The glass bowl is one of the nicest that I have seen. It has fabulous Enamel Decorations, of leaves and floral detailing. It measures approx 12-1/2" diameter. It is in Excellent Condition- I would call it perfect albeit a most minor flat spot on the rim that appears to be a manufacturing nuance, not damage. I have looked at this with a magnifying glass and it is obvious after observing this first hand that it is not a chip but a flat spot somehow done during manufacture. Although extremely difficult to view, I have a pic of the area shown in my last pic. The frame is in Excellent Condition. Made of Quadruple Silver Plate by the Wilcox Silver-Plate Co. It stands approx 10-3/4" tall and approx 12-3/4" across. Both the decorated bowl and the Silver-Plate frame are gorgeous. The item comes direct from the collection of an area advance collector. Sold to me when settling her estate. The underside of the bowl bears a sticker that either she attached or was the sale price back in the day. The glass bowl will be packaged and shipped in a separate parcel from the silver plate frame in order to assure as best one can safe delivery. This listing is for a two piece silverplate and glass brides basket bowl. The bottom of the silver plated holder reads Meriden Silverplate Co. 0719. As seen in the pictures. This piece stands about 7 1/2" high to the top of the glass bowl portion and measures 10 1/4" across the top rim. The silverplate holder is very ornate, with the handles resembling a branch with birds resting on them. A bird pattern is also repeated just above the basefoot. The peg bottom glass bowl has a scalloped rim and a frosted flower(rose? and ribbon pattern. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There are a few white specks in the glass that are ... moreas made. There are also a few air bubbles and straw marks in the glass that are as made. The silver plate frame has no dents and no splits. Derby CT Quadrupleplate. It measures approx. 9 1/4" across and 5 1/4" high(10" high with the handles. It is in shabby chic condition with plate loss and scratches from loving use over the last 100 years or so. We found this history on the Derby Historical Organization's site online(great site! The Derby Silver Company was founded in 1872. And began operations on Shelton's Canal Street one year later. The company soon outgrew its quarters and constructed a larger building, which still stands on Bridge Street, Shelton, in 1877 near the Housatonic River, overlooking Derby. A number of additions were added in subsequent years. The original Canal Street building was razed when the railroad was built through Shelton in 1888. The company made toilet articles. Mirrors, combs, clocks, brushes, table and flatware, tea sets, children's cups, loving cups(trophies) candlesticks, fruit baskets, dishes, basically anything which was plated by or made of silver. 19th Century Victorian Brides' Basket. Marked James W. Tufts Boston Warranted, Quadruple Plate, with a mark 128 and a 6. There is an etched number of 25725 as well. This is a very fancy stand with elaborate decoration. The bowl is 10 1/2” Diameter in a light mauve color with ruffled and corrugated rim and very skillfully hand-painted in a floral pattern. There are two innocuous hairline cracks in the clear inside casing only. The white outside casing is unaffected(see red dots) Otherwise the Brides' Basket is in Excellent Condition with the silver plate and the metal unflawed. Up for auction is a Victorian Brides Basket with a beautiful Green/White glass bowl. The silver plated holder has come un-soldered on one side. But it's not the actual handle it's the decorative piece. It does not affect the handle at all. The bowl has not cracks and the only imperfection I've found was on the inside and it looks like it might have been made that way. It measures approx 10"w x12" t. This is a very beautiful piece. The art glass insert is milk glass with shades of purple on the ruffled border and clear glass edging. The silverplate is monogrammed- looks like G and HW and dated 1899. This is a beautiful Silver Plated Brides Basket/ Fruit Basket. There is an impressed stamp on the bottom which reads: Pairpoint Mfg. Co. New Bedford, Mass, Quadruple Plate, Pat. Jan. 31, 1893 and number 1249. This item is 120 years old. A lot of embossing on this basket. Looks like a branch with apples on the inside bottom which are raised on the inside and punched in on the underneath. Branches, leaves and apples make up the handle which is hinged. 4 feet on which to stand with a gallery above the feet. Looks like the four corners which are indented in have an engraved design on them. This Basket is in excellent condition showing no wear on the silver. It looks like it was not cleaned ... morefor some time as it is tarnished and the pictures will probably show up dark on the computer. I am leaving it as it is for the new owners to clean themselves. It measures 10 1/4 inches long, 8 1/2 inches wide and stands 3 inches high, 8 inches high with the handle up. We are pleased to present this Victorian era Bride's Basket for your consideration. Made of Silverplate. The piece features an unusual Crowned Heads decoration around its ornate rim. The handle that once went over the top of this ... morepiece is missing(the holes where it connected are still visible) But the remaining Fruit Basket