Up for auction is this large antique wash water pitcher marked on the bottom- MINTONS ROSEBERY ENGLAND in green. There are also some impressed marks alond the edge- looks like a C, a 3 within a shield, and 2 other marks that I just can't make out. This piece is generously decorated on all sides including the inside of the spout with a green transferware floral pattern. The body is ribbed. The spount, body and handle are free of any chips, cracks or dings; however, there is an old chip along the bottom edge- please see photos. There are some tiny spots where it has discolored from age. An absolute stunning original art nouveau majolica tile with a raised secessionist design of stylised plant forms.Decorated in beautiful majolica glazes in shades of pink,purple,lilac,multi shades of green and treacle. It has a moulded mark which reads"Rd No 368335(see photo) which dates the registration of the design to 1901. It measures approx 6" square.And is mounted in a copper stand,which is approx 2" tall. It is in excellent condition with no chips.Cracks or restoration,and will only extremely light surface wear,only apparent when the tile is held up and examined against light. It has clean age crazing mainly to the treacle coloured glazeand some thicker areas of the green glazes. This is a beautiful and colorful floral subject tile using white and green as main colors on a black ground. The glaze is quite glossy. It was made by Minton's China Works in Stoke-on Trent. England, between 1868-1890. These tiles are used today in remodels. As the focal tiles in fireplace surrounds, kitchen, bath and bar areas. They are also now framed up individually for wall decoration, for trivets, and on display in commercial properties- jewlery, bakery, and antique store window displays! The cherry blossoms centers contrasting with silver over gold gilding. A further embellishment to this antique treasure is the incredible butterfly. Gilded in Silver and two shades of Gold in amazing detail. Measures 10" x 9" Condition: Excellent. Without cracks or damage. The gilding is remarkably intact. One tiny pinhead spot on gilding rim is the only thing I could find. Otherwise all gilt areas are fully intact without wear or rubbing of any kind. This auction is for a Striking Set of 4 Elegant Antique Porcelain Dinner Plates made by Mintons of England and sold by the famed High-End New York City Retailer Gilman Collamore and Davis Collamore. They are in the G8465 Pattern. Which has a bold, gold encrusted and patterned edge against a bright white and glossy porcelain background. They date to the mid to late 1800s and are in very good condition especially for that age. There are no chips or cracks or repairs to any of the plates. They all have age-appropriate utensil marks that do not detract from the overall appeal of this Great Find. All the pieces has the Mintons Globe& Crown stamp and impressed mark. Two of the plates have the Gilman Collamore& Co. mark while the other two have a Davis Collamore& Co. mark. All the plates are the same matching pattern. This has an impressed underglaze mark on the base for Mintons. C.1842 A handsome teapot. Good and heavy and in wonderful condition. The transfer design is very clean and crisp, a romantic scene with figures and trees and architecture to either side of the pot. There are trailing vines and blossoms around the entire lid, the rim, the spout and the handle. Still very usable, the interior is clean, no staining anywhere. Where it was lacquered at one time& the edges were under the edges of the stand and were not lacquered. Antique Cream Soup Cup and Saucer Mintons England "Minton Rose" A4807 Antique Ch
This is a wonderful find. This Antique Mintons China's"Minton Rose" A4807 Cream Soup or Bouillon Cup and Saucer was not always a couple. The saucer was manufactured in 1890 and the Cream Soup Cup was manufactured closer to 1912. This piece is over 100 years old. They found there way together and here they are today. The pattern features floral scrolls winding through the background and natural geometric shapes in the border. This was manufactured at the onset of the Art Nouveau movement. This set is in wonderful condition with no cracks or chips. The cream soup cup is stamped with the 1912-1950 stamp and is ultra rare. The saucer is not stamped. It is impressed with mintons' T that indicates a manufacturers date of 1890. Should be in a premier spot in the showcase.

Antique Mintons J.McD & S. England Saucers Bradford C4935 Early Globe Mark
Here I have a very early set of 4 Mintons Signed Bradford saucer bowls in an unknown unique pattern. They are all in beautiful condition and free of cracks or chips! On the bottom of each are hand signed and stamped w/ markings& numbers. They are also all marked with the crown topped globe stamp! The numbers that are hand written on each are C4935 but one bowl I can't make out the number but it matches the other 3 in pattern. The stamped numbers are 11-26 on 3 bowls and 10-26 on the other. All marked J.Mc D& S Co. as well! I tried to find out more on this pattern but was unsuccessful so maybe you will have better luck! They will be wrapped with great care for shipping safely! The base of this mold is marked with an impressed mark which I believe is Mintons as well as an impressed number which I can't make out. M easurement: 3 7/8 inches across the rim and about 2 3/4 inches tall. C ondition: The ironstone is crazed and there is also faint hairline which goes round on the interior of the very top which does not show through to the outside. Otherwise very nice condition. The tile is very thick and bears the Mintons mark on the back with patterned grip lines and a printed pattern number: 2489" The back is clear of adhesive. This is a thick tile weighing over 600 grammes unpacked! Condition/ Defects: The tile is in good condition; it has crazing to the front which has some ingrained dirt. The Waverley novels were written in the early nineteenth century and dealt with historical adventure. The lives, loves, wheelings and dealings of personalities and events in British and mostly Scottish history. The unique style caught the public's imagination when they were published in the early nineteenth century and were very popular. The Waverley novels are credited with establishing the form of the historical novel. ... moreMoyr Smith produced a series of 12 tile designs for Mintons China Works based on the novels. The tiles were first made as 8" square designs(pattern number 1607) in 1878 when they were shown at the Paris Exhibition. Minton's China Works were one of some 55.000 exhibitors at the exhibition which had some 16,000,000 visitors. The 6" series is pattern number 1868 and was introduced in 1881. These are amongst the best examples of Moyr Smith's work on tiles. The detail, engraving and print quality is oustanding. The design fills the tile, twice as much for your money compared to some circular designs! The colour combination of dark brown, two greys and'gold' is striking and both printing and glazing quality are excellent. The series gets a special mention in the foreward to the 1885 catalogue: In some patterns the colours are on the glaze. But in all cases where the Tiles are exposed to much wear, such as for Hearths, c, the Enamelling Colors are UNDER THE GLAZE, and therefore practically indistructible. Mr Reynolds.
