Old Antique Brown Transferware Ironstone Small Platter, T & R Boote "Lahore"
Here's an interesting very old or antique small platter we received recently with some estate items. This one is a brown transferware oval platter about 5.75 by 7 inches in dimension. This is an ironstone type piece made in England with markings"T& R Boote" as shown n the picture. Our guess is this is from somewhere in the mid to late 1800's as it has a very nice simple or somewhat primitive decorative scheme. The pattern appears to be"Lahore" The piece is nice considerate of age with some light crazing and small darkening spots at the top edge and on the underside as we show in the pictures. No chips or cracks noted. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this early or antique small serving piece low so enjoy the auction. For sale is a gorgeous large antique Ironstone platter from the 1800s.Beautiful blue and white colors.It has an oriental design to it except the women do not really look oriental so am not sure.It is like a transferware piece and the mark on the back says WRS&CO. and UNION.I do not know what company this is.It measures 17 1/2" across by 12 3/4"No chips or cracks but it has been used.There are some dark areas on the underside edge in the middle that is just from use.A couple light marks on the front-see photos but does not detract from this beautiful platter.This will have to be shipped in an oversize box and will be insured.

This is a beautiful Antique English Royal Ironstone China Copper Luster Tea Leaf Platter by Alfred Meakin. It measures approximately 13" x 9-1/4" The condition is excellent with NO chips. NO cracks, NO repairs, NO restoration and NO re-glazing. The glaze has a beautiful shine against the bright white ironstone. The well area shows only very minimal utensil marks seen only under close scrutiny when the platter is angled towards a bright light source. The backside shows both the appropriate triangular formation stilt marks along with the black transfer mark used by Alfred Meakin. Also stamped with the number 12 and 25. Still in excellent condition, some scratches on the backside, minor wear around the edge. no real damage, no chips, cracks or repairs. Lovely old. Heavy platter made in England. Called SpringTime. Perfect for Easter dinner. It is white with spring flowers-little aqua bells, maybe lily of the valley, yellow daisies, pink flowers and a gray-brown for the stems and leaves. It is 12 inches long and 8 1/2 inches high. Ironstone? The bottom is stamped"Porcelaine De Terre, John Edwards England Spring Time with a number under that. Then there is a stamped area in the dish that says"Imperial" R.L and a number. The back of the platter has little areas in the glaze, bubbles.see picture 4. The front of the platter has utensil marks and edgewear. The set includes a 13 1/2" by 10" Platter- a 9 1/2" by 7 1/8" by 2" Serving Bowl- three 8 1/8" Plates- two 10 1/8" Plates. The plates all have considerable crazing and discoloration and two have tight hairline cracks- the platter has only minor crazing and no chips or cracks- the serving bowl has only very minor crazing and no cracks or chips.