remains a charming and attention grabbing piece with a one-of-a-kind look. The Basket is 3-3/4 inches high and about 12-1/2 inches in diameter. Measured at the rim. The bottom of the base is 4-5/8 inches in diameter, and the Basket weighs 1 pound 13 ounces. There are two hand written marks etched into the finish. On the bottom, in the center, is what appears to be the numbers 247. To the side of the center section is another marking that reads Q5741. We have not been able to determine the manufacturer of this piece. The Basket has been polished and is quite shiny. But small areas of patina remain along with a few small spots of verdigris. Some light surface wear is found, but less than might be expected on a piece of this age. Other than the missing handle, there is no damage or repairs, and we rate the overall condition as very good(see pictures) This is a fantastic piece of Victorian Silverplate. This listing is for a lovely Rogers Smith Co Meriden basket from around the late 1800's-early 1900's with engraved Hummingbird and bee design-Signed by the artist on bottom!see photo of mark) It is a lovely piece with open daisy handle as well with the skirt having detailed aesthetic pattern as well as the side of the handles. The base and top flat area of rim are plain. And to bring out the effect of the piece I left natural patina from age on those areas. They I believe would shine up nicely if you choose. Some people like the patina, but the bowl would not have shown so beautifully if I had not shined it up. There are a few speckles that will shine up as well, but just wanted to give an idea of beauty of piece. The oval daisy area of the handle is a different metal, so that is probably the darkness it is, but is very pretty like ... morethat. It measures 10" across, 7 1/4" to top of basket with a 7" high handle. This piece would have been a stand alone with the engraving. Some pieces as you probably know were made to hold a glass piece, this one would not have. A tiny nearly invisible surface indentation shown in photo of flat edge with bee, just along that edge. Lovely. Ornate- so Victorian! Silverplate Bride's Basket In Victorian days. A very common and suitable gift for a young bride or bride-to-be would be a silver or silverplate Bride's basket. She would place it on the front table where it would soon be filled with well-wishes from family and friends. The main features of the basket are the handle and the wide rim. The basket is also somewhat raised on its base. So it appears very much like a real basket you might see made of straw and natural materials. So it takes one somewhat aback to see the basket design in the more elegant medium of silverplate. This one has such a lovely. Ornate repousse design to it! I can only speculate as to the purpose, and I feel it must have held a bowl or basket, such as a brides basket. the base has a ram, a baby sheep and a bird. around the top where the bowl would sit, are grapes and leaves. the base is like rocky ground. the best description is the photos, so please take your time and view the pictures. the piece is 7.5" tall and the top is about 6.5" wide. condition is wonderful. DESCRIPTION: Offered Here is a fabulous super ornate Victorian Silverplate circa 1870s Pedestal Swing Handle Bride's or Cake Basket. This basket is an early Aesthetic Victorian era Basket produced and plated by the Reed& Barton silversmiths of Taunton. Mass. The silver craftsmanship is excellent. This basket is supper ornate in ornamentation and has gorgeous molded figural elements. Including three winged heads on the pedestal base where it meets the bowl and curled acanthus leaf feet attached to the pedestal base with a central spire. There is an outstretched Fox and bird prey on the handle. The interior of the bowl is adorned with deep chased birds on an Oak and acorn branch that is entwined with Grape vines with clusters of grapes. There are ... morealso chased leaves on the pedestal base and four large spires pointing down from the ribbed edge of the bowl. This basket stands approx 7" in height with the handle down and 13" with the handle extended. It is 10" in diameter and stands on an ornate 5" pedestal base. The underside is marked for Reed& Barton with a Patent date of 1871 for the ornamentation above the Reed& Barton stamp. There are no breaks or repairs. There are some scratches from use and some slight silver loss to be expected from age. There is also some remnants of an old type paste silver polish. This is a silverplate Bride's Basket from 1848. I've had this item for awhile and its about time it deserves a proper place, meaning it would best served to be used by an intended bride.fits the occasion as"something old" to walk down the isle with if its your cup of tea. This basket has no makers mark except a small"M" embossed on the inner rim of the base(see last picture) however, look at the craftsmanship of the hinges and chase work, this item was well made and crafted exquisitely for its time(the hinge work is very impressive) looks to me like typically New England craft of the era, the basket is embossed on the bottom side already with initals of the gift giver and the initials of the couple(see picture 2 and 4) as for the silverplate, it needs to be polished and it would be stunning, has a small ding on ... morebottom rim(see picture 8) which can easily be