It gained its greatest popularity during the mid-nineteenth century. The heavy. Durable, off-white pottery was made in white or was decorated with any of hundreds of patterns Snakes. Seals, rabbits, and dogs to unicorns, griffins, dragons, deer, and lions were used on pottery and porcelain in Europe from the 19th century ... moreto present. One of these marks that is confusing. The British Royal Arms, an oval shield divided into quadrants and flanked by a lion and a unicorn, was in use from 1801 to 1837. From 1801 to 1814, the shield had a cap over it. This auction is for a 15" x 10" serving tray manufactured by the Trenton Pottery Co. in Trenton. New Jersey during the period of 1875- 1880 when this hallmark was used by Isaac Davis, who owned and operated this company during this period. Not too many pieces are found with this hallmark. So I'm hoping that a few serious collectors of these pieces see this auction as I'm auctioning this item with no reserve. This is a listing for an antique English Willow platter.With the usual iconic colors of the willow the deep blue and white.This Ironstone platter is in very good condition for its age.There is crazing but only one chip on the back of the plate where the layer has worn away,not a chip as you can see in picture 7.And this item seems to be different from others offered as it is more round in shape and the handle shaping is evident at the sides.The scene is the ancient Chinese village,as is shown on most Willow plates The plate is stamped on the back with the name Willow,R.Midwinter-Burslem,England.The platter measures 9 1/2" x 9 1/4" Great example of Willow and Ironstone pottery and a great collectible item

Antique CHARLES MEAKIN England Royal Ironstone China pottery white tray
Antique white ironstone tray(butter dish or soap dish? made in the late 1800's Very nice condition for its age! Measures 9 inches long by 5 inches wide Marked ROYAL IRONSTONE CHINA with the stamp of the lion. Crown and unicorn, with CHARLES MEAKIN ENGLAND under it. This printed mark was used on the earliest pottery made at the Burslem Works location. From 1870 to 1882. There are a few expected minor anomalies(on the underside) inherent with hand-made pottery. The inside is quite clean. Close inspection reveals very minor scratches on the bottom from use over 130 years ago. The glazing on the exterior is very nice There are no chips.

Offering a beautiful large antique flow blue turkey platter. It is 18.5" long. Very good condition with no chips. There is a fine hairline crack that I tried to photograph with no success. 1899-1902 Antique Crescent Pottery 18" White Ironstone Platter
What a grand and heavy quality platter. Made by the Crescent Pottery Co. from Trenton. N.J. It does have some light crazing which is expected from American ironstone of this age. One chip that measures 1mm. There are no cracks or stains. Some light utensil scratches from use. The dark marks on the back are the mold breaks marks and a back stamp ink smudge which is under the glaze. Many more great years of use left or keep as a fine example of antique American ironstone pottery.

Empire Pottery Ironstone China A& M white platter Size: 12.5" x 9" Antique(see below) Back of platter has couple of'dimple' markings. Edge wear on one side Black mark on bottom is identified by quote below with identical marking noted: Empire Pottery Trenton NJ was established by Messers. Coxon& Thompson in 1863. About 1884 it passed into the hands of Mssers. Alphaugh& Magowan. Whose products were thin porcelain, dinner, tea and toilet wares, decorated wares, principally in white granite body. They also made plumbers' earthenware. One of the earliest marks used by the latter firm was the British Coat of Arms, which was placed on all their general ware. from Marks of American Potters by Barber, p. 63 Paypal only.
