Description TAYLOR SMITH& TAYLOR IONA Offered for bids is a beautiful. Small, oval porcelain platter. Creamy white background with wide black band on top rim edge and narrow band at lower part of rim. Within the two bands is a delicate and intricate floral pattern. Colors are rich shades of pink, yellow, blue, green, orange and red. The design brings to mind English cottage garden flowers. Measures approximately 11 1/4" long and 9" wide, and is quite heavy for its size. Green pitcher shaped stamp on bottom with T.S.T. IONA- China. There are numbers beneath. which look like 1 5 27. Though platter has an"English" look, it was made in the U.S. The mark is that of Taylor, Smith& Taylor which was located in West Virginia, and in operation from 1900 to 1982. A few fine utensil scratches on surface- very minor. Light wear in a few spots to the black trim. The vast majority of trim is intact. Light wear in a few spots to the floral design. One rose has a scrape mark near center of flower. Four very small spots on face- two are reddish. The others are black and pinpoint sized. Three raised glaze"pops" on back sides. The underlying clay is visible at the tops of these raised bits. There are some stray paint marks on back side. All flaws are minor and don't detract from the overall appearance of the piece. William Adams& Sons Flow Blue Large Platter: Early 1800s The listing is for a very large octagon Platter made by William Adams& Sons in England in the early 1800's. The platter is edged with stylized blue six petaled flowers on a blue branched background. The center has a bucolic. Pleasant scene with Churches, Flora and A Man and Woman casually strolling; both seem to be in deep conversation. Another man is lying on the grass watching them. The pattern is not very sharp. There is overall crazing and browning at the center, more so on the back, than on the front. There are two hairlines and two chips at the edge, and a tiny nick. The mark on the back is also very blurry and I believe it reads Sirius. Not sure. An appraiser assured ... moreme that this was a William Adams& Sons early Mark. Between 1819& 1864 is his guesstimate. Large Antique Mexican Puebla Concepcion Talavera Charger Bowl 13 inches
This is a fabulous large low bowl or charger measuring 13 inches(33 cm) in diameter and 2 inches(5 cm) high We bought it from the estate of a man who had lived in Mexico until the 1930's willing this and a few other items to his nephew in Pennsylvania. We bought it at an auction of the nephews possessions about 5 years ago. I date it from somewhere right around 1800. It has a palette that is typical of Puebla Talavera pottery with a a floral border and a very unusual compass rose design in the center. The center reads"Concepcion" Not all that much historical information is available about the Puebla manufacturers but one of the oldest Puebla Talavera Potteries is called" L a Concepcion" or more accurately"Fabrica de Loza La Concepción. According to their web page it was founded in the late 18th century. Changed ... moreownership in the middle of the nineteenth century and continues as a family run pottery to this day. I think that it is quite likely that the"Concepcion" in the center of this piece refers to this maker. As for condition. Given the age and size of this piece- remarkably good. There is a back chip. A foot chip, a small tight hairline, age crazing, a large glaze skip on the back. Please examine the photos above for the most accurate description and pictures of flaws. As you can see the color is still brilliant and free of staining with an excellent surface. A fine rare piece- quality seldom seen outside of museums

No later than the 1830s. it is unmarked. It is English. Beautifully hand-painted flowers with blue trim and gold gilding. Condition is only fair for age. There is a chip on the foot(pic#3) there is a small chip on the edge on the underside. small line on the underside that isn't on the front. There is discoloration. Mostly on the back. Antique turkey platter and matching plate. Cobalt blue with gold trim. Shows a painting of a male and female turkey. The turkey platter is oval and measures 17 3/4 inches long and 13 inches across. The smaller plate is round and 9 1/2 inches across. The large platter has no marking on the back but the smaller matching plate is marked"France" I'm not sure if this is Haviland Limoge or what the pattern is. But the gold detail around the edges of the plates looks very much like some Haviland platters. This platter and plate belonged to my grandmother and is very old. They are both in very good condition for their age and they are absolutely beautiful!

