This auction is for a 7 piece set of Antique Wm Adams& Sons Du Barry English Ironstone Brown Transferware. The set includes a 13 1/2" by 10" Platter- a 9 1/2" by 7 1/8" by 2" Serving Bowl- three 8 1/8" Plates- two 10 1/8" Plates. The plates all have considerable crazing and discoloration and two have tight hairline cracks- the platter has only minor crazing and no chips or cracks- the serving bowl has only very minor crazing and no cracks or chips.

William Adams& Sons Flow Blue Large Platter: Early 1800s The listing is for a very large octagon Platter made by William Adams& Sons in England in the early 1800's. The platter is edged with stylized blue six petaled flowers on a blue branched background. The center has a bucolic. Pleasant scene with Churches, Flora and A Man and Woman casually strolling; both seem to be in deep conversation. Another man is lying on the grass watching them. The pattern is not very sharp. There is overall crazing and browning at the center, more so on the back, than on the front. There are two hairlines and two chips at the edge, and a tiny nick. The mark on the back is also very blurry and I believe it reads Sirius. Not sure. An appraiser assured ... moreme that this was a William Adams& Sons early Mark. Between 1819& 1864 is his guesstimate. Approximate Measurements: 15-3/4 inches at longest point 12 inches at widest point 1-5/8ths inches high And weighs approximatel y 3 pounds 11 ounces without packing materials. Adams& Sons large eight sided rectangular serving platter. Wonderful floral and leaf border centered with a courtyard palace scene with people in conversation. The base is marked with a classic urn and scroll mark with“W. ADAMS& SONS COLUMBIA” The platter is in near perfect condition with no chips. Cracks or hairlines. Some minor use scratches and stains on reverse. A great large and impressive example of a harder to find pattern and maker.