repaired, Ive have done nothing to it so to maintain its integrity as a collectors piece, the way I found it is the way you see it. This is one JUMBO Brides Basket ~ Very large and heavy FIGURAL Elephant Frame with a large Rubina Decorated Ribbed and Ruffled Bowl with Fruit enameled inside and out. This terrific piece has full elephant heads and trunks up it has an india feel to it. The frame stands 7-1/2" tall with the bowl its 12" tall. The holder on the inside of the frame has some sodering on it has no effect on the intregity of the stand. There are 3 rings on the bottom of the stand which could have originally had a chain on it. But its now missing, personally I think it would make it too busy. Now the bowl Cranberry to Milk Glass ribbed decorated with fruit both inside and out. The glass insert is in good condition with no visible cracks or chips and no staining of the glass. The shape of the bowl is unusual in that there are four indentions on the sides for the silver plate grape cluster to fit into. The bowl is original to the holder and measures about 8 inches wide and 2.25 inches tall. The insert stands 6 inches tall to the top of the grape cluster on the rim and 7 inches wide. The total height is 7 inches while the bowl is resting on the stand. No monograms or repairs Silver plate shows ware as shown in the pictures. The basket stands about 2 inches tall to the rim and 8.5 inches tall to the top of the handle and 12.5 inches wide measuring corner to corner. The design is fantastic featuring the butler finish on the center of the bowl giving it a softer silver plate finish and embossed roses and etching with a wide scroll border. There is no monograms or dents and the silver plat is in good condition with a few spots of missing plate on the center of the basket as shown. insurance is included in the cost of shipping. The Bowl which is a Lucius Cranberry Satin tightly ruffled bowl decorated in purple with white forget me knots the bowl measures 10-1/2" across and is in wonderful condition. One of the prettiest bowls I've seen in a while. The total height is 13" tall and is truly an elegant piece. The condition of the frame the silver appears to be in good condition with minimal plate loss. The bowl had been weighted on the bottom with plaster of paris and green felt was placed over it. Antique brides basket peachblow bowl by Stevens & Williams Victorian
This is a beautiful brides basket with an ornate quad plate frame by Wilcox Silver Plate Company. The frame is 8 ¾ inches tall and 9 ½ inches wide. The bowl was made by Stevens& Williams and is peachblow. The bowl is hand blown. Is 8 ¾ inches in diameter and 2 ½ inches high. It has an amber border. This set dates to the late 19 th century. The bowl is in excellent condition with no damage. The frame has no damage but it has lost some much of its silver as is common with quadruple plate.

Silver plate brides basket or perhaps a calling card holder. Piece has sort of bright cut floral pattern. I have included a photo of the Meriden mark. Piece measures about 6&1/2 inches wide at widest and stands about 4 inches tall. Piece is in very good used condition. There are a few dents and some slight scratches but overall pretty good. Quadruple Plate with the Meriden maker's logo and numbered: 01602. Aesthetic etched pattern on interior bowl portion with stylistic leaves and flowers. Border is repousse flowers. And leaves. Aside from needing a good silver polishing there is one flaw on the UNDERSIDE of bowl where there is plating that has worn off(I have shown 2 images, 8& 9 that show this) some small spots on the center circle of bowl. This listing is for a lovely romantic art nouveau brides basket that is a harder to find company. It was made by Queen City Silver Co. out of Cincinnati Ohio. Numbers on bottom indicate it was made in 1893. It is in excellent condition for age with no dents and just a couple minor small spots of plate loss on relief areas of flowers that just looks like reflection so you don't notice it. The very edge handle have a couple small spots of plate loss as well. But not enough to detract from the piece or grab your attention and I only therefore mention for accuracy. The art nouveau lines are lovely and the handle is just as decorative as the basket. This is a vintage Victorian. I believe Webb Glass peach blown bridal bowl and basket. The basket says it is, Made and Guaranteed by Meriden B Company, 1738. The basket measures 11 1/4" tall x 5 3/4" in diameter at the base. The bowl measures 11 3/4" in diameter. It has a clear opalescent glass rim and a semi-polished pontil on the bottom. It is in excellent condition, no chips, cracks or repair. It does have a couple of bubbles. The basket could use a polishing, but is otherwise in very good condition. It is listed in my store. Welcome. While cleaning& organizing, I came across this beautiful Victorian brides cake basket in silverplate by the Barbour silver co. This one is a scalloped oval shape with a bright cut design inside& lots of ornate features, especially the handle& the footed base. It measures 8 1/2" x 11 1/2" x 3 3/8" tall(without the handle up) About 10" tall with the handle up but it doesn't stay up very well. It's a little tarnished but I don't see any loss of the silver plating on it. It weighs right at 2 lbs. without the packaging. It will be sent insured.