The Flow Blue set is in the Touraine Pattern and was manufactured by both Stanley Pottery Company and Henry Alcock& Company in the same pattern design. The Touraine Pattern features a floral design with a very dark blue border and has a slightly embossed design. It is a vintage set, and contains no reproductions pieces. The Stanley English Registry Mark on the back indicates a Circa date of 1898; while the Henry Alcock& Co. backstamp indicated a Circa date of 1891- 1900. Altogether this full set consists of service for 12 and has many serving pieces. Tressemanes & Vogt T&V Limoges Burley & Co. large rose tray 16" by 14" HP EXC
I have for you this evening a beautiful hand painted rose tray by Tressemanes& Vogt aka T&V Limoges and retailed by Burley& Co. The tray is made of very high quality French porcelain that is thick and heavy but still maintains the fragile delicate translucent quality that first gave it the name"white gold" The piece has a high gloss white glaze covers around the rim in a band of green and the mold edges are thickly trimmed in gold. Around the rim on the thick band of green which is a signature color for this maker are large hand painted pink roses in various stages of partial and full bloom. The roses are executed very well and obviously by a master painter of flowers and the foliage is very well applied as well. This is a great piece on a grand scale and its simplicity in design and decoration will allow it to be used ... morewith almost any tea. Coffee or demitasse set or for serving your favorite dainties to you guest and when put away in your favorite cabinet it will look a treat I assure you. Dimensions and dating: This tray measures 16.25" long by 13.75" wide and stands an inch tall at the rim. The piece dates from the early part of the twentieth century. Condition report: This piece is in antique excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or crazing. There are no scratches on the face that I can find and the gold gilt edges appear to be 99% intact with little to no wear and the hand painted roses are as fresh and vibrant as the day the piece was first made. Antique PearlWare Rose Border oval porcelain pedestal plate circa 1800's roses
For your consideration is an antique oval pedestal plate. Marked Pearl Ware. Pearlware started being produced in 1779 and continued until around 1840. By 1820 Pearlware was in decline. I am not sure how old these dishes are. But are at least 150 years old. Pearlware was started by Staffordshire and Wedgwood later improved. I believe these are Wedgwood as they do not have the cream tint in them. They have scalloped edges and are just beautiful. Pattern is Rose Border. Signed and the number 3573 is on each one. The oval dish, measuring 9 1/2" by 9" and rises about 3" great shape. Dishes are concave, not flat plates. Beautiful white background with a pink outside and gold trim and hand painted primrose flowers on the top and bottom. Josiah Wedgwood in a response to a comment by Lady Dartmouth that she and her friends were tired ... moreof the creamware. So thee boy worked on developing a formula which used traces of cobalt to achieve a white color. It also provided a good base for bright colors. Each piece was hand painted and fired at very high temperatures. Some crazing on these, but that is to be expected on a piece this old. What a wonderful addition for any collector. Great for any entertainer to make a statement. These are very rare to find and becoming a real collectors item. Insurance is added to the shipping total. RARE 2 Color DAVENPORT CYPRUS Ironstone Black Mulberry 14" Platter Alcock Texas
Just removed from the family estate of south Texas Pioneers Sidbury Family. There is some information on the estate at the end of the listing. This is a very RARE piece of IRONSTONE from the 1850s. What makes it unique is that it is done in 2 colors. The trees and bushes have a have a blue color over the black transferware. It is glazed over so it was a factory design. Platter is 13.625 inches long by 10.5 inches across. NO nicks. Chips, hairlines, cracks, etc. but 2 corners do have rubs as shown in picture. Some of the clear glaze is off the blue that you can see when turning in the light. Has a little utensil scratching but pretty minor. Backstamped with the DAVENPORT CYPRUS design and impressed with an Anchor, the word YENPOR, possibly YENPORT, the number 1 and 8 on each side of the anchor. Sidbury(1830-1904) The builder of this house, was