Offered is a very beautiful antique majolica footed pedestal compote comport platter made by the Faist majolica factory in Schrambeerg. German between 1820-1882. This factory was founded in 1820 by Isidor Faist who sold it to Villeroy& Boch in 1883. The impressed starburst makersmark belonged to Faist. This beautiful antique compote tazza features three overlapping leaves and berries or grapes with dazziling fall colors. The foot and leg are also quite ornate with berries or grapes and leaves on a twisted vine trunk. This wonderful antique footed platter measures 8.25 inches in diameter and stands 5.5 inches tall. The circular bottom base measures 4.25 inches wide. It is in excellent condition for its great age with no chips. Cracks or repairs! Offered is this fabulous and hard to find antique German majolica platter made by the famous Villeroy& Boch majolica factory in Schramberg. Germany circa 1882-1891. This beautiful majolica handled platter features blue lilacs and green leaves on a red background. It has a scalloped and reticulated or pierced rim. It has a high gloss and deep rich colors! I have taken many photos for you to see the beauty of this antique majolica platter. One handle has an old repair and done so well you don't even see it from the front! It also has a small glaze flake on the rim edge and a few on the back rim. The back has 3 small kiln marks from where it was fired. This is all normal for antique majolica. Antique German Art Nouveau Majolica Floral Relief Ceramic Platter W Handles #862
Sublimely exquisite. An antique German rectangular art nouveau platter. Majolica floral relief. A handle at each end. A pale green ground with a myriad of flowers hand painted and washed on the front side. Each interior corner displays a different flower and alternates with the iconic art nouveau detailing. All washed in avocado green with still more flowers embellishing the design. The center relief is gorgeously detailed in red, orange, pink, yellow and dark green- even with the backside of a bloom. The handles' designs smoothly blend into the interior. Measures 13.5" X 8" X 1.5" There are no embellishments to the back with the exception of a rectangular base. The interior of the base is impressed 862 and with a plain triangle. The glaze on both sides is still glossy. No visible crazing. There are a few manufacturing ... moreblemishes on the back side that do not interfere whatsoever with the aesthetics or integrity of the piece. Minute traces of wear on both sides. Antique German Majolica Napkin & Greek Key Compote , gm594
Offered is a beautiful antique German majolica comport or compote made before the McKinley Tariff Act of 1891 which required the name of the country of origin to be marked on all pottery ceramic items. This beautiful compote is marked only with an impressed"30" in the clay. It was hard to photo but I did my best. This compote features a large greek key border on the top and on the foot. The folded napkin also continues on the foot. On the napkin is a tree branch with fruit and leaves. Just beautiful! It measures 9 inches in diameter and stands almost 5 inches tall. A very handsome piece! It is in excellent condition for its age with no chips or cracks! There are stilt marks from being fired in the kiln on the outside of the bowl. A few rough spots in the glaze. Antique German Villeroy & Boch Platter Majolica Palm Leaf & Lily of Valley Teal
I am delighted to offer this stunning antique Majolica German Hand Painted Platter. This is a Villeroy& Boch Pattern made in Schramberg. Germany in the early 1900's. The Pattern is known as"Palm Leaf and Lily of the Valley" Flowers should appear magenta/red with milky white lily of valley blossoms and dark green foliage. Back of platter is impressed with numbers 4563/1 and stamped with the Identification Mark. Handpainted Germany; number76. see photo 6-7) This is a highly collectable casting/pattern and has a large 11.5" diameter(see photo 9) From my research. The Schramberg factory was sold and passed through several other hands- thereby the mark has gone through several modifications, depending on the location and year. I am uncertain to it's true age- but I think it pre-dates 1912. It is in amazing condition- ... morewith a beautiful rich color and high gloss finish!
