Offered is this remarkable silver plated fruit basket or footed bowl made in New Bedford. Massachusetts, by Pairpoint. The patent date is Jan. 31, 1893. The piece is numbered 1249. This rectangular footed basket has a movable handle that has a design of apples with foliage and stems. The center of the basket also features an apple branch with apples and leaves. The rim of the bowl is fluted with the corners folded up. A chased design appears on the outside of the four corners of the basket. A pierced border encircles the bottom of the basket. The feet featuresflowers with a ribbon or banner. We are pleased to present this Victorian era Bride's Basket for your consideration. Made of Silverplate. The piece features an unusual Crowned Heads decoration around its ornate rim. The handle that once went over the top of this ... morepiece is missing(the holes where it connected are still visible) But the remaining Fruit Basket remains a charming and attention grabbing piece with a one-of-a-kind look. The Basket is 3-3/4 inches high and about 12-1/2 inches in diameter. Measured at the rim. The bottom of the base is 4-5/8 inches in diameter, and the Basket weighs 1 pound 13 ounces. There are two hand written marks etched into the finish. On the bottom, in the center, is what appears to be the numbers 247. To the side of the center section is another marking that reads Q5741. We have not been able to determine the manufacturer of this piece. The Basket has been polished and is quite shiny. But small areas of patina remain along with a few small spots of verdigris. Some light surface wear is found, but less than might be expected on a piece of this age. Other than the missing handle, there is no damage or repairs, and we rate the overall condition as very good(see pictures) This is a fantastic piece of Victorian Silverplate. Beautiful Vintage Silverplate Brides Basket W/Bowl!!!!
Here is a Vintage Brides Basket W/Bowl. The basket is Quadruple Plate and is by Pairpoint Mfg. Co. The Bowl is a peach like color and white with gold. I could not find a maker on the bowl but it is in excellent condition no chip's or crack's and display's very well. The basket is tarnished has a little bend to it and has scratches. I have no idea if these 2 go together but they look very good together and display very well. The bowl measure's 3 1/4" deep and is 9 3/8" across. The basket with handle up is about 12 1/4" high and the inside part where the bowl goes is 9 3/4" x 9 1/8" I'm no expert on this but will answer any questions the best I can.Sold as is. Looks like a petite stamped pattern in the lightly textured& satin" finish background which makes the repousse design"pop" This is a large size& the hinged handle is appropriate to the size. Unmarked. Dating to the late 19C period. Measures approx. 11-3/4" long x 8" wide x 3-1/4" tall(not including the handle) Beautiful used condition. Some bends along the edge but not bad. A couple of tiny dings in the center embossed pattern, very small and they seem to coordinate with the footing work below so I think they occurred ... morein the making. I gave it a light polishing but it needs more, particularly to the under/outside surface. I leave additional polishing to the new owner if desired. The silver plating seems to be in very good condition, I'm not seeing evidence of much wear at all, very minimal& light surface scratching, nothing distracting. This brides basket is stunning! It has three winged putti and they are holding on to the middle of the lower part of the basket.They are nude except for a tiny leaf covering their fronts.Their back sides are showing. The bottom of the basket has a leaf in the middle and their toes are attched to it. The bowl of the basket is flutted all the way around. When you look at it from the top it looks just like a flower. The center of the silverplate bowl has a sean on two diffrent sides. On one side there is a house and trees and mountains. On the other side there is flowers and leaves and a tiny blue bird. This piece has so much going on.No damage to the piece we can find and the silverplate seems to be 85 per cent there maby more. The mark is under the tiny leaf and hard to read but i know what it is it says Rogers and Brothers Tripple plate and ... morein the middle of a circle it has a hand with lightning coming from it. Its very worn and im sure there was a number but i can not read it. This mark dates it to 1860. This piece was professionally sealed years ago to keep from cleaning it so often. It is starting to turn dark in some places. The sealer can be removed easy with hot water. The bowl inside is carinival glass, green is the base color then looking at it it has many colors pink, purple,dark blue,gold, A lot of color hews. The only damage i can find to the bowl is a tiny sliver chip on one of the flutted areas on the rim.Hard to film. No maker mark on the bowl. Please look at all(pictures) and( ASK ANY QUESTIONS BEFOR BIDDING. THANK YOU. The silverplate basket is 5 tall by 7 inches diameter. The glass incert is 9 diameter by 2 3/4. Togather they are 7 tall. Offered for sale is this lovely Victorian Quadruple plate frame for a bride's basket. It is an exceptional example with bold wildflowers on the open handles. The frame is made to hold an oval shaped bowl. It measures 9 3/4" high. 6 3/4" end to end and 5 3/4" wide. It will accept a bowl 5 3/4" long and 3 3/4" wide. The bottom has the Tufts quadruple plate mark and is numbered"2276. The frame is in very good estate condition with no damage or repairs noted. The original patina is just beautiful. The frame holds an oval insert in the Early American Pattern Glass"Shell and Tassel" design. It was made by George Duncan and introduced in 1880. Starr, New York(Late 1800s-1924) The interior medallion design- cupid with bow and arrow surrounded by grapes on vines- is identical to the motif found on Theodore Starr's sterling bowls. Although many of Theodore Starr's pieces were sterling, some were silver over copper(silverplate) If you look closely at the wear on the bottom of the feet, you can see the copper. Gorgeous 19th Century Bridal Brides Basket, Antique Glass HP Bowl, Silverplate
