 5 1/4 inches to top rim and 12 1/2 inches to top of the handle. Condition is great as there are NO chips. Cracks, plating loss or repairs present, there is scratches in the well of the bowl and rim(see close-up photo) We accept PayPal. Visa and Master Card payments for shipping purchases. E. G. Webster Antique Silver Plate Footed Brides Basket/ Bowl(1859-1928) Other than a few minor surface scratches. It is in very good vintage condition. I see no dents or other major imperfections. There is one spot on the face where the handle hits that shows some wear(see last photo) It does look like someone tried to polish it and didn’t get all of the polishing compound off. The handle does not stay upright on its own. The basket measures approximately 10” across. And stands about 3.5” high(9.5” with handle) The bowl is about 1.5” at its deepest point. It has the numbers 0613 next to the maker's mark. I acquired this item from an estate sale and have no history on it. Please use photos to make condition determination. I am not a silver collector. The basket stands 14 inches tall to the top of the handle. The frame is adorned with humming birds and flowers with no breaks in the welds or frame and no repairs. The glass bowl is not original to the frame but will come with it. There are no chips or ... morecracks in the bowl and it is free of stains. Up for auction is a beautiful brides basket or brides bowl frame made in the later 1800's. Most likely. This frame fits a bowl with an oval base. There is plate loss and one of the handles will need repair where it's separated at the top. Other than this, I see no other breaks or repairs. I cannot find a mark on this piece anywhere. It's possible it was made by Meriden or one of the predecessor companies like Racine or Rockford or Aurora silver plate company. Other high end makers of these types of articles were James W. Tufts, Derby, Wilcox and Pairpoint. The detail on this is very nice, especially the four legs that feature faces of mythical-looking woodsmen or perhaps the Four Winds. The piece is large. It stands about 10" tall overall. The holder is quadruple silver plating by Forbes Silver Co. The bowl is 10” wide x 3-3/4” tall. The holder is 11” tall x 10” wide. The holder is marked with Forbes’ hallmark. There is wear to the glass from the holder and age. There is wear and loss to the enamel work as well. There is some loss of silver to the holder as well as tarnish and patina. There are no cracks or chips. There are surface scratches. Please. Victorian Mt Washington Cranberry Brides Bowl & Silver Plate Basket
Beautifully Enamel Painted Floral Mt Washington Cranberry Brides Bowl. The flowers are exquisitely painted. Most of the gold is gone. Bowl has 1 small chip on the underside of one ruffle. Please see detailed photos for conditions. Bowl measures 9 3/4" wide x 5 1/8" tall. Does have a few air bubbles in center of glass. Nice heavy big bowl. Brides basket is. I believe, a Meridian. Stands 11 1/2" tall x 11" wide with a 4 1/4" bowl fitter. Has one missing piece on the side. Silver plate seems in good condition. Could use a cleaning. This is not a light weight basket. ANTIQUE BARBOUR CO. SILVER PLATE BRIDES BASKET BOWL FRAME - AESTHETIC DEER HEAD
Up for auction is a very nice silver plated brides bowl or brides basket frame for an art glass bowl or insert. Much like the ones made by Mt. Washington or the Bohemian glass houses of Europe at the turn of the last century. This frame has a very nice design with shells around the perimeter of the base, scrolls on the four legs and feet and most whimsical of all it features a stag or deer's head on either side of the handles. This is clearly marked"Barbour Bros Co Silver" and"Quadruple" as well as the numbers"233" There is wear to the plate but it still displays just beautifully. The diameter of the base where a bowl or insert would rest is 4-1/8" The larger diameter that rises up at this base is 5.25" There is a distance of 8.75" between the handles at the widest. And the distance between ... morethe base itself, where the bowl would rest up to the underside of the top of the handle is 8.75" The overall height is 13" and it's approximately 9.5" wide. There were many very fine and high quality silver plate manufacturers during the later 1800's through the early 1900's. These included Pairpoint. Meriden, James Tufts, Wilcox Silver, Derby Silver and Rockford Silver Plate Co. This piece is made by the Barbour Bros Co. which was originally organized in 1892 in Hartford CT. It eventually became part of the International Silver Co. in the late 1890's. There is one issue to note. In that the inside handle, where it meets the outside handle has separated at the joint. This is visible in the first photo on the left towards the top of the piece. This is actually not very noticeable as it can be gently pushed back into place and will stay. The strength and stability of the piece is not compromised however and it's very sturdy. Other than this one small issue, I see no other breaks or cracks or repairs to this frame. Up for auction is a beautiful and LARGE brides basket or brides bowl frame made by James W. Tufts of Boston. MA. Tufts was one of the best manufacturers of this type of fancy Victorian goods during the late 1800's when these were in high fashion. This piece is large and is just beautiful and in wonderful condition as well. There is minimal to no loss at all to the silver plate. The piece stands about 17" tall overall. The base or bed has a dimpled pattern which gives it added character. This is 5.5" across. The two side pieces have a width of about 6-1/8" The width of the handles at the widest is 8" Interior. The height from the base or the bed to the underside of the top of the frame is 10.5" The four legs have storks or herons and there are also acanthus leaves adorning the frame. This is clearly marked on the ... morebottom"James W. Tufts" and"Boston MA" with the number 131 and"Warranted" It's also marked"Quadruple Plate" This frame is very versatile in the fact that it does not need to be paired exactly to your favorite glass bowl's base. This piece is designed to accommodate almost any size piece of antique glass. Porcelain or pottery by simply sitting on the base. This allows it to display a variety of your pieces rather than try to match the diameter of a bowl's base to the frame's. It's ornate enough to compliment any piece displayed as well. These frames were often paired with plain or enamel art glass bowls by famous glass houses of the 1800's like Mt. Washington. Hobbs Brockunier and Stevens& Williams.
