This beautiful majolica handled platter features blue lilacs and green leaves on a red background. It has a scalloped and reticulated or pierced rim. It has a high gloss and deep rich colors! I have taken many photos for you to see the beauty of this antique majolica platter. One handle has an old repair and done so well you don't even see it from the front! Offered is a lovely vintage majolica fish platter discovered on my last trip to France. It is a nice large majolica platter in the form of a fish. I have matching plates in my store. Fm629. We also have the same plates in brown from Sarreguemines in our store, fm100. This platter measures a large 21 inches long and 12 inches wide. You can clearly see the form. Face, scales and fins of the fish. This beautiful platter is in varying shades of blue with the slightest tints of green on the fins for depth of color! The back is marked but with a mark I can not make out. You can see that mark in photos 8 and 9. We do have plates in brown. Fm100, with the Sarreguemines mark, so this platter may be from a small atelier from there. It is in excellent condition for its age with no chips or cracks. Offered for your collection is this lovely and very large French master oyster platter. This one is not marked but was made by the Longchamp majolica factory in France. It features wells for 12 oysters on a green basket weave background. The interior and exterior rim is in the form of brown cord. It is a great piece with little wear. There are a few small glaze flakes on the shell edges as seen and an extra peice of clay in one shell. One shell has a few drops of brown paint that is under the glaze. Antique German Art Nouveau Majolica Floral Relief Ceramic Platter W Handles #862
Sublimely exquisite. An antique German rectangular art nouveau platter. Majolica floral relief. A handle at each end. A pale green ground with a myriad of flowers hand painted and washed on the front side. Each interior corner displays a different flower and alternates with the iconic art nouveau detailing. All washed in avocado green with still more flowers embellishing the design. The center relief is gorgeously detailed in red, orange, pink, yellow and dark green- even with the backside of a bloom. The handles' designs smoothly blend into the interior. Measures 13.5" X 8" X 1.5" There are no embellishments to the back with the exception of a rectangular base. The interior of the base is impressed 862 and with a plain triangle. The glaze on both sides is still glossy. No visible crazing. There are a few manufacturing ... moreblemishes on the back side that do not interfere whatsoever with the aesthetics or integrity of the piece. Minute traces of wear on both sides. Lovely antique display plate/platter with the Avalon Faience Balt mark. This platter is a fine example of American Majolica from the renowned Maryland pottery company in the Aesthetic Movement style. It has lovely green outlines and gold accents to a lily pattern with a lily flower in the center of the plate. The plate does have wear in both the green outline and the gold accents which would be expected from a platter of this vintage. The clear glazing does have some crazing. But there are no chips or cracks in the pottery itself. This would make a great display piece. Measures 11.25 inches across.

Beautiful Large majolica platter from the Keller& Guerin majolica factory of Saint Clement. France which is only 4 kilometers down the road from their other factory in Luneville. It has wonderful colors and features five diffrent types of fruit. Strawberries, grapes, plums, apples and cherries. It still has its original paper tag on it which would date this between 1950-1970's. It is in excellent vintage condition for its age with no chips or cracks. For sale a beautiful and unusual Antique Majolica Platter with a Begonia Leaf over Basket Weave background and it is unsigned. The platter has the label of provenance on the back and was in the Margaret Parshall collection from Armenia. NY, which was sold at auction in early 1990's, at the time this was one of the larger private collection of majolica in the U.S. This piece has very minor wear it was loved and did not get much use, as it was in a collection for many years. There are no crack or chips and the overall condition is good. There is some minor crazing a couple of small brown specks on the front surface due to age, the back is in perfect condition. I would date this piece to the later part of the 1800's. The size is 9 inches high by 13 7/8 inches long. This is a must for a collector of Antique Majolica. Stunning Primitive Antique 19th Century Victorian Majolica Platter Frogs on Leaf So. I went to the auction of a lifetime this past weekend. