The glass bowl is one of the nicest that I have seen. It has fabulous Enamel Decorations, of leaves and floral detailing. It measures approx 12-1/2" diameter. It is in Excellent Condition- I would call it perfect albeit a most minor flat spot on the rim that appears to be a manufacturing nuance, not damage. I have looked at this with a magnifying glass and it is obvious after observing this first hand that it is not a chip but a flat spot somehow done during manufacture. Although extremely difficult to view, I have a pic of the area shown in my last pic. The frame is in Excellent Condition. Made of Quadruple Silver Plate by the Wilcox Silver-Plate Co. It stands approx 10-3/4" tall and approx 12-3/4" across. Both the decorated bowl and the Silver-Plate frame are gorgeous. The item comes direct from the collection of an area advance collector. Sold to me when settling her estate. The underside of the bowl bears a sticker that either she attached or was the sale price back in the day. The glass bowl will be packaged and shipped in a separate parcel from the silver plate frame in order to assure as best one can safe delivery. Derby CT Quadrupleplate. It measures approx. 9 1/4" across and 5 1/4" high(10" high with the handles. It is in shabby chic condition with plate loss and scratches from loving use over the last 100 years or so. We found this history on the Derby Historical Organization's site online(great site! The Derby Silver Company was founded in 1872. And began operations on Shelton's Canal Street one year later. The company soon outgrew its quarters and constructed a larger building, which still stands on Bridge Street, Shelton, in 1877 near the Housatonic River, overlooking Derby. A number of additions were added in subsequent years. The original Canal Street building was razed when the railroad was built through Shelton in 1888. The company made toilet articles. Mirrors, combs, clocks, brushes, table and flatware, tea sets, children's cups, loving cups(trophies) candlesticks, fruit baskets, dishes, basically anything which was plated by or made of silver. 19th Century Victorian Brides' Basket. Marked James W. Tufts Boston Warranted, Quadruple Plate, with a mark 128 and a 6. There is an etched number of 25725 as well. This is a very fancy stand with elaborate decoration. The bowl is 10 1/2” Diameter in a light mauve color with ruffled and corrugated rim and very skillfully hand-painted in a floral pattern. There are two innocuous hairline cracks in the clear inside casing only. The white outside casing is unaffected(see red dots) Otherwise the Brides' Basket is in Excellent Condition with the silver plate and the metal unflawed. Antique silver plate brides basket large 12"/ art nouveau raised edge PRICE CUT!
This is a fantastic silver plated huge bride's basket. There is no makers mark. It has floral engraving within the basket and raised thick art nouveau trim around the bowl and handle. The bale is attached with fine quality tube and pin method. It has a pedestal base. There are two areas where the plating is worn. See photos, and two other small spots. There is one scratch. The outside is almost perfect, overall is so beautiful the flaws don't interfere. It measures 12" outside edge to edge and 4" outside height, outside height with bale up is 10" Inside depth of basket is 2" I do not accept returns or give refunds. Beautiful Victorian antique brides basket. Silverplate frame with lovely aesthetic scrolling pattern on the sides and handle. Beaded edgeing. The art glass insert is milk glass with shades of purple on the ruffled border and clear glass edging. The silverplate is monogrammed- looks like G and HW and dated 1899. This brides basket is incredible and beautiful! PLEASE LOOK AT ALL 12 PICTURES)The basket sits on four rounded feet that are decorated with scrolls. Flowers and tiny leaves. Above that is a 1/4 inch band of scrolling work going all the way around. The mane band of the body has large campus leaves some round leaves, large flowers, small flowers and vines. Then there is another 1/4 inch band of scrolling work. The band that holds the glass bowl has a deep stripe pattern all the way around. The C shape connectors that connect the handle to the basket has flowers inside and out and round balls that connect it to the basket ring.The handle is a twisted handle. This silverplate basket has so much going on. It was made by Meriden, and marked on the bottom with an applied piece of silverplate Meriden silver plate Co. No 7017 and a lion holding a ... moretrophy in the middle, this mark dates it to(1869. There is no silver plate missing and no broken metal. This piece was sealed years ago to keep it from turning black, it can be removed by soaking in hot water over night then peal off. The glass fluted bowl was made by L.G.WRIGHT IN 1937. And it is marked with a M with a line in a circle.L.G. Wright Glass Company of New Martinsville, West Virginia, started selling glassware in 1937. Founder"Si" Wright contracted with Ohio and West Virginia glass factories to make popular pressed glass patterns, like Rose& Snow, Baltimore Pear, and Three Face, and opalescent patterns, like Daisy& Fern and Swirl. L.G. Wright items are marked with an underlined W in a circle. The bowl is a daisy and fern pattern it is opalescent and very ice blue. The glass is bright and the pattern is clear. Its original Wright glass! There are no chips, or breaks to this wonderful glass bowl.The glass bowl is 10 inch diameter