Rockford Silver Quadruple Plate Basket with Handle. 9 inch diameter 7 1/2 inch height with handle. I polished up the center and the bottom a little for photo's. There is a flower pattern on the inside surface that looks like tulips or daffodils. The handle has a beaded ridge and orntate pattern. Nice antique piece of silver. There are not any dings or dents or unforgiveable scratches.

Pickle Castor , Rockford Silver Basket, Lid & wheel cut Glass liner c.1890 Jar
This beautifully ornate Castor stands 8" high with its' lid inplace. The lovely design wheel cut into the domed lid attempts to match the etching on the 4" wide by 2" high flared lead crystal liner. The liner is not damaged but its' lip might benefit from a minor buffing. The piece shows signs of old silver polish in the nooks and crannies and really needs dipping and polishing.I didn't do this incase I destroyed what a collector might consider important patina on the piece) There is a piece of a side decoration snapped off(see photo) but honestly it doesn't detract from the beauty of this piece. Rockford Silver Handled Bride's Cake Basket, Engraved Floral Berries Silverplate
This listing is for a Antique Rockford. Bride's Basket or Pedestal Cake Basket in Silverplate, number 1814. The piece features a beautiful wildflower engraved plate with a shallow rum well. The sides of the plate and base have an embossed berries, leaves and flowers design. The base unscrews from the top for easier carrying. The piece was likely originally sold as a Cake Basket and is very versatile as a cake stand. Dessert or card tray or as part of a floral arrangement. Inside the foot of the base is marked"Quadruple Plate, Rockford Silver Plate Co 1814" with the Rockford scales logo. The piece likely dates to the late Victorian Era. The piece measures 8 7/8" across the tray. 9 3/4" across the outer lip, 6 1/2" high to the tray and weighs 2 lbs 6.4 oz. The piece has no notable dings. Dents or bends. Near the ... morebase of the foot there is one deep 1/4" gouge, hidden well due to it's location. The plate is in good condition with some light marks in the rum well. There are light scratches as commonly found on silverware from storage or light use. The piece has a nice even antique patina and could be polished further should one desire. Beautiful quadruple silverplate footed basket with bird handles. Someone else sold the same one on eBay a few months ago. They had it listed as a brides basket. I am not so sure since it is rather small for a brides basket. Thought it might be a condiment holder in which case the glass piece is missing. Either way. It is very pretty. I polished it as it was completely black when I found it. It will clean further but it took a lot of polishing to get it this clean. One foot appears to have been fixed. There are soldering marks along the top of the foot where it meets the rim of the base(see photos) Mainly evident from the inside but you can see a light excess mark along the rim on the outside. One scallop along the rim seems to be slightly pressed in(see photos) Circa 1900- 1925 Hallmark Rockford Silver P. Co.
