John Alcock Mulberry / Black Transferware Mini Platter "Vincennes pattern"
I love this platter because it is so tiny. It is only 10 1/2" wide by 8" deep. Almost a mini platter. This platter was made in the mid 1800's in England. It is a mulberry or black transferware piece. The transfer pattern is called Vincennes and it is in varying shades of black, gray, and white. The platter is marked on the back John Alcock Cobridge, Vincennes. There is an impressed letter or number. The plate shows wear on the bottom and I can just envision it on a table during Civil war times. The plate has no cracks or chips. It has utensil marks on the front from use. There is crazing throughout. There are some areas on the rim where the glaze is rubbed off. The plate rack is not included. Feel free to email me with any questions.
