Mountain ... moreand river motif. Then to the most extraordinary portion on a matte glazed neutral background there are 3 sprays of flowers and foliage in glazes on white lavender pale orange. The foliage is done in cobalt and white glaze and three multi color butterflies- all amid waves of dots of glaze in 3 shades of blue. There are accents of gold glaze. There is a hairline fracture on one corner that has been mended and then very cleverly hidden with decorative design. This is a very well done and very old repair as shown in picture# 9 10 11. It measures 16" x 12" x 1 1/4" The following is what i found about the makers. Please read. Koransha and Fukagawa Seiji Fukagawa is a family. A brand name, a place and nowadays a porcelain factory in the Arita region. Its history goes back to the seventeenth century. Fukagawa is thus a part but not all of Arita. Its history starts with Ezaiemon Fukagawa who in 1856 became head of his family's porcelain business and in 1875 founded Koransha(The Company of the Scented Orchid) in Arita. Japan, to produce tableware for export. In 1894 the modern Fukagawa company was founded by Chuji Fukagawa. With the Fukagawa trade mark of Mount Fuji and a stream, as its trade mark. In the Paris International Exposition in 1900 Chuji Fukagawa won the medaille d'or with a large Flower Vase. Among many famous artists Kinsaku Ide. Shape designer, and the sculptor Toshi Ninomiya could be noted as having taken part in producing the Paris Expo 1900 prize-winning vase. Similarities in style with Hirado can be seen in some of the early(late Meiji period) Fukagawa pieces. But the Iro-nabeshima style(decoration in enamels such as the Ko-Imari style) is more common. The platter is beautifully hand painted with a man holding a sword. The painting is signed JB. For the painter, in the six oclock position. It was made between 1860 and the 1880s. Antique Porcelain Fish Platter - Hand Painted & Signed - Z.S. & Co. Bavaria
Z.S. Co. Also known as Zeh, Scherzer& Co. was founded in 1880. My understanding of the mark on the back of the plate, from people who know far more of these things than I do, is that the green version of the mark, dates the plate between 1880 and 1918. This plate bears the green version of the mark. Additionally, according to Porcelain Marks of the World by Emanuel Poche. Item 505 of that book shows the exact mark that appears on this plate and says, REHAU, Zeh, Scherzer& Co. after 1880/ printed. Generally. When these pieces were hand painted, the artist would sign. This signed piece is signed on the front. Lower right side(my photos are a bit hard to see, but see the photos where the seashell is, the signature is below that) and I can make out"W. Mauss- the last three letters could possibly be"ner" or aek" but ... moreI cannot absolutely tell you those last three letters- need better glasses! And on the back of the piece, the initials"W.M. are hand painted under the Bavaria marking. Cabbage roses plates and little pink flower plates are abundant. This is very hard to find. I have seen only a few listings for fish dinner plates and only once have I ever seen a platter similar to this one- in a very upscale antique shop- also hand painted so not exactly this one. As I would assume each artist does his/her own thing. The rim is done in a gold border and shows only slight wear on one end, otherwise the gold is quite intact. The"under the sea" motif can be seen in the photos. The size is very unusual as well. The platter measures approximately 22 5/8" long by approximately 9 3/4" from top to bottom and stands approximately 1 7/8" from the table top to the rim. There are no chips. No cracks and it appears except for the tiny wearing of the gold on one end of the rim previously mentioned, to have perhaps never been used except for display. Absolutely fabulous piece of porcelain.

