Antique Victorian Hartford Quadruple Silverplate Brides Basket Frame. Measures 11 1/2" tall to the top of the handle X 8 1/2" widest. The center hole for the glass bowl measures 4" diam and the cradle between the hoops at the base measures 5 1/4" up to 8 1/4" between the upper hoops. Marked on the bottom rim: Hartford Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Plate 987. Victorian Silver metal frame with four ball feet and a wide hoop handle. The top of the frame is scrolled with a Flower and Leaf pattern. The sides of the base have large clusters of Flowers and Leaves on each side. The round bottom is paneled with a thin rim that holds the foot of the bowl. This is in Nice Condition with No dings. Dents or splits. 1445 Osborn& Co. Warranted Quadruple Plate Lancaster. PA This is a beautiful piece! I am calling this a bride's basket. However, I am not entirely sure of it's original purpose. Could it have been to hold the cream pitcher and sugar bowl of a tea set. or possibly to hold condiments or cruets. maybe it was created as just a decorative piece. I received this from someone along with the Meriden silver tea set that I also have listed. These pieces had been in their family for four generations. However, since this had a different manufacturer from the tea set, I decided to list it separately. Use it or display it however you want- it is a very ornate piece! It is etched or engraved inside with a floral and leaf design on both ends. Osborn& Co. was only known to be in business for a brief period of time from 1892 to 1897. They began ... moreas an umbrella handle manufacturer. This measures 10" x 7" and is 8 1/2" high including the handle. It is marked on the bottom with the above information. I did not try to polish or clean it. The Aesthetic Era of the 19th Century produced exquisite silver objects. Some of them among the most beautiful silver pieces ever made. These pieces have become highly prized by collectors- both sterling and silverplate items. Antique silverplate from this era is most commonly marked"Quadruple Plate. This means there are four layers of silverplate on the piece. Quadruple silverplate was some of the highest quality made during the later part of the 19th Century. Large Antique Silver Pewter Silverplate Compote Brides Basket Bowl Old Ornate
Here is an old piece I haven't been able to find out much about. This is a large basket with a very ornate and detailed motif. This measures 13.25" x 8.5" wide and is 6.5" tall. When you have the handle up it is 13" tall. This appears to be silverplated pewter. The silverplate is mostly gone however so this shows mostly pewter and has hints of a brass color coming out along the rim and handle hinge. Ive searched everywhere and can not find a makers Hallmark. I have no clue who made this or true age but can say it did come from a very old estate. This is highly detailed inside and out, I am sure you will love this despite the heavy plating wear. This likely would benefit from a cleaning and polishing too as this is being sold as found. 1903 ANTIQUE SILVER PLATED METAL BRIDES BASKET Footed Handle Heavy Flower Design
Beautiful silver plated brides basket. Antique dated 1903 along with the maker which I cannot make out-but there is a photo supplied for you& perhaps your eyes are better than mine& can make out this maker. It does have used vintage wear, some wear to the silver plate in places, not bad in my opinion& can be used as it is but please look at all photo's as they are part of the details& description. They flower designs are raised up& very detailed. It is footed& oblong in shape. The handle does not want to stay upright so needs tightening& possibly had a little flower or knob on top(see photo) or made the way as shown. What a great addition to any antique basket collection that still can be used& is so very different than most out there.

The large panels have the same ornate English countryside design on each side. The smaller panels below have alternating scenes with a man and woman. I have not found any damage or dents to the basket. I have not polished it. I personally prefer the slightly aged patina that it currently exhibits. Especially given the pattern on the basket. Hallow ware. Has hearts hallowed out at base of handle. Silver plated marked 4823 patent no. 72881 Some of the research said that pieces like this were used for several reasons. One being used in hotels with flowers resting in basket as decoration. Wonder where this one has been? I would say this piece is in good condition considering its age. Real ornate and fancy old antique Meriden Silver Company Silverplate handled and 4 footed brides basket. Its a leaf form in bowl. It is marked in a small circle with the Meriden Company mark on a bottom base foot but I was unable to get a clear undistorted close up of it. Basket has no damage. Just some very light wear from age and past use seen only on very close up inspection is all. Basket bowl is 11" long. Bought from a very quality filled old estate.

