The glass insert is in good condition with no visible cracks or chips and no staining of the glass. The shape of the bowl is unusual in that there are four indentions on the sides for the silver plate grape cluster to fit into. The bowl is original to the holder and measures about 8 inches wide and 2.25 inches tall. The insert stands 6 inches tall to the top of the grape cluster on the rim and 7 inches wide. The total height is 7 inches while the bowl is resting on the stand. No monograms or repairs Silver plate shows ware as shown in the pictures. According to the Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers(Rainwater) The St. Louis Silver Company made its debut under that name in 1904. The company has no public record after 1912, which means they were in business only a short while. That means that not many pieces are on the market a century later. In the antiques market, rarity adds considerably to the value of an item. This listing is for a rare quadruple silver plated brides basket centerpiece. And it has the manufacturer's stamping of the St. Louis Silver Company. The basket is at least 100 years old. And will show wear to the plating and some scratches commensurate to age and use. The very center of the inside of the basket shows wear(see photos) and then the underside- which is very common in these pieces. ... moreI trust you can see what a stunning antique basket this really is. There's an area encircling the inside center of the basket that has a mild crease- as though the top were pushed down on the legs a little bit. I tried to photograph it. But it isn't showing up in the pictures well at all. The Aesthetic Movement design of the basket features florals. Acanthus leaves and(I think) a waterlily leaf at the top of the handle. The patterns are engraved and also utilized on the applied rim encircling the basket and on the swing handle. The legs of this basket are just fabulous, and epitomize the High Victorian flair. Overall the basket stands 9" high to the top of the handle. The widest area across the top of the basket measures 10-3/4" The manufacturer's stamping is located on the underside. This beautiful basket features elaborately detailed designs popular in the Victorian era. Very sturdy with four feet and a fold down handle. This makes a beautiful centerpiece. Or on a buffet table. Fill it with pastel Easter eggs. Brightly colored Christmas balls, or flowers. Heavily patinaed with discoloration to the quadruple plate. Antique Ruffled Brides Basket in Cherub Si lver Plate Stand I am selling a lovely Brides Basket Centerpiece of a Winged Cherub holding up a ruffled bowl. The variation of colors on the ruffled bowl is beautiful and there is raised enameling inside and out. The bowl is free of any cracks or chips. The victorian silver plate centerpiece did have the top part that holds the bowl soldered back on to the piece as evidenced in the photos. This is a solid repair. However if you look under the piece or inside you can see the solder. This is not noticeable when the bowl is in place or when you are looking straight at the piece. It appears to be slightly uneven in the repair when you look at it from underneath, but with the bowl in place it is straight. ANTIQUE HARTFORD? SILVER PLATE 1000 VICTORIAN ART DECO BRIDE BASKET CENTERPIECE STAND this is marked with the number 1000 and I believe it is HARTFORD however is not marked as such. It's a beautiful stand from the late 1800's. It is in good condition- it has some tarnish. Discoloration, light scratches and scuffs from use, there is one small dent in the platter portion(please see pictures) along with some minor scratches and marks. Beautiful and large Reed and Barton bride or centerpiece basket measures 17" to top of handle and 9" in diameter. The figure measures 5/58" tall. The bottom is 4 1/2" in diameter. Marked Reed and Barton#712 and also#2120. There is the letter C inside the bowl and a solder repair underneath the top and inside the bowl. This is the same repair. Brides Basket Silverplated Pairpoint Quadruple Plate 1245 Centerpiece Floral
Pairpoint silverplate basket. Quite a bit of wear and a couple of condition issues. No large chips or major plate loss. The base has been leaned on. So it is a little pushed down on one side which causes the basket to lean. The rim on the front(or back) is pushed in a little bit. Handle is fine and no other issues are apparent to me, but if you can think of a potential issue that might exist, please ask. Very nice scrolling arond the bowl edge and two floral engravings in the bowl. The diameter of the inner part of the bowl is 8" The basket stands 4 3/4" to the rim. The handle, from the hinges, adds about another 7" The basket weighs a bit over 1 lb 11 oz. The underneath ares have quite a bit of tarnish.
