This dish has raised sides and a flat bottom– the edges are crimped with gold trim; there is wear to the gold trimmed rim. Measuring 20 ½” in length 8 ¾” wide in excellent antique condition. No chips cracks or repairs. I have not found any utensil or scratches either. Makers Mark Limoges France in Green. Mark 5 underglaze factory mark, after 1891. Ther are two embossed marks the number 18 and one that may be an initial, I cannot tell for certain. As stated in Debby DuBay’s Antique Trader Limoges Price Guide‘Eating during the Victorian Era was an elaborate event. Courses were served one right after another on plates specifically designed for the type of food being served. Fish platters were over 22 inches long to allow for all types of fish from cod to salmon to be elegantly serve. This piece is circa 1900’s and exhibits elements of the Victorian and Art Nouveau era and is remarkably reminiscent of Limoges style of the period. I have plates that I will be listing. No marks other than a 10 imprinted on each side on the bottom (please look at the red arrows). If you happen to know more about this and care to pass it along I would appreciate it. As you can see there are some blemishes in the silver. The larger spot seems to be where I presume the clear coat came off as it’s a bit shinier. I mostly polished the upper and did not attempt to clean the bottom.

It is an estate piece that I purchased from an area home along with some other fine pieces that I will be posting. You'll note the young fish swimming right below the back fin.I didn't notice it when I bought the platter. There is an incised"4" mark that many times is indicative of the earlier pieces.it is quite heavy(6 lbs plus) Most of the thin gilt on the edges has worn off over time. Antique Porcelain Fish Platter - Hand Painted & Signed - Z.S. & Co. Bavaria
Z.S. Co. Also known as Zeh, Scherzer& Co. was founded in 1880. My understanding of the mark on the back of the plate, from people who know far more of these things than I do, is that the green version of the mark, dates the plate between 1880 and 1918. This plate bears the green version of the mark. Additionally, according to Porcelain Marks of the World by Emanuel Poche. Item 505 of that book shows the exact mark that appears on this plate and says, REHAU, Zeh, Scherzer& Co. after 1880/ printed. Generally. When these pieces were hand painted, the artist would sign. This signed piece is signed on the front. Lower right side(my photos are a bit hard to see, but see the photos where the seashell is, the signature is below that) and I can make out"W. Mauss- the last three letters could possibly be"ner" or aek" but ... moreI cannot absolutely tell you those last three letters- need better glasses! And on the back of the piece, the initials"W.M. are hand painted under the Bavaria marking. Cabbage roses plates and little pink flower plates are abundant. This is very hard to find. I have seen only a few listings for fish dinner plates and only once have I ever seen a platter similar to this one- in a very upscale antique shop- also hand painted so not exactly this one. As I would assume each artist does his/her own thing. The rim is done in a gold border and shows only slight wear on one end, otherwise the gold is quite intact. The"under the sea" motif can be seen in the photos. The size is very unusual as well. The platter measures approximately 22 5/8" long by approximately 9 3/4" from top to bottom and stands approximately 1 7/8" from the table top to the rim. There are no chips. No cracks and it appears except for the tiny wearing of the gold on one end of the rim previously mentioned, to have perhaps never been used except for display. Rare Antique Meissen Blue Onion 24" X 11" Fish Serving Platter. Reduced price. This is a wonderful large Meissen fish platter. 24 inches long by 11 inches wide. This platter is extremely rare. I have searched extensively and have not been able to find another. I have looked at this platter very closely and found a possible imperfection in the white area at one end. Looking closely at the photo you'll see a light blue half inch semi circle which appears to be under the glaze. This is very faint. The crossed swords have 2 small marks in the glaze midway from the base and a blue 2 underglaze at one end. There is also a manufacturer mark in the white wear. I tried to show this mark in a photo. ANTIQUE BROWN TRANSFERWARE DOULTON'S KUDOS PLATTER 13 1/2" FISH & DRAGONFLIES
A 13 1/2" wide X 10 1/2" tall Doulton brown transferware platter that is a pond scene with a fish in the water eyeing a couple of dragonflies. The platter is in excellent condition. No cracks anywhere with just some slightly rough edges, nothing bad. The platter has five separate signatures on the bottom with the boldest in lettering that reads DOULTON'S KUDOS. The others are pretty much stamped into the surface, one reads 12-86, one is an O shape with four dots around it, an actual seal and a smaller square shaped indentation. The piece of early suface tape just identifies the platter as a former owner's"fish platter" It's really in great condition and the scene is wonderful. Antique Sterling China Co. Large Serving Fish Platter
This stunning platter was manufactured in the mid to late 1890’s. The transfer ware image of a pike was used by other china manufactures before and after Crown. The glaze is almost like Lusterware with a pearlescent shimmer. This could have been intended or as a result of aging. The platter is edged in 22k gold with a hand painted inner rim of moss green with gold decorative overlay. Personally I would not use this platter for everyday use but you certainly could. It would make a beautiful parlor plate or wall decoration.