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! Oh. This is one of my favorites this week- and you know, I'm very seldom a fancy Victorian style lover, but this one is just drop dead gorgeous- what's not to love about the adorable frogs and that beautiful green leaf? It's an 1800s majolica pottery platter, the the shape of a large leaf in shades of deep green to light mossy green, and then there's 7 small deep gold frogs perched ... moreall over the leaf- watching for a juicy fly, I'm sure! The piece measures 11" widest, 11 1/2" deep and is 1 3/8" tall on the side of the leaf when sitting on the table. It weighs 3 1/4 lbs, so it's pretty hefty for its size. It is in excellent overall condition. There's heavy crazing that you can see when looking closely- all over, see photos 12 and 20 front/back for the close ups. There are no cracks or pottery chips that I can find. 5 of the frogs have teeeeenie glaze flicks/glaze chips or rubs in high relief spots- you really have to look to see them- I'm talking the largest being maybe 1/16" if you stretch it. I'm showing close ups; a nose tip in photo 6, nose tip, eye and eyebrow tips in photo 8, eye socket tops in photo 9. Please supersize and look at all- I think they are very minor considering the age and that the frogs are raised so off of the platter. The platter itself is in really nice shape- I cannot find any nicks or chips. Photo 18 is showing a close up of some palpable bumps on the edge in one spot- they are really small, look like clay to me(but they could be dirt, but they have the same dark color of the clay on the

I can not find any maker marks on this beautiful piece. There is a couple of slight hairline cracks that can only be seen on the underside of the piece. Also I do not see any big chips or chunks missing. Only very few minor knicks. There is areas where there is rough texture(seen in the 10th picture) This platter comes apart in 3 sections. The top where the koi fish sits and than the 2nd platter and lastly the base with the last platter. The tiers just slip into one another and that is how they sit. Up for auction is a vintage hand painted Majolica Art Pottery platter with handles that features a dog and doghouse vignette. It is painted in shades of brown and green and yellow against a white stippled background. The platter is 11" by 10 1/2" The scalloped rim is raised to 1 1/2" The vintage condition is very good with the exception of glaze pops and small inclusions. There is glaze crazing. Although unmarked. This platter is listed and described on page 31 of the second edition reference book on Majolica entitled MAJOLICA BRITISH, AMERICAN& EUROPEAN WARES by Jeffrey Snyder. Offered for your private collection is this magnificent antique piece of Palissy ware made by the prestigious majolica factory of Hyppolyte Hautin and Louis Boulenger of Choisy-le-Roi. France. The makersmark dates this piece to have been made between 1836 and 1890. However, due to the war of 1870 most of the factory was destroyed and was rebuilt in 1878 so it was made either between 1836-1870 or 1878 or 1890. In 1891 they had to put the word FRANCE on all of their wares. This three lobed platter or tray features a large lobster who is getting ready to devoure the fish it has caught in its claw. It is standing on green leaves or seaweed. It measures 14 inches wide and about 7 inches tall. It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks! Large Majolica Basketweave Two-Handled Iris Plate/Platter, 1850-1899 Cream
This beautiful two handled majolica platter measures approximately 13" from handle to handle and 11 1/2" without the handles. It features a blue iris on a light yellow background in a basket weave pattern. This is an antique majolica plate with no backstamp other than the imprinted number 220(there may be a very light 7 following the 220) and small four lobed mark. However. I have seen later examples of this pattern marked with the Zell Germany ink mark along with the imprinted number 2207 and the four lobed mark. This plate has a production flaw in the iris. A few small chips on the front and one chip on the back as shown in the photos. There are stilt marks, firing pits etc. consistent with its antique production. Most of the items I sell are from estate sales. They are previously used items. I do my best to describe any imperfections ... morebut rely on the photos to tell the whole story. I am delighted to offer this stunning antique Majolica German Hand Painted Platter. This is a Villeroy& Boch Pattern made in Schramberg. Germany in the early 1900's. The Pattern is known as"Palm Leaf and Lily of the Valley" Flowers should appear magenta/red with milky white lily of valley blossoms and dark green foliage. Back of platter is impressed with numbers 4563/1 and stamped with the Identification Mark. Handpainted Germany; number76. see photo 6-7) This is a highly collectable casting/pattern and has a large 11.5" diameter(see photo 9) From my research. The Schramberg factory was sold and passed through several other hands- thereby the mark has gone through several modifications, depending on the location and year. I am uncertain to it's true age- but I think it pre-dates 1912. It is in amazing condition- ... morewith a beautiful rich color and high gloss finish! It features 13 asparagus spears held together in a woven basket with a blue and yellow flower with green leaves on each side. It has two wells on either side for sauce. To be as old as it is. It is in excellent condition for its age. On the front there is some wear to the high points of the blue flowers and leaves. On the back there are a few edge nibbles and chips are missing from both feet, this does not make the piece unstable at all and are not seen unless you turn it over.
