Antique Footed Brides Basket from late 1800's when fb rogers was in Taunton. Ma. This is a fine piece with some scratches due it being used and old. There is no loss of silver plate just some tarnish that needs to be worked on if the new owner chooses. I like to see a little patina left to show it's age! If you can't see the maker's mark in the last picture it is Trademark 18(crown) 83 F.B.ROGERSSILVERCO Taunton,Ma. Quadruple and 0861.9 1/2" across.All of the joints that have been soldered are original and intact! The handle stands up by itself and is beautiful in the light. The feet are pierced with a finely made pattern that shows the kind of fine workmanship in that day and age. The edge is a rope pattern. I don't think this ever had a glass bowl or insert due the inscribed fancy J? in the center of the bowl. Notice ... morethe fine engraved flower and leave design on the inside as well. Rare & Wonderful Rogers and Smith SP basket-rope twist/beaded bail;Large& footed
You are looking at a most rare and unusual Rogers and Smith Victorian silver plated fruit basket; it has all the attributes of a far grander and far more expensive piece than I have seen in nearly 40 years. Tobegin with-it must have been purely a cabinet piece as there are no signs that theplating is anything other than perfect-couple of light scratches in the bowl but everything else is perfect. On top of t his-instead of heavy beading around the top of the bowl and the foot of the bowl-there is aheavy rope or barley twist taht is most outstanding-the twist around the fruit bowl being heavier than that around the raised pediment that the bowl sits on. Inside the bowl is what appears to be an engraved leaf pattern that is very delicate but large-some being chased and some engraved.teh handle or bail has yet another sized and multiple swags ... moreof this rope twisting.and there is a small cartouche atop the bail for having ones initials engraved but that has not been done. All in all a most impressive piece of silver and one that because of its size could be used almost daily on a table with fruit in it.it is oval shaped and 12 inches long; 9 inches wide and 11 inches tall to topof extended bail.4 1/2 inches tall with bail down. SMITH& CO, MERIDEN, CT late 1800's early 1900's The featured item represents a pedestal tray or platter that measures approximately 3 1/4/ tall without handle. 9 1/4" in diameter at the inner rim, 10 1/2" at the outer rim and 4 3/4" at the bottom. The distance between the middle of the tray to the top of the handle when raised is about 8 1/2" The bridal basket features a rim with pattern made of big and small beads and etched"flowers and leaves" design on the inside area and a swivel handle with raised grip at the middle. The bottom is stamped with" Rogers Smith& CO/ Meriden CT. Quadruple 1913" Trademarks with the words Rogers Smith& Co. and Meriden CT were introduced in the early ... more1880s. At that time, the Rogers Smith& Co. was owned by the Meriden Britannia Co. The Meriden Britannia Co. became part of the International Silver Co. in 1897. Markings indicating"Quadruple" plate were dropped by the Meriden Britannia Co. in 1896 but Rainwater indicates that"some other makers" continued to use"Quadruple" marks until about 1912. The item comes in well-preserved condition for its antique age. Normal vintage wear like small tarnishing and dings and scratches here and there. The ornate and decorated areas have a nice patina on them. There is some solder work where the arch curved grip meets the handle but the tones blends very good. This is a gorgeous antique Rogers Smith& Co New Haven Connecticut Silverplate Brides Basket(also called a cake or bread basket) This basket was manufactured 1857-1865.Which makes the piece 150 years old. I have polished this just a wee bit in order to show the details. The new owner can leave as is or polish it up, it has has a exceptional design deep floral engravings covering the top inside of the basket and a roman warrior medallion on each end. The detail is great considering the age. It is in good antique used condition. With some plate loss in center of bowl- See last 2 pictures Measures: 11 1/4" long 9" wide and 3 3/4" tall with the handle raised it is 9" tall. Up for auction is a Rogers Brothers silverplate basket holder frame with a relish dish. The whole frame is 10 1/2" tall. A bowl that is up to 6 1/2" wide will fit in the oblong frame. Brass is showing through on the handle. Someone has tried to clean it and left alot of residue polish behind. It stands on four feet. The base frame is 6" long. One side of the length is bent in a little. On in the inside base is a set of scales in a shield inside a circle iwth Rogers Brothers USA 312. I think this is a bride's basket. I just thought it was lovely& decades later still seems to move easily& well( handles) lovely detail. It is in need of more polishing. Bottom says. Rogers Smith& Co. New Haven, Ct. No. 1701 is imprinted on bottom. Base is 4.5" wide. Bowl is 7" high with the handles raised is about 10.5" high. The handle swings easily& the top has a profile of a woman. On either side of the bowl is a raised area with a profile of a woman in Grecian hair& headband. The bowl is 9" across& the center area depresses this area is about 3" wide. Has lovely leaf patterns. Little arches with ans xxxx pattern& dots. Any questions please ask early not always here. Might smell of polish. But it needs more. If it smell like anything else I cannot tell. Up for your consideration: 1880s Rogers& Smith Co Meridan Quadruple Bridal Basket w/Blue Glass Bridal Bowl According to my research. This quadruple bridal basket and matching blue glass bridal bowl were made in the early 1880's. The bottom is marked with Rogers& Smith Co- Meridan#1974 USA and etched with 37663-3. The basket itself is very detailed with bows and roses. The handle is engraved with what I believe to be a"Y" initial. The glass is a beautiful shade of blue with double crimping and a similar rose pattern. There are no markings that I can find on the glass itself and it is in mint condition with no chips or cracks. This has been a personal favorite in my collection of glass since purchasing it at an estate auction in Ohio back in 2005. This is a vintage silver plated oval wire basket from the EB Rogers silver company. It has cross over wiring adding additional beauty in the design. The basket is 4 1/2" in height and 11 3/4" wide. Great for a bread basket during elegant dinners. As a fruit holder, or whatever you might like to use it as. This item has some tarnishing from sitting which is very normal for silver. Easily taken care of with some polish. Plating is still strong. The wires on the side are slightly off but as you can see in the pictures it is barely noticeable. Comes in box.