by 3 deep. A beautiful brides basket from American Silver Plated brides basket or bread basket from the turn of the century. Quadruple silver plate with embossed water lilies in the base of the basket. Handled and claw footed. Lovely scalloped embossed edging to both the bowl and the base. Measures 9.25" in diameter and stands 2.75" tall without the handle up. The condition is excellent for age I would say. There a couple spots of pitting in the raised embossed water lilies. She needs an additional and more detailed cleaning but she sure looks great. The claw feet are not flush with the table but it does not affect the stability of the piece. Does NOT wobble on the table. Please see photos as they are the best description I can give. The design has birds, berries, flowers& leaves. It has four metal, openwork, feet and applied openwork design on each side of the handle. The handle is twisted on each side and then straight at the top. There is a mark underneath of two circles and all I can make out is" MERIDEN" and" QUADRUPLE" This holder measures approximately 9 1/2" to the top of the handle x 13" across the handle. The holder for the basket measures approximately 7 5/8" inside diameter at the top and 6 1/2" opening on the inside bottom. It is in good condition but the silverplate is worn from age and use. The decoration, at the base of ... morethe handle, has one spot(on one side) that should be connected and isn't. I think it was done when it was made because it is very tight. The base seems to have a slight slope to it but it is the same on both sides and it looks like it was made that way. This large brides basket is incredible and beautiful! PLEASE LOOK AT ALL PICTURES) The basket sits on four rounded feet that are decorated with scrolls. Flowers and tiny leaves. Above that is a 1/4 inch band of scrolling work going all the way around. The main band of the body has large campus leaves,some round leaves, large flowers, small flowers and vines. Then there is another 1/4 inch band of scrolling work. The band that holds the glass bowl has a deep stripe pattern all the way around. The C shape connectors that connect the handle to the basket has flowers inside and out and round balls that connect it to the basket ring.The handle is a twisted handle. This silver plate basket has so much going on. It was made by Meriden, and marked on the bottom with an applied piece of silver plate Meriden silver plate Co. No 7017 and a lion holding ... morea trophy in the middle, this mark dates it to(1869. There is no silver plate missing and no broken metal. This piece was sealed years ago to keep it from turning black, it can be removed by soaking in hot water over night then peal off. The glass fluted bowl was made by L.G.WRIGHT, And it is marked with a M with a line in a circle.L.G. Wright Glass Company of New Martinsville, West Virginia. This has a recessed center on the top plate. The top outer rim has some slight bends in it which are visible, approx. 3 slight twists or misshapen areas which I tried to show in my photos. I have up for sale an absolutely gorgeous vintage original circa 1880s 1890s Enameled Art Glass Ruffled Rim Brides Basket with Wilcox Quadruple Silver-Plate holder frame. The glass bowl is one of the nicest that I have seen. It has fabulous Enamel Decorations, of leaves and floral detailing. It measures approx 12-1/2" diameter. It is in Excellent Condition- I would call it perfect albeit a most minor flat spot on the rim that appears to be a manufacturing nuance, not damage. I have looked at this with a magnifying glass and it is obvious after observing this first hand that it is not a chip but a flat spot somehow done during manufacture. Although extremely difficult to view, I have a pic of the area shown in my last pic. The frame is in Excellent Condition. Made of Quadruple Silver Plate by the Wilcox Silver-Plate Co. I believe the designed element on the top of the handle as well as the decorative handle mounts on the edge of the basket are made of pewter. Basket could use good polishing. To really make it"pop" There is an area on the rim of the basket(approx 1/2 inch long) where I believe the plating may be worn away(see pic 10) which may or may not become more noticable if the piece is polished. This beautiful basket features elaborately detailed designs popular in the Victorian era. Very sturdy with four feet and a fold down handle. This makes a beautiful centerpiece. Or on a buffet table. This is a beautiful Silver Plated Brides Basket/ Fruit Basket. There is an impressed stamp on the bottom which reads: Pairpoint Mfg. Co. New Bedford, Mass, Quadruple Plate, Pat. Jan. 31, 1893 and number 1249. This item is 120 years old. A lot of embossing on this basket. Looks like a branch with apples on the inside bottom which are raised on the inside and punched in on the underneath. Branches, leaves and apples make up the handle which is hinged. 