This is a rare find indeed! A large Thomas Elsmore& Son fluted bowl in a bone pearl white color. The inside bottom has 3 marks and I'm not sure if these are imperfections or not. Also. When viewing the piece thru a magnifying glass there is what appears to be a repaired chip measuring 1/4 inch. Please see pictures before bidding. The piece measures 8 3/4 inches by 3 inches. This Ironstone China Basin Bowl was manufactured by by Thomas Elsmore& Sons in Tunstall England between 1872 and 1887. The bowl measures 14" in diameter and 5" high. The bowl shows obvious signs of its 125-year old plus age. The bowl has hairline fractures and crazing and scratches from many years of use. Short small estate utensil scratches that are not readily noticeable unless you hold in the light to find them. I find 2 bubble pops on edge or mold marks which are not unattractive or bad at all. Marked at the bottom: PARISIAN GRANITE THOMAS ELSMORE& SONS-ENGLAND" in brown color. Along with the Registration Mark and impressed"PG" Aestetic Oriental pattern tranferware in brown color. Platter is in very good used condition with sign of wear from normal use throught the years. As: some wear on edges from handling, some surface wear from utensils, some normal wear on bottom, one penpoint spot on glaze near the leaf design( probably from manufacture, appears unglazed, but not sure.Please see last photo for detail on this spot) Overall is a a nice antique platter.
