It features figures on a riverboat and another on a horse. a dog along the river's edge. There is a community in the background with trees and foliage. This piece was produced by Wm. Ridgway& Son Co. circa 1838-1848. The mark on this platter is called"Humphrey's Clock" and is said to be based on a collection of Dicken's books called"Master Humphrey's Clock. Up for sale is this beautiful green and white transferware platter. This is an early piece dated to 1840. Produced in Stoke-on-Trent. England The pattern is Japan Flowers made by RMW& CO(Ridgway, Morely& Wear& Co) This is an extra large platter, the biggest I have seen. Measures 21 1/4' wide x 17 1/2" tall. It is in very good condition. With a hair line crack at the 9 o'clock position, about 2" long. Runs from the tip of the pagoda to the outside flower. HUGE STAFFORDSHIRE GREEN TRANSFERWARE PLATTER SEASONS - SUMMER
This auction is for a huge 14 inch by 19 inch green transferware platter in the pattern of Seasons(Summer) made by Copeland and Garrett. The condition is superb. Each corner has a cartouche depicting different scenes with putti. The central scene is a large floral urn with Summer marked on the side. There are two mermaid statues to the left of the floral urn with two women sitting there. There are arches and balustrades. Marked on the back with Copeland and Garrett. Richmond Hill. I'm adding a post script to my listing. The Transferware Collectors Club contacted me asking if they could use my photos for their database. This tells me that this is an extremely rare pattern for the Club to request to use the photos.

Antique Carey's Green Transferware Platter, England 1830's
Antique VERY rare Carey's Green Transferware Platter in Pristine condition. NO chips or cracks. All over beautiful floral pattern. Pastoral mountain and lake scene with pair of deer and people in Victorian Garb in the forefront. Scalloped Edge. Measures: 18.5 x 15.5. From the Appraiser: This platter was made in England during the 2nd quarter of the 19th century circa 1820’s and no later than 1842. I would generally place this in the late 1830's. It is referred to as an English Staffordshire– mainly for where the majority of potters who produced this form of ironstone. Or glazed earthenware were located. The decoration is transfer printed. Which is a type of hand applied print decal, and not hand painted. The makers as labeled on the mark were the‘Carey’s’ which refers to the partnership of two brothers Thomas and John Carey. They ... morewere established in 1818 and dissolved in 1842. The green transfer print color is particularly lovely and less common than blue. Black and pink transfer ware colors. Yours is from a series. Meaning there were several different views made that belonged to the same‘set' in the series. The series that your Carey's platter is part of is called“Irish Views” The pattern on your platter is a view of“The Upper Lake at Killarney” Felspar is the proprietary name that the Carey’s used for the material of this production line. Many Staffordshire potters created names for their items. Even though of same material, it was a marketing scheme to‘differentiate’ their product a bit. Felspar is a play on the word Feldspar which means‘a rock that does not contain ore’ In the big picture of Staffordshire potters. Of which there were hundreds since the late 18th through 20th centuries, the Carey’s was relatively short-lived. Having dissolved in 1842 their items are also old enough that not a lot have survived time thus not many Carey’s pieces are offered to the market. Ironstone GREEN Transferware Diamond Shaped Pitcher, ornate handle , 1800's
This pitcher has a cute shape and an ornate handle. It is green transferware with a landscape design. It is 6 3/4" tall and in a diamond shape. There is an impressed triangle in a circle on the bottom but I do not know the maker or pattern name. It has an ornate handle with black detailing that looks like a sea horse or dragon at the top. The pitcher is covered in crazing but no chips or cracks. There is a discoloration to the pitcher up to about 1/2" of the top which may be due to a liquid sitting in it. Ironstone Green Transferware Floral Scenery Platter with Well, Barker, 1800's
This meat platter is the hard to find type that is footed and has the juice well. The platter. With the pattern name, Floral Scenery, Is 17" wide by 13.5" wide and stands 2 3/4" tall. It stands on 3 feet and the bulbous well. The ironstone platter is green transferware. The floral scenery pattern features a building in the background with various floral designs, a fountain, and an urn. It also has a bird studying a butterfly. The platter is over 100 years old and shows evidence of its age. The platter has several areas of roughage around the rim with a few spots of discoloration o the front. There are some utensil marks but the glaze maintains its shine. The most damage is to the feet with two of the three feet having the part of the foot that sticks out being broken off. Lovely teal green transferware 15 1/2" by 11" RUSKIN platter. Great condition!
I'm still on step one. Folks, and I'm not going back. I am offering this wonderful RUSKIN ceramic platter. 15 1/2" by 11 1/4" in excellent condition as part of my rehab. Collectoritis is a tough one to overcome, but I am going the distance. This platter is not green transferware, but more of a teal color. I displayed it with my other green transferware and it looked fine. There are a few faint scratches in the center of the platter, but they do not really show unless closely inspected. There are no chips or cracks. It really is beautiful!

Lovely large vintage rectangular green transferware platter John Maddock & Sons
I am a bit of a collector. Which is a short step down from a hoarder. Admission is the first step, they say. I had an old china cabinet filled with green transferware. I also have one filled with red transferware and some blue transferware in a box. You get the picture. I have a few pieces of the green transferware remaining which, as a first-stepper, I am putting on Ebay. This wonderful 15" by 11" platter is one of my favorite pieces, for display and use. The green is a vibrant grass green on a creamy white background. There is gold on the edges and the pattern in the center. The gold shows a bit of wear, but it is an old piece, so to be expected. There are a few faint scratches from use, but they do not mar the beauty in any way. It would be a great addition to your collection and a big help getting me to step 2.

Albion Antiek Spode(Copeland& Garrett) Antique Green Transferware Ca. 1840- Botanical Pattern- 2 Plates This listing is for a beautiful pair of plates in the Botanical pattern by Spode in Staffordshire(England) This classic floral pattern was introduced around 1825 and was produced in different colors. These are in the green colorway(a wonderful sage green) and were made ca. 1830-40's. After the take-over by Copeland& Garrett who continued this pattern and are marked accordingly with the Copeland& Garrett"Late Spode" backstamp. Each plates measure 9-7/8" across(25 cm) and they are in exellent condition: no chips, no cracks and no repairs.
