Victorian Meriden Silver Plate Pedestal Basket. Handle, Woman On Tiger 1875-1890 Presented is a great Victorian piece of American silver plate. It is a pedestal footed basket with a swing handle. Made by Meriden. The bowl has very unusual designs showing a bare-breasted woman reclining on a tiger. The front end of the tiger is all tiger. But its back end is serpentine. The woman is holding up a cup of some sort of libation. They are resting in a lush leafy setting. A two-tiered floral border encircles the bowl. And a floral motif finishes off the handle. The dish stands at just under 6 inches tall. With the handle upright. It reaches to 7 2/8 inches. Please scroll down to see our photographs. The base is marked for Meriden B. Company. Whose full name was Meriden Britannia Company, Connecticut. The piece dates to 1875-1890. A pattern number ... more1786 is stamped underneath. The swing handle does not stay upright. But this could be adjusted professionally by the buyer to make it do so. There is a little wear to the plating the bowl. And more substantial wear to the plating on the underside of the bowl. The wear is not noticeable with how the bowl stands. There are no dents, no dings, and no other problems of any kind. The piece is in good condition, especially for its age. Victorian Silver Plate Brides Handled Basket Meriden Co. Antique Pedestal Bowl
A victorian silverplate brides basket bowl with pivoting handle. Made by the Meriden Company of Meriden Connecticut. Unpolished, No plating loss. No personal monogram present. Marked on the bottom with the traditional makers mark“Meriden B. Company. Quadruple Plate, 1887” Dates to the early 1900’s. Measures a full 10 inches in diameter. 4 3/4 inch base diameter, 5 1/4 inches to top rim and 12 1/2 inches to top of the handle. Condition is great as there are NO chips. Cracks, plating loss or repairs present, there is scratches in the well of the bowl and rim(see close-up photo) We accept PayPal. Visa and Master Card payments for shipping purchases. Up for bid is this vintage silverplated bridal basket. This is a vintage piece could use polishing but looks great with it's patina. This basket was made by the well-know company Pairpoint. The basket is marked and numbered. This piece measures 5" at the base and the top 10" It measues 5.5" from top to base or roughly 14" from top of handle to base. Meriden Paw foot pedestal Silver Plate Brides Basket c1900
I have for sale a wonderful antique silver plate brides basket which measures 11 inches tall with handle up and 9 1/4 inches to the inside of each handle while being 10 inches at its widest part on the tray for the glass bowl I hope you have that fits. The feet are a awesome claw n ball. There is slight loos of plating as expected but this is a great one for your victorian era glass bowl. Signed on base Meriden quad plate.

A beautiful Simpson Hall Miller& Co.silver plate pedestal compote. Circa 1890's#1492. Stamped on bottom Simpson Hall Miller& Co. Treble Plate. Rim is 5/8" wide with a beautiful detailed pattern. Piece across is approx. 9 in. Height without handle is almost 7 in. Piece is in very good vintage condition with some light finish ware. No dents or scratches. Very nice piece.