It was made in England by Alfred Meakin and is marked on the bottom with their transfer mark. see Pictures) This piece is in great condition for a Victorian piece of this useful nature. It has a wonderful square"box" shape and is trimmed in the tea leaf in the center and the copper luster on the border along the edge. Antique T. & R. Boote White Ironstone Platter, 1851 Shape, Good Condition
Offered for sale is an antique white ironstone platter. Made by T. R. Boote in the 1851 shape. This eight sided platter is in good condition for it's age. It is 1 6 1/4" long and 12 5/8" wide. There are no chips. Cracks, or any discoloration. It has been used over it's 150+ life, so there are a few very minor scratches, but the glaze is shiny and in good shape. There are a few glaze pops, but really very good condition overall. The only condition problem worth mentioning is on the edge of the platter; that you can see in the second photo. And very minor. The platter sits nice and flat on the table. You can see the impressed hallmark on the bottom of the platter in the third photo. I have a pair of these platters for sale. This large and lovely brown and white English ironstone platter was produced by Ashworth& Bros. from 1862-1890. After the firm purchased the famous Masons factory of Staffordshire. Made in the"Empress" pattern, the outer rims and center of the oblong platter are decorated with elegant scrolls and flowers. Each end of the platter has a graceful crest and each corner has a gentle pleat. The platter is substantial. Weighing over 4 pounds. It measures 16 inches long and 12 inches wide. The colors are crisp and vibrant, and there are only minimal signs of wear and age. In 1862. George L. Ashworth purchased the Masons factory in Hanley for his four sons. Antique T & R Boote Ironstone Platter England Transferware Stoneware Large
This is a gorgeous large antique platter. It measures 17" wide and 12" across.a fabulous large platter. The design shows butterflies flying near the sprig of wheat. It is a creamy color with brown decoration. The finish is still smooth and shiny and it is in excellent condition. The only fault that I can find with this platter is two small flea bite size chips on the one edge on the long side as shown in one picture. Plus it does have a little crazing but that is to be expected in a platter this old. It is not at all objectionable. The piece is an antique.it's not from Macy's china department. The bottom of this platter has two main markings. The one says Royal Premium Summer Time IV. The other is the T& R Boote mark. Antique Adams Mulberry"Bologna" 15.25" Platter Antique Adams platter made between 1820 to 1830s. This is a Mulberry Purple Platter. Made by Adams. It has the impressed"Adams" name on the back. The pattern name is"Bologna" which has a center scene of people in a gondola with stately buildings in the background, flowers, bushes and trees. The border has squiggle garlands with 8 panels of more buildings with people, and flowers. Measures 15.25" wide x 12.25" tall. This is an ironstone piece so the ware is rather thick and heavy. Condition: Made between 1820 to 1830s. Has a 4.25" crack. Has a couple of bubbles in the glaze. Has a couple of nicks, see photos. Edges have some rubbing, and some roughness on parts of the edge. Has a 2mm x 2.5mm nick on the edge also, see photo. Has some light brown ... morestaining on the front near the crack, but it's more noticeable on the back. Still a stunning display piece. I've had this piece in my display case for years. The brown staining on the front around the crack isn't distracting to the beauty of the platter. Antique Ironstone Platter w/pink flowers and vine
Presented is an ironstone platter with pink flower and grey leaf and vine design. the pink flowers have a small amount of yellow in the center and the leaves are shaded for depth. There are two rubbed places in the vine but all flowers are intact. There is a meat well of about 1/2 inch depth in the center. The platter sits on a well defined ridge and this enables it to sit 1 1/2" from the table top to the lip of the platter. There are NO cracks.NO chips,NO crazing,it looks like it came from the factory yesterday. There is one dark kiln mark on the back the sloped portion. I cannot determine the maker but know it was before 1860 when country of origin was required on items. The mark is dark green initials in arounded corner square B.S. with the N or M under the first two.

Just gorgeous antique Davenport large platter in the Cyprus pattern. The color is black or Mulberry or some perople call it flow black I think. Excellent condition. No chips or repairs that I can see. No discoloration or crazing. There is one?glaze pop which is tiny and I have photographed it(see last photo) but I am mentioning this for accuracy as it is barely noticeable. I had this platter hung on my wall and it is quite heavy. So I ordered a special heavy duty hanger which is currently on the platter which I am happy to include, or I can easily remove it if the buyer prefers. Striking Antique Ironstone Polychrome Platter & 2 Plates Francis Morley "Zamara"
This auction is for a Striking 3-Piece Grouping of Polychrome Ironstone pieces- a platter and two plates- made by Francis Morley of England in the mid 1800s. They are in the company's striking Zamara pattern. Which is an intricate Victorial Scroll and Floral design in deep blue with hand coloring in green and yellow and red applied under the glaze. This Grouping Displays Wonderfully together. The grouping consists of: A 8-sided platter. 15 1/4 inches long by about 12 inches wide. A 12-sided plate. 9 1/4 inches across. A 12 sides plate. 8 1/4 inches across. These pieces were made by Francis Morley in the mid 1800s. They are in very good condition especially for that age. There are no chips or cracks in any of the pieces. The platter has fine. Even crazing and some discoloration on the face and a small glaze bubble on the face(see last ... morephoto) The larger plate has a small glaze bubble on the face(photo 11) and fine even crazing. The smaller plate is evenly toned throughout and has fine. Even crazing. Individual pieces in this pattern are very hard to come by. Making a grouping like this exceptional. Superb Large Antique Ironstone Polychrome Platter Peonies Marked England 17x14"
This auction is for a Striking& Large Antique Ironstone Polychrome Platter that was made in England in the 1800s or early 1900s. It measures an impressive 17 1/4 inches by 14 inches. It is Beautifully decorated with flowers. Including Peonies, that are Hand Colored under glaze. It has a scalloped edge that is embossed. The border design has floral groups separated by lattice work. The platter is highly marked on the back but I am not certain of its exact manufacturer. It was made in England. Likely in the late 1800s or early 1900s by one of the potteries in the Staffordshire or Burslem region of Britain. The platter has several marks. Including two impressed marks(a 10 over a 05 and a four triangle in a round pattern mark) and hand written numbers in red(I think P9 2812 and the number 7 below it) and a green backstamp(I can't decipher ... morethe manufacturer) and a mark England. The platter is in very good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks. There are some rub marks on the edge and the underside.