Up for sale is a beautiful Victorian 19th century bride's basket with hand-painted cased glass fluted bowl and quadruple silverplated holder with ornate handle. The color on the upside of the bowl begins with a clear edge then flows from dark rose to pale pink and very pale pink in the center. Yellow dots. Flowers, and scrollwork and blue and white flowers are all handpainted: You can feel the depth of the paint, which is in very good condition. Silver color leaves also grace the bowl, but some of this paint seems to have faded. I see no chips or cracks in the glass bowl. There are minute spots of what looks like ash on the all-white bottom; there is also a bubble in the finish of the upside that looks and feels a bit like a pimple and is about the size of a pencil eraser; these are from the manufacturing process done more than one hundred ... moreyears ago. The quadruple silverplated basket was made by the New Amsterdam Silver Co. and has the number 2971 engraved in the bottom; the number 5446-x is etched into the bottom. The basket is in good condition but is in need of polishing. The base appears to have most of its silverplate intact with the exception of the inside of the base where the bowl sits; some parts of this have a greenish cast. The handle seems to have some silverplate loss as well as some minute pitting. All in all this is a wonderful piece for something that could very easily be 115 years old. Bowl is 11" in diameter at its widest. 3" high, and 3 1/2" across the base. Holder is 12 1/2" at its widest and 13" high. Please ask questions. For sale is an elegant Victorian period ornate-handled quadruple silver plated brides basket holder with a clear fancy glass bowl. The basket is in good condition: There are no dents or damage. Other than some scratches where the bowl and basket have been in contact for more than a hundred years. The silver plate seems to be all there; it's tarnished but should polish up well. The basket is 9" high and 9 1/4" at its widest. The bowl has an intricate design, including four rows of diamond shapes that have a gold cast to them. The bowl is 8" across and is in excellent condition: No chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs. Inside the bowl behind the top row of gold diamonds looks like hard water stains; however it's all the way around, so it I believe it must have been part of the manufacturing process. Victorian Brides Basket Silverplate Quadruple Plate Clear-Cased Peach Glass Bowl
For sale is a beautiful brides basket bowl sitting in an ornate handled quadruple silver plated stand. The fluted bowl is a gorgeous peach color all over except for a clear cased upper edge; there may be a peach case on top of the clear case or it's an optical illusion. I can't tell which. It's in excellent antique condition: No chips, breaks, cracks, or repairs. I do see bubbles and a couple of minute rough spots in the glass, all part of having been manufactured over a hundred years ago; there are scratches in the glass, but because I can not feel them, I think they might literally be IN the glass. The bowl is unmarked and has a smoothe pontil with one rough spot. It measures 8 1/2" across the top, 3 1/2" tall, and 3 7/8" across the base/foot. The stand is incredibly ornate with ribbed handles that form a knot ... moreat the top and have one strawberry and three sets of three leaves on each side. The handles connect in four places to a 6 3/4" round base base with a 4" diameter hole that receives the base of the bowl. The base has a ribbed bottom lip and four ornate feet. The stand is 12" at its widest and 10 1/2" tall. The base is marked, but unfortunately it is only a partial mark: Top. or Tor. Company Quadruple Plate 2 10. It is tarnished, but I believe most of the silverplate is present; it should polish up nicely. There are some scratches inside the basket where the bowl sits, but the stand is in otherwise excellent conditon. This will make a nice addition to your collection. ART DECO CENTERPIECE SILVERPLATE BOWL BASKET COMPOTE
I rescued this piece and now that I need to downsize. It is time to pass it along. The design is beautiful.really a stunning art deco design in the bowl. It also has a good weight so hold whatever very well. I like to use it for dessert.just served my biscottis in it. In fact. Marked on the bottom: triple plate and 73. I can't make out the maker's mark. I do think this is early art deco. Dimensions: 9" in diameter 6-1/8" to top of bowl(11" to top of handle) Condition: Has some areas of wear. But no pitting. There is a darker spot on the handle which may just be tarnish accumulated; I don't want to be too aggressive with the cleaning. It also has some small scratches in the ce nter of the bowl but no pitting. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