Up for bid today we have a trio of vintage ironstone plates. Larger serving platter has a bass on it with a fly in it's mouth and measures 17 3/4' x 12 1/2" and has minor wear from years of service. Both of the other plates are 9 3/4" in diameter. One depicts a brook trout after a fly and the other a bass with a fly. All three plates have some minor wear but together are a terrific trio! Pretty good condition for age. Has typical crazing and some brownish discoloration. The reddish spots you see on the backside look like older paper residue. Will come off. There are three tight hairlines. One is in the centre of backside but it does not show through to front side. Up for your consideration is an antique set of Fish Plates by Haas& Czjzek out of Czechoslovakia. This stamped mark on the bottom of the large tray was used from 1867- 1888. This porcelain factory was founded in 1792 by Johann Georg Paulus. Johann Poschl, and Johann Reumann, and was the first operational Porcelain factory in Bohemia. In 1830 August Haas joined the company, and in 1867 Johann Czjzek, became a partner. Platter is 11 and a half inches wide and 15 and a half inches long. Plates are nine and a half inches. The miracle is that most of the gold trim is still on and none of them are chipped. These are transferware two of the plates have the same transfer design but they're just not put on exactly in the same place. These are not porcelain. They are ceramic though.

This early 1800s SIGNED antique solid copper and brass hand hammered and tooled covered fish serving platter is an amazing and rare find. It's condition is pretty rough(or primitive even) But its elegance is unmistakable! Made before a tin lining was recognized as a safety precaution, it has a pair of lovely sand cast brass handles on the platter, as well as an elaborate sand cast brass handle on the lid. Both the lid and the serving platter have repousse features; a series of"beads" all around the rim of the platter, and an interestingly patterned backdrop for the brass handle on the lid. Antique Mark& Gutherz Carlsbad Fish Platter. Measures 24 inches long and 9.5 inches wide. My research dates this plate to possibly be the late 1800's. This is HUGE and so lovely in the delicate Austrian style artwork. This piece would be gorgeous hung over a dining room door due to the length to show off when not in use. It is a fabulous serving dish for your salmon or seafood entrees. There is lovely gold trim around the edges and the ends of the plate. Rare Antique Fish Set- Platter Covered Tureen Boat 12 Plates- Proeschold& Co. I'm pleased to offer this extremely rare set of china. Each adorned with beautiful depictions of fish, many with vivid expressions. Included are a large platter, a covered tureen, a gravy or sauce boat, and 12 plates. The maker is Epiag. Proeschold& Co. of Czechoslovakia. Dalovice Factory, and the mark is 1920- 1945, prior to Nazi Occupation. For more, please check out this link: http:www.collectorscircle.com/bohemian/porcelain/mark. Each piece is marked with what I believe would be the family's last name. It could also be a designer's name but I would go with the owner's who must have been wealthy because this would have been an expensive set. These are transfers but I think there is some minor accenting on some of the pieces, mostly around ... morethe head, gills, and fins. I have provided many photos for you to look at. Please contact me with any questions. The platter is huge and measures 24.75 inches x 10.25 inches. Just light scratching from use. The tureen measures about 5 inches high to the top of the handle and 3 inches high to the top of the rim. It is 11.5 inches between the handles and 9 by 6 1/8 inches on the top rim. It is very clean and does not look like it was used much. There are 2 small spots of surface wear on the lid that may have been touched up. I can't tell if it was done in the factory. Note: the mark on the tureen does not have the"Epiag. The sauce or gravy boat is attached to the plate. It measures almost 3 inches to the top of the rim and about 3.75 inches to the top of the handle. The plate measures 8 by 5.5 inches. The boat is clean and in excellent shape. There are twelve plates that measure 8.5 inches in diameter. They are in excellent shape with just a couple of edge flea bites and possibly a few minor scratches. It is more a Piece of Art than a platter and Displays Wonderfully. It measures 23 1/2 inches across. 11 1/4 inches wide, and stands 1 1/2 inches tall. This platter came out of a farm mansion house in my family that was built by the Borden Family where they produced sweetened condensed milk. My father was raised on this farm and remembers this platter on the table as a child. There is a mark on the bottom. It looks like a seahorse but it is very faint. There is some crazing on the back side of the platter but none on the front. There is a small chip in the underside at the end of the platter. I really know nothing about the platter other then it has been in our family for years. I am only selling it to help pay for my daughters university bill.

Eight 9 1/2" plates and a gravy boat. All ten pieces are artist signed; the plates are all signed by the same artist; Dubuis" The platter is signed with what appears to be. Pubais" and the gravy boat is signed. Mak" T he hand painted decor on every piece of this fish set is lifelike and detailed in beautiful shades of green. Peach, tan, and brown. The double green marks on all of the pieces of this outstanding Limoges fish set consist of the George Borgfeldt Co. Coronet Mark. Which includes an overglaze green crown mark with, CORONET. Ca. 1906-20, and the distinctive star mark ... moreof the Coiffe factory. The fish platter has the Coiffe Mark 2 which is an underglaze white ware mark in green with. FRANCE" after 1891-1914. All of the other pieces of the fish set are marked with the Coiffe Mark 3- which is the same as Mark 2 except that it has"LIMOGES" above the star. It dates from the same time period.
