Light edge staining that may be removed, this rare relish or bread dish may complete any set you have begun. Measures 5 x 6 7/8 inches and almost 3/4 inches deep. Antique John Maddock & Sons Royal Vitreous “Meredith” Platter (c.1880-1896)
This is a gorgeous antique John Maddock& Sons Royal Vitreous serving platter from the“Meredith” collection. The main color of the platter is white. With blue patterns around the edges. There is gold trim on the edges. Based on my research( this piece was produced between 1880 and 1896. Anything produced in 1896 or later has“Ltd. at the end of the“John Maddock& Sons” stamp) The following is stamped on the bottom of the platter: John Maddock& Sons Royal Vitreous England Meredith Rd No 252992 Also. There is a small crown marking embedded into the bottom of the platter; this is about 7/16” long. DIMENSIONS: Length: 15 1/2” Width: 12 1/2” Height(when laying flat) 1 3/4” CONDITION: There is a 1 chip on the edge. About 1/2” long and 3/16” wide. The gold trim around the edges has wear due to age; I estimate that 1/2- 2/3 of the gold(in ... moretotal) has worn away. Although this is sporadic around the edges. There are some misc. blue paint flecks on the top and bottom of the platter.

John Maddock & Sons Vitrified, Heumann Pattern Small Platter
This is a very pretty Antique Small Platter. Made by John Maddock& Sons. The platter measures 8 3/4" by 6 1/8" The platter is marked Vitrified from my understanding was from 1880-1896, and John Maddock& Sons Ltd. the Ltd. was added in 1896, which would have made this platter made in 1886, and marked England, and Heumann, which is the pattern. There is also a stamped mark which I tried to capture in the photos.There is no crazing, chips or cracks. There are a couple of flaws on the bottom that I believe were from when the platter was made, but please use the zoom feature and decide for yourself. John Maddock and Sons Large Rectangular Royal Vitreous Platter 1880-1920
John Maddock and Sons Royal Vitreous Platter from the late 19 th early 20 th century. Nice large rectangular platter measuring 15” x 10” x 1¼” high. It’s a heavy piece of ironstone weighing just over four pounds. It is in near perfect condition except the gold edge is nearly completely worn off. There are no chips. Cracks or crazing, and there are very few surface scratches considering the age of this platter. There are four glaze imperfections on each side of the platter from when it was fired(see the last 2 photos) This is a beautiful piece that would grace any ironstone collection. ef Ø Most of my items come from my mother’s estate or, in some cases. My in-law’s, as well as things that my husband& I have collected over the past 40 years. Unfortunately. My house is over-flowing and it is time to clean it out! I am determined ... morenot to dump all of MY stuff in my daughter’s lap! I am trying hard to downsize. It is a daunting task. But it has to be done! Ø I describe all items I sell very honestly and completely. I note any and all imperfections. Flaws, chips, scratches, etc. I include photos of any issues whenever possible. Ø I pack all items I sell very carefully with tissue. Newsprint, bubble wrap and/or Styrofoam wrap as well as packing peanuts. For very fragile items, I use oversized boxes and/or double boxes so that the item can be very well padded. I want you to receive the item in the same condition as when it left my home. Ø For these reasons. I do not accept returns except in extenuating circumstances and completely at my discretion. Ø With the exception of glassware, I generally do not clean any of the items I sell. This is a beautiful platter in the"Bombay" pattern by John Maddock& sons. Top to bottom11 1/2" side to side 14" in a orange/peach floral pattern with blue and green highlights. With a gadrun edge. Lovely large vintage rectangular green transferware platter John Maddock & Sons
I am a bit of a collector. Which is a short step down from a hoarder. Admission is the first step, they say. I had an old china cabinet filled with green transferware. I also have one filled with red transferware and some blue transferware in a box. You get the picture. I have a few pieces of the green transferware remaining which, as a first-stepper, I am putting on Ebay. This wonderful 15" by 11" platter is one of my favorite pieces, for display and use. The green is a vibrant grass green on a creamy white background. There is gold on the edges and the pattern in the center. The gold shows a bit of wear, but it is an old piece, so to be expected. There are a few faint scratches from use, but they do not mar the beauty in any way. It would be a great addition to your collection and a big help getting me to step 2.