Silver basket probably for fruit of bread Approximately 9 x 5 x 2 inches. weight 4.5 oz Based on what I found at the website below. I am assuming this is a Joseph Rodgers and Sons 1913 Hallmark although as you can see by the pictures that I posted, The hallmark is worn in places. On the back is a the number 4065/1. Since I don't have a clue as to the value. I am putting it up with a starting bid of 5 dollars with no reserve. Joseph Rodgers& Sons. Sheffield 1913 hallmark A famous firm of cutlers and silversmiths founded in Sheffield in 1682. It was converted under the style of Joseph Rodgers& Sons Ltd in 1871. It sits on 4 ball feet and has a band of shells on the outside. There are cherry and leaf figurals under each handle. It's a beautiful example of the genre. Condition: Very good- some wear to the gold wash inside the bowl- but no other silver wear or loss. There are no monograms and the pattern is crisp and well defined. Victorian Rogers Smith Co Meriden Silverplate Mt. Washington Glass Brides Basket
This lovely Silverplate and Enameled Art Glass Brides Basket measure about 10-5/8" in diameter and 3-3/8" tall when assembled. The Silverplate bottom has a bit of tarnish and maybe missing a handle. The mount was produced by Rogers. Smith& Co. around during the last quarter of the 19th century. The company was out of business by'04. We believe the basket was produced by Mt. Washington Glass co. It is unsigned. The glass has some enamel loss, but is largely in very nice condition with no chips or cracks. The bottom of the bowl does have a polished pontil as would be expected.

Antique Rogers& Bros. Silver Plate Cake Brides Basket C.1874 Cherubs Small darkened area. Lacquer residue. Lacquer residue. For your consideration is this spectacular silver plate cake brides basket made by Rogers& Bros. Circa 1874. This impressive basket stands a whopping 16" tall to the top of the handle and measures 10" square. The design elements are amazing, with rounded shell shaped corners, ornate etching and a raised center circle with a house and mountain motif. The pedestal base is just beautiful with back to back cherubs on a heart shape frame and a bottom floral band. There are no dings/dents or noticeable silver loss other than a few spots on the underside, but they do not show. The basket was once protected with a lacquer coat, however, there are just some orange/brown traces left in a few spots, see last 2 ... morepictures. A bit more polishing should remove it. The only issue to mention is if you pull the handle on 1 side it will come completely out, otherwise left alone, it does stay in place and works well. Signed ROGERS SILVER CO. Connecticut. This lovely basket is 13" long and 7+" high to top of handle. It is in excellent condition; just a little silver wear and a some dots, but does not take away from it a bit. Still a beautiful display! Handle and hinges is in excellent working condition. ROGERS SILVERPLATE FOOTED BRIDES FRUIT BASKET. Mark is Very Faint. What I can read with a magnifier is the name Rogers. Meriden and Quadruple. Visible etched number underneath, B 5535. Basket is a 10.5 x 7.5 rectangle rounded on 2 ends. Sculptural cutouts of Cherubs in trees with baskets picking cherries, beautiful detail. Inside bottom has a circle of leaves with a striped cat head and paws coming out of the middle. Very hard to see, almost missed it. Silverplate is in very good condition with loss of plating in a small spot on top of curved edge, last photo. Handle has 3D rose on top. Fancy triangular feet are decorated with scrolls, flowers, and beading. Basket is substantial, weighs almost 2 1/2 lbs. Measures 3" tall from bottom to edge, 10" tall to top of handle.