4 feet on which to stand with a gallery above the feet. Looks like the four corners which are indented in have an engraved design on them. This Basket is in excellent condition showing no wear on the silver. It looks like it was not cleaned for it is tarnished and the pictures will probably show up dark on the computer. I am leaving it as it is for the new owners to clean themselves. Antique Rogers& Bros. Silver Plate Cake Brides Basket C.1874 Cherubs Small darkened area. Lacquer residue. Lacquer residue. For your consideration is this spectacular silver plate cake brides basket made by Rogers& Bros. Circa 1874. This impressive basket stands a whopping 16" tall to the top of the handle and measures 10" square. The design elements are amazing, with rounded shell shaped corners, ornate etching and a raised center circle with a house and mountain motif. The pedestal base is just beautiful with back to back cherubs on a heart shape frame and a bottom floral band. There are no dings/dents or noticeable silver loss other than a few spots on the underside, but they do not show. The basket was once protected with a lacquer coat, however, there are just some orange/brown traces left in a few spots, see last 2 ... morepictures. A bit more polishing should remove it. The only issue to mention is if you pull the handle on 1 side it will come completely out, otherwise left alone, it does stay in place and works well. Antique Van Bergh Silver Plate Cake Brides Basket C.1900 For your consideration is this antique silver plate cake brides basket made by Van Bergh Silver Plate Co. Circa 1900. Stands 9 1/4" tall to the top of the finial and measures 8 1/2" in diameter.the base is 4 1/2" in diameter. The top surface features both a shiny and burnished(non shiny) finish, very common in Victorian silver plate. The underside of the basket is shiny and the pedestal base is burnished. There is light silver loss present on the underside, but the burnished base is worn or it needs a bit more polishing. The basket has a slight tilt, 2 shallow pinpoint dings on the top surface and a dent on the top edge which doesn't show too much, see last picture. Antique Cased Pink Glass Brides Bowl, Victorian Silver Plate Basket Holder Stand
For sale is an ornate Victorian probably-quadruple silver plated bride's basket/stand with an exquisite ruffled cased-glass bowl. The pink glass starts dark at the ruffle and flows down to a pale pink at the center. The underside is white. This unmarked bowl measures 10 1/4" across at its widest. 3 3/4" at its tallest, and 2 7/8" across the foot, which has a ground, indented pontil. It is in excellent antique condition: No cracks, breaks, chips, or repairs; just some bubbles, pimples, a couple of slightly rough areas where the glass was bent for the sections of low ruffles, and 3 tiny spots of white color in the pink, all signs of having been manufactured more than a hundred years ago. This is NOT one of the Fenton reproduction bowls. The stand is unmarked; it stands 7 1/4" at its highest, 7 4/8" at its widest, ... moreand 3 3/8" across the inner part where the bowl sits. The bowl sits way down into the basket portion. The holder has three ornate scroll work columns that connect the basket to the base. A beautiful dove is attached to the stand between the columns. The four lion's feet are also very ornate. The holder is in wonderful antique condition: The silver plate needs polishing, but it is mostly intact; there are several scratches and two shallow dents in the bottom rim of the stand and one small dent and several small scratches in the basket upper rim. Antique Rogers Smith& Co. Silver Plate Brides Basket dated 1883 Although it is rough. This old basket has the date, 1883, engraved on the basket. It is by Rogers Smith. There is also a script engraved Willie Cook. The basket is 10” diameter edge to edge. Stands 3-3/8” high not including the handle. The embellishment that was probably on the handle is missing. Antique Ruffled Brides Basket in Cherub Si lver Plate Stand I am selling a lovely Brides Basket Centerpiece of a Winged Cherub holding up a ruffled bowl. The variation of colors on the ruffled bowl is beautiful and there is raised enameling inside and out. The bowl is free of any cracks or chips. The victorian silver plate centerpiece did have the top part that holds the bowl soldered back on to the piece as evidenced in the photos. This is a solid repair. However if you look under the piece or inside you can see the solder. This is not noticeable when the bowl is in place or when you are looking straight at the piece. It appears to be slightly uneven in the repair when you look at it from underneath, but with the bowl in place it is straight. The centerpiece is approx. 9" high without the bowl. By 5-1/2" diameter at the base. The full height with the bowl is approx. 13" high. The bowl opening is 11" wide. Up for sale is a very unusual late 1800's MERIDAN SILVER PLATE CO brides basket# 1699 with handle and has a bird on top of handle with ornate flowers running down both sides of the handle. 4 legs with a band of little flowers around the bottom. Measures app: 11 7/8” long X 8” wide X 4 ½” tall(11 ½” with handle up) Bottom reads: MERIDEN SILVERPLATE CO-QUADRUPLE PLATE. HAS A LION INSIDE A CIRCLE HOLDING A VASE, AND IS#D 1699 Inside of basket does have specks of plate wear. All are small(shown in pictures) outside does have a couple of very small dings. ANTIQUE HARTFORD? SILVER PLATE 1000 VICTORIAN ART DECO BRIDE BASKET CENTERPIECE STAND this is marked with the number 1000 and I believe it is HARTFORD however is not marked as such. It's a beautiful stand from the late 1800's. It is in good condition- it has some tarnish. Discoloration, light scratches and scuffs from use, there is one small dent in the platter portion(please see pictures) along with some minor scratches and marks. With the handle extended it is about 12” tall– measures about 9 1/4” across the plate part. I combine items for shipping. Payment must be received within 10 days of the end of the auction.