Colors and execution lead me to believe that this plate is probably from the Art Nouveau period(1890-1910) I think it is most likely a German piece. The platter is in excellent antique condition. It looks as though it has hardly been used. The raised gold decoration in the center has slight to no wear- there is a little bit of age wear to the gold trim along the very edge of the plate. Large High Quality Antique Hand Painted Oval Porcelain Platter
This high quality antique hand painted platter is in the Limoges style. It is 14 1/2" long and 10 1/2" tall in an oval shape with scalloped style curves around the border of the platter. The hand painted design is in deep cobalt blue with gold leaf and floral motiff. The platter is in excellent shape with no chips or cracks. We are still in the process of auctioning the contents from our grandmother's attic and found this beautiful. Hand-painted porcelain(or ceramic) 14-1/2 x 10-1/2" fish platter which is signed in gold'Harriett's' and dated 10/6/60 on the back. The platter has the molded impression of the fish- eyes, scales, mouth, fins and tail. The pictures cannot pick up these detailed impressions adequately. Although I am not an expert, it appears that the beautiful floral and leaf pattern was added on top of the white glazed finish as it is rough to the touch. It reminds me of tole painting. The paint appears to be in perfect condition and I don't see any fading or loss. This platter was either used for display purposes only or very carefully handled and washed. The platter is rimmed in gold trim- probably 18 to 24K- with only very ... moreminor wear. The picture of the rim appears to have more wear than I actually noticed. This is an Amazing Antique Porcelain Footed Serving Platter Dish. The dish is an early piece of Count Thun Hand Painted Porcelain. The subject is a Pheonix among the flowers. It has an impressed“TK” 21” 11” and“19” Per Collectorscircle.com the piece dates between 1830– 1895 and was produced in Austria. It was beautifully maintained and retains most of its hand painted color with some loss to the gilt around the handles. There are no chips. Cracks, or crazing. It is in lovely condition. There are two small factory stretch marks on the platter(see pictures) The dish is 13” across. 8 ¾” wide, and 1 ¾” deep. It was acquired from an Antiques Estate Auction.

Here is a great antique hand painted charger/ platter. found at an estate sale along the Ohio River Valley. The porcelain was produced around 1898 by Fraureuth Porcelains Factory AG. Fraureuth, Saxony, Germany. The platter is hand painted and signed on the back by the artist. It is very nicely done. Back in the late 1800's and early 1900's companies like Pickard. Stouffer, and other companies would buy china blanks and paint/decorate them. You don't find much in hand painted china in these days of mass produced items, and this one is one that you will be proud to own and display. Note the beautiful flower border. And the rich gold trim. There are no chips or cracks on this fine porcelain piece. This great porcelain piece measures approx. 12 1/2" inches in diameter. It is decorated with various size sprays of flowers and has a molded scroll like embossed edge around three quarters of the outer rim. It's really a nice piece and is in great shape. Double band gold trim large spray of pansies in center surrounded by 4 sprays of assorted wildflowers: morning glory. Dog rose, etc. The tray is 18" by 12" and 1 1/2" deep with flat bottom. So even suitable a small tea or vanity tray. Excellent paint. No chips, cracks, crazing, stains, no noted surface scratches. There is gold sear on one edge especially, so must have been in one position for many years. ANTIQUE (Victorian?) PORCELAIN 21" Fish Platter Blue/White w/Gold Hand Painted
For your consideration. A lovely antique platter from an estate that features a hungry fish swimming after a baited hook. In vivid shades of cobalt blue and white, with delicate hand painted gold filagree trim along the sides, this serving platter measures approximately 21"L and 9" at its widest. The fish appears to be moving through the water. There are no visible maker's marks on the bottom. There is crazing present, which is to be expected given its age. There is also a small white oval spot where it appears that glazing did not originally cover, near the far left top of the platter(see photo) Some of the gold at the very edge of the platter is worn, but the piece is intact with wonderful color, detail and presentation. This is a beautiful Porcelain. Pedestal, Hand Painted, Candy Dish. The hand painted roses has been done very well as you can see in the photos. There are no scratches and virtually no wear on the paint. On the bottom there are 2 arrows that criss-cross each other for a makers mark but I do not know who it is that has that mark. This stunning 13" platter was made in Limoges. France. It has beautifully hand painted dark and light pink and yellow roses with a rich hunter green background that mutes into soft peach and pale yellow cream at the center. The slightly scalloped rim is gilded gold. The condition is excellent. No chips. Cracks or crazing. Some of the gold around the outer rim has rubbed off from handling over the years.