born in north Carolina and came with her parents to Sterling Robertson's colony before the Texas Revolution(1836) She married John Wesley Scott in 1848; they moved to Nueces county, where he died in 1867. In 1875, she was married again to builder Edward D. Sidbury. A civic leader and bank Director, Mrs. Sidbury became manager of her husband's lumber company after his death in 1881. This structure was part of the expansion resulting from the ropes boom of the early 1890's. Colonel E. H. Ropes of New Jersey planned to make Corpus Christi a deep water port. He began dredging a channel across Mustang Island but ran out of money and abandoned the project. One of two rent houses originally constructed by Mrs. Sidbury about 1893 in the bluff addition on upper north Broadway. Marked with an empressed circle stamp in a circle with the initials in the center. Some numbers. Probably a pattern number 1645 68 2060 is written on the back in gold gilt. Gold gilt lines the thick retriculated molded tab handles and decorates an embossed floral tulip and buds at each end. There is a small 1/4" beige dot in the center and overall crazing on the front side that does not go through to the back. No nick, chips, or cracks. Rare Antique Meissen Blue Onion 24" X 11" Fish Serving Platter. Reduced price. This is a wonderful large Meissen fish platter. 24 inches long by 11 inches wide. This platter is extremely rare. I have searched extensively and have not been able to find another. I have looked at this platter very closely and found a possible imperfection in the white area at one end. Looking closely at the photo you'll see a light blue half inch semi circle which appears to be under the glaze. This is very faint. The crossed swords have 2 small marks in the glaze midway from the base and a blue 2 underglaze at one end. There is also a mark in the white wear. I tried to show this mark in a photo. I am offering for sale large antique white ironstone platter that measures 15 7/8" X 11 3/8" It has no chips and no cracks. It is marked"Ironstone China J& G Meaking Hanley England" on the back. There is a slight amount of browning on one edge as shown in the last picture. The platter is not perfectly flat on the bottom and rocks back and forth when set on a flat surface. I am including an ironstone transferware pitcher which has a rose pattern. It is also marked"Ironstone China W.M.C" on the bottom. This pitcher has no chips but has some surface crazing and browning. These two unique and lovely dishes were donated to our church yard sale. They are both Oscar and Edgar Gutherz Royal Austria Porcelain China. The mark signifies that the time period that these pieces were produced was 1898-1918. Gold Handled condiment tray: Size: 8 1/4" by 4 3/4 Color: various greens and gold. Pattern: unknown; couldn't find it anywhere; it appears to be green vine berries. Condition: very good; no chips. Cracking or crazing. Small condiment dish. Size: 5 1/8' by 3 1/4" Color: green. CFH/GDM Haviland Gerard Dufraisseix Morel Limoges poppy tray 14" by 9" 1890's
I have for auction this evening a beautiful Limoges tray by CFH/GDM Haviland Gerard Dufraisseix Morel Limoges. This tray would have been made at the haviland Limoges porcelain factories and then decorated at the studios of Gerard Dufraisseix Morel in France. The piece is made of very fine porcelain in an excellent mold. The piece is beautifully and masterfully decorated with poppies in bud and full bloom and foliage that are trimmed in gold gilt. The entire outside of the tray is gilded in high carat gold and accented throughout with gold and gold dust as well. The underside is painted in a lovely color of pink to give added visual interest to the piece. This piece is artist initialed in gold on the bottom and appears to read"LJM" and looks to be dated by the painter in 1891"this is all hard to read" This will make a great ... moreaddition to your Limoges porcelain collection and will display well in any cabinet or on any table. Item dimensions and dating: All measurements are approximate. This piece measures 14" long by 9" wide and stands 1.5" tall. This piece dates from the 1890's by the mark and design elements. Condition report: This piece is in excellent antique condition with no chips. Cracks or crazing. There is age appropriate wear to the gold gilt on the rim but nothing that detracts from the overall show quality of the piece. Buyers note: The display stand is not included in this auction.
