It is in shabby chic condition with plate loss and scratches from loving use over the last 100 years or so. We found this history on the Derby Historical Organization's site online(great site! The Derby Silver Company was founded in 1872. And began operations on Shelton's Canal Street one year later. The company soon outgrew its quarters and constructed a larger building, which still stands on Bridge Street, Shelton, in 1877 near the Housatonic River, overlooking Derby. A number of additions were added in subsequent years. The original Canal Street building was razed when the railroad was built through Shelton in 1888. The company made toilet articles. Mirrors, combs, clocks, brushes, table and flatware, tea sets, children's cups, loving cups(trophies) candlesticks, fruit baskets, dishes, basically anything which was plated by or made of silver. Measures 7 1/2 inches long. 7 inches wide and 10 inches tall overall. The plateau for the bowl measures 6 3/4 by 3 1/2. Condition is good as there are NO broken. Missing or repaired parts present. Fancy Derby Silverplate Victorian Brides Basket
A heavy. Very ornate Victorian silverplated brides basket, manufactured by Derby Silver Co. of Derby, Ct. The basket, on four swan decorated legs, stands about 5 inches high, and measures 9 3/4 inches in diameter. As you can see, the inside and outside of the rim is very decorative. The plating needs polish, of course, but it's in great condition, and should clean up just fine. I'm sure this will be a pleaser! No reserve once the opening bid is met.

USA Quadruple Plate#1006 Information: This is an antique silver plate quadruple plate brides basket made by Derby Silver Co. from Derby. CT USA. This beautiful vintage item after some research dates between 1872- 1933 which are the years this company was in business. This basket has hig sides deocrated with stars and floral designs. This has patina to include tarnishing and I am leaving it up to the buyer to polish if they desire. The center has a raised medallion with a victorian design that incorporates a heron or bird design with scrolling. There is a slight small approx 1 cm in size silverplate loss in the top plate near the raised medallion. The handle is in tact and quite detailed. The handles where they meet up with the body ... moreof this basket have a light colored string wrapped in the seam which I am not certain why it is there. The handle operates fine and properly. the string may be able to just be removed or left as is. The ornate design around this beautiful bowl are of tassels. Please see pictures. This is an old antique lovely Derby Silver Plate Co. International EBWM marked delightful cherub band in relief basket from old estate. It is 14 1/2" by 10 3/4" by 7 1/2" tall. The silver is nice with a little wear to the bottom inside panel which would be normal for its age. It has one seam that is slightly open. See me pointing. It weighs slightly under 3 pounds. Old Early ANTIQUE Victorian DERBY Silverplate EASTER EGG BASKET / DISH 1890's
Offered for sale is a very RARE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SILVERPLATE EASTER BASKET from the 1890's. The candy container measures 6 inches long by 5 inches wide by 6 inches tall. The egg is marked on the under side Pat Oct. 14th 1890 Derby Silver Co. Quadruple Plate. The silvering is 99% still intact with a wonderful gold gilt wash inside the egg. The handle has oak leaves and acorn caps attached as well as a wish bone. On the rear of the egg is engraved flowers and Best Wishes. I am not sure why the front foot on the egg is different from the back two so just take note. The egg is in wonderful shape for its age without any damage. Derby silver plate basket This is a beautiful. Highly ornate handled basket that displays excellently on its own or would be suitable for fruit or a flower arrangement. This is a nice sized piece and measures 14" tall and 9.75" x 7.75" The bottom is marked Derby Silver P Co International S Co 1232. The basket is six sided. The large panels have the same ornate English countryside design on each side. The smaller panels below have alternating scenes with a man and woman. I have not found any damage or dents to the basket. I have not polished it. I personally prefer the slightly aged patina that it currently exhibits. Especially given the pattern on the basket. The piece is decorated with hummingbirds. Flowers, and designs typical of the Victorian aesthetic movement of the late 1800’s. The piece is 6-1/2” high to the top of the basket(13-1/2” to the top of the handle) and 10” in diameter. The Derby mark is deep inside the base so it is hard to photograph. It reads Derby Silver Co. Quadruple Plate. There is tarnish on the piece. Some scratches, and some dents or bends in the basket. Please view the photos to see the condition yourself. The pedestal base unscrews from the basket and I will be packaging it in two pieces to protect it from bending and to save space.