Above that is a 1/4 inch band of scrolling work going all the way around. The mane band of the body has large campus leaves some round leaves, large flowers, small flowers and vines. Then there is another 1/4 inch band of scrolling work. The band that holds the glass bowl has a deep stripe pattern all the way around. The C shape connectors that connect the handle to the basket has flowers inside and out and round balls that connect it to the basket ring.The handle is a twisted handle. This silverplate basket has so much going on. It was made by Meriden, and marked on the bottom with an applied piece of silverplate Meriden silver plate Co. No 7017 and a lion holding a ... moretrophy in the middle, this mark dates it to(1869. There is no silver plate missing and no broken metal. This piece was sealed years ago to keep it from turning black, it can be removed by soaking in hot water over night then peal off. The glass fluted bowl was made by L.G.WRIGHT IN 1937. And it is marked with a M with a line in a circle.L.G. Wright Glass Company of New Martinsville, West Virginia, started selling glassware in 1937. Founder"Si" Wright contracted with Ohio and West Virginia glass factories to make popular pressed glass patterns, like Rose& Snow, Baltimore Pear, and Three Face, and opalescent patterns, like Daisy& Fern and Swirl. L.G. Wright items are marked with an underlined W in a circle. The bowl is a daisy and fern pattern it is opalescent and very ice blue. The glass is bright and the pattern is clear. LOVELY ANTIQUE AESTHETIC VICTORIAN SILVER PLATE BRIDES BASKET HOLDER FRAME A very pretty. Antique, aesthetic Victorian Brides Basket Holder that is Silver Plated with a lovely aesthetic design. The design has birds, berries, flowers& leaves. It has four metal, openwork, feet and applied openwork design on each side of the handle. The handle is twisted on each side and then straight at the top. There is a mark underneath of two circles and all I can make out is" MERIDEN" and" QUADRUPLE" This holder measures approximately 9 1/2" to the top of the handle x 13" across the handle. The holder for the basket measures approximately 7 5/8" inside diameter at the top and 6 1/2" opening on the inside bottom. It is in good condition but the silverplate is worn from age and use. The decoration, at the base of ... morethe handle, has one spot(on one side) that should be connected and isn't. I think it was done when it was made because it is very tight. The base seems to have a slight slope to it but it is the same on both sides and it looks like it was made that way. Antique Victorian Meriden Silverplate Brides Basket Compote with Handle Meriden Hallmark on bottom no. 1720 From Estate in North Carolina Good condition See attached close-up photos It is 5 1/2" to the top of basket rim. If you include the handle laying on the side. It is 6 5/8" Tall. If you stand the hand straight up, it is 11" tall. The width is 9 1/4" wide. There is a Victorian etched pattern in the center of the basket. There is some silver plate loss from age and there is a slight bend on the base if the foot. Fancy Derby Silverplate Victorian Brides Basket
A heavy. Very ornate Victorian silverplated brides basket, manufactured by Derby Silver Co. of Derby, Ct. The basket, on four swan decorated legs, stands about 5 inches high, and measures 9 3/4 inches in diameter. As you can see, the inside and outside of the rim is very decorative. The plating needs polish, of course, but it's in great condition, and should clean up just fine. I'm sure this will be a pleaser! No reserve once the opening bid is met.

The Basket is one of the best I have sold in a very long with a very fancy frame featuring finely detailed Repousse Strawberry designs all around. The Basket also features amazing pierced Shell designs all arounf and a lovely Beaded Bail Handle which yes stays up on it's own for display. The Glass Insert is the original. It fits like a glove and is a rich deep shade of Red Cranberry Glass. The Basket overall is in amazing all original condition with little signs of wear and certainly no cracks, dents or repairs to the frame and no chips, cracks or repairs to the glass bowl. The Basket makes for a beautiful display and is a nice practical size for modern use measuring 7" tall to the top of the bail handle by 8-1/4" wide or 2-1/2" tall at the edge with the bowl measuring 1-1/2" deep. I could find no markings but this is quite typical of Victorian Period Silver. I don't think you will find many this gorgeous and is such amazing condition up for auction, let alone with no reserve!
