The platter is nicely hand painted with a man wearing a feathered turban. He is holding a spear and wearing a long sword. This is really a work of art. The painting is signed E. Maximes in the five oclock position. It was made between 1860 and the 1880s. The platter is stamped on the reverse with. Granit, Medaille dOr, HB, Choisy-le-Roi. The condition is excellent. The platter has some very minor crazing. But this is only noticeable on the back of the platter. The platter still has a very fine ring when wrapped with a knuckle. This listing is for a vintage oval serving platter manufactured in Austria by Victoria China. The pattern is unknown to me. But this scalloped platter has beautiful yellow, green, and grey sprays surrounded with gold highlights on the embossed handles. The piece came from a local estate sale that featured numerous fine china collectibles. The piece is in excellent shape with no chips. Scratches, cracks, or crazing. The pattern and gold shows only minor wear, although there are two very small dark blemishes and one larger one on the face of the platter. They are not immediately or readily noticable, but can be seen in the pictures. I would personally classify the piece to be in"Excellent" condition. This platter is about 9-1/4" long, 6-3/8" across, and about 1-1/4" high at the rim. It is simply decorated with narrow green lines with four swags spaced equidistantly around the rim. Charles Edward Haviland & Co. - 20-inch Serving Platter
This listing is for an antique(Charles Edward) Haviland& Co. extra large limoges oval serving platter manufactured in Limoges. France. This beautiful scalloped and embossed platter measures a huge 20 1/4 inches long and is in superior condition. The pattern is a pink floral with generous gold highlights on the long ends which show only minimal rubbing or wearing and are still strong. I was able to date the piece to around 1895 because of the H&Co over"L" green backstamp. The number B18 is incised into the bottom as can be seen in the last picture. The platter is in superior condition with no cracks. Chips, crazing, or noticable scratches. The pattern and gold are very strong and the glaze still shines beautifully. There is a very small flea bite that's original to the piece in the embossed perimeter, but it's not ... morereadily noticable and only shows as a small dark spot. Over all. I would personally say that this piece is between"Excellent" and"Like New" condition and the piece shows extremely well. The platter measures 20 1/4 inches long and it's about 13 1/2 inches wide. Beautiful and elegant. L arge oval platter from Losal Ware. The mark on the back side says Keeling& CO Ltd. Cote Mayers, England Patent Applied For. The mark indicates the age from 1912-1936. It is an off-white with Emerald green or a dark apple green and gold design along the edges. It has some scratches on it, some fading in the colors, and crazing. But there are no cracks. The piece features 3 all hand painted scenes of birds in metallic gold gilt paint. And the scalloped, flourished embossed edges are also accented in gold gilt. There is some wear to the gold on the handle and a few other places but as you can hopefully see in the photos, this is a gorgeous piece. It's in very nice condition with no chips, cracks or breaks. It's approx. 11.5" at its widest and 2.5" tall to the lip and 4" tall to the top of the handle. I purchased this at an estate auction and am uncertain of its age but believe it to be several decades old. Royal Doulton- Josephine (1902-1922)- 17.5-inch Platter
This listing is for what I believe is an extremely rare and antique Royal Doulton china large oval serving platter manufactured in England in the original"Josephine" pattern. This is the older version of the pattern with an embossed perimeter. Scalloped edges, and gold banding. The backstamp dates this piece from between 1902 and 1922. In addition to the backstamp, there is a mark stamped into the porcelain, but I was unable to read it(I think it says"Doulton" through the middle of it) This piece was acquired by me at a local antique auction and I believe it is my most exciting find in 3 years of attending auctions and estate sales. I was unable to find any other pieces of this older pattern anywhere on the web and this is the biggest platter of all measuring a huge 17 1/2 inches long and over 14 inches wide. The platter ... moreis in excellent condition for its age with only minimal loss of pattern and no chips. Cracks, or crazing that I can see. There is a moderate loss of the gold banding around the platter that I tried to show in the pictures. There are a few minor nicks in the rim and the fifth picture shows what I thought was the worst one. But it looks like it is probably an original imperfection on the piece. There are some flea bites in the glaze on the face of the platter and a uneven feel to the glaze in the center of the face of the platter that are both original to the piece. The pictures of the back of the platter show a few brown spots which are raised pieces of porcelain including one where the backstamp is. These are original to the piece, too. Even with the above points. This platter looks fantastic for its age. The blue color is strong and the glaze still shines beautifully with only minor surface scratches on the face of the platter that are hardly noticable. I am proud to currently display this piece in my personal china cabinet and would still personally classify this piece in"Excellent" condition. The platters measure 19" 16.5" 14" 12" and a 9.5" pickle tray(49. 42,36, 30, 24cm) Circa 1890. All are in excellent condition considering the age. They may have never been used. But. The 12" platter has a smooth chip on the foot(see pic) rim. In addition there is some minimal wear to the gold trim on the sides of the 12" and 16" platter. This may have been caused from standing on display. But it is unusual that the other three are perfect. This stunning piece was made ca. 1840 and measures 18-1/2" long and 14" wide. This platter is transfer printed in brown in the British Flowers pattern. Condition is perfect: no chips. Bro Germany 3" Porcelain Tile Tray c. 1920's When Delftware became popular at the turn of the century(Early 1900's) many European companies created more economical and mass marketed Porcelain products mimicking this Dutch style however the images were stenciled not hand-painted. The G.M.T. company was in operation in France. Germany, Austria and in New York City and were primarily exporters of porcelain decorative goods.
