Early ENGLISH? Soft Paste Porcelain FRUIT STAND-Hand Painted Flowers-Small Mark
For sale is an early English? porcelain fruit stand with hand painted decoration and gilding. The piece is 9 ¼ inches in diameter and about 2 5/8 inches tall. The top has a dark blue center with gilt highlights. A handpainted floral cavetto and a molded and gilt border. The foot is similarly decorated with gilding. The piece has a heavy white porcelain body exposed on the flat foot. It bears a faint number“1280” in gold inside the rim. I do not know the maker, but I guess it to be from the first half of the 19th Century Condition on the stand is good. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs. There is some minor wear to the decoration and a spiral scratch on the blue area as shown. A good early piece of porcelain. I accept most forms of payment; please contact me for details. RARE ANTIQUE 18C BOW CHELSEA OCTAGONAL SOFT PASTE PLATTER KAKIEMON 2 QUAIL

Please be sure to check out our other listings as there are sure to be some great deals. This listing is for a rare soft paste platter dating to the late 18th century. The platter measures just over 13 inches in length and is 9.25 inches across. It is simply beautifully decorated in the Kakiemon style with iron red. Blue and green enamels. It has what is called a 2 Quail pattern with one of the birds done in red and the other in blue with ... morea bright green patch on its wing. The birds are surrounded by blooming flowers and trees which are subtly accented with gilt. The border has a continuous pattern of meandering red flowers interspersed with single gilt flowers throughout. We believe this piece to most likely be either made by Bow or Chelsea, two well known English manufacturers who were known to derive their designs from Chinese or Japanese porcelain styles. The platter does show some wear to the enamels consistent with its age. There is a small flake to the underside of the that rim has been repaired and shows a faint hairline. It still displays wonderfully and is a rare and beautiful soft paste example. Questions: All questions and requests for additional photos must be asked PRIOR to bidding on an item. In addition.