Antique Victorian HP Glass Brides Bowl, Ornate Reed Barton Footed Plated Basket
For sale is an ornate Victorian silver plated bride's basket with an exquisite scalloped-edge. Enamel painted glass bowl. The the bowl is white inside with blue hand painted butterflies and pale brown leaves, and pink outside with enamel painted butterflies and floral motif. This unmarked bowl measures 9 1/4" across at its widest, 3 1/2" at its tallest, and approx. 6 1/2" across the foot, which has a rough, slightly indented pontil. It is in very good antique condition: No cracks, breaks, or repairs. However, there is a 1/2" shallow chip where a spot in the rim comes to a point(see last picture) it is noticeable, but does not detract from the beauty of the bowl. I see a couple tiny pits and some pimples in the glaze, signs of having been manufactured more than a hundred years ago. There is also what looks like a light ... morepartial coffee-cup stain in the bottom of the bowl(go figure) The basket is marked on the bottom rim: MFG& PLATED BY REED& BARTON 3930. It stands 13 1/4" at its highest, 9 3/4" at its widest, and 6 5/8" across the inner part where the bowl sits. The holder has ornate metal work at the top and sides of the handle, and figural birds where they attach to the basket. There are two more birds(front and back) on the basket and all four birds form the legs/feet of the holder. There is ornate relief work around the portion that holds the bowl. The holder is in wonderful antique condition: The silver plate needs polishing(and there is some polish on the holder) but it appears to be mostly intact; no other conditions to report. This is no marriage; a beautiful, quality artifact from the Victorian period. CONDITION NOTE: All of our items are vintage or antique. Exquisite Antique Vintage Repousse Brides Basket Fruit Bowl Pedestal With Intricate Grapevine Leaves Pattern. Rim of basket has grapevine design all the way around basket. The handle has a beautiful scroll design with leaves and grapes. The sides drop three tiers to base of basket. This could be Nickle Silver. Silver Plate or Pewter. I am not 100% sure. It is not marked. There is a marking on bottom of Basket– 1807 12. There is some weight to this piece. The basket measures 11" diameter. Base is 3.5” inches tall and 10” tall to the top of the handle to base. There are some scratches. Tarnish and little dents in basket. However. This does not take away from beauty of piece. This is an absolutely beautiful example of a silverplate bride's basket with glass insert. Silver piece measures approx 14 1/2" tall and is marked Quadruple Plate. New York around outside of a circle, Adelphi Silver Plate Company within the same circle and what resembles a beehive in the center of this circle. The glass basket insert measures approx 11 1/2" wide and has a light pink that runs to a dark pink interior with a gold handpainted design with flowers. The outside of basket is white. The very bottom of this basket measures approx 3 7/8" in diameter. Both the silver holder and the handpainted glass basket is in very nice condition. Antique Brides Basket JAMES W. TUFTS Silver Floral Wedding BOSTON
A Beautiful and Elegant Silverplate swing handle brides basket/bowl. It was manufactured by James W. Tufts of Boston. MA. It is marked Quadruple plate. And is numbered 4336. The center of the bowl depicts a floral motif that is raised in some places. The rim has a nice bead around the edge and the handle has floral décor and graduated bead design at top. The swing handle moves easily. And the feet are perfect. It is tarnished, I will let the buyer decide to polish this or not. The bowl measures 9" and stands 2 1/4" high without handle. I would say it is about 8" high with handle.

This is a brides wedding basket made of silver plate. Made by Rogers and Smith New Haven Connecticut between 1865-1873. It is 12.5 inches long and 8.5 inches wide. It is 3 1/2 inches tall. The handle is 8 1/2 inches tall. It is a beautiful piece even though it has some worn spots inside the basket. It is stamped with the numbers 4567 and I can find no reference to these numbers. Beautiful quadruple silverplate footed basket with bird handles. Someone else sold the same one on eBay a few months ago. They had it listed as a brides basket. I am not so sure since it is rather small for a brides basket. Thought it might be a condiment holder in which case the glass piece is missing. Either way. It is very pretty. I polished it as it was completely black when I found it. It will clean further but it took a lot of polishing to get it this clean. One foot appears to have been fixed. There are soldering marks along the top of the foot where it meets the rim of the base(see photos) Mainly evident from the inside but you can see a light excess mark along the rim on the outside. One scallop along the rim seems to be slightly pressed in(see photos) Circa 1900- 1925 Hallmark Rockford Silver P. Co. Made by Meridian 1897(marked interior) I have done some polishing The pedestal is 5 1/2" tall, so it has a really nice presence. This is an exquisite antique silver plated copper basket. It is 15.5 inches tall including the handle. The panels on either side of the basket picture a courting couple in a garden with a cherub watching them. Perhaps Cupid? Cherubs also decorate the basket's handle. It has such a fluid basket, which is a tad lower in the middle, and slightly flares up at the oval ends. I have done some polishing.and I love the(as I call them) the buttons.each surrounded by a diamond design. Marked on the bottom with the traditional makers mark“Meriden B. Company. Quadruple Plate, 1887” Dates to the early 1900’s. Measures a full 10 inches in diameter. 4 3/4 inch base diameter, 5 1/4 inches to top rim and 12 1/2 inches to top of the handle. Condition is great as there are NO chips. This is a lovely antique Silver plate brides/bridal basket with nice rufflg glass basket insert that has been hand decorated and painted gold glitter and lovely flower on pink color with ruffle edge with white underside and center. There is a number on the bottom but cannot make it out. These baskets were a favorite wedding gifts from the 1880's until around 1905. This glass basket measures 10 inches across and about 3 inches in height. The silver basket part stands 12 inches high. It has a stamp on it that says manufactured Toronto Standard silver#496 special hard white. The handle does not stay upright on its own. The basket measures approximately 10” across. And stands about 3.5” high(9.5” with handle) The bowl is about 1.5” at its deepest point.
