Lovely old. Heavy platter made in England. Called SpringTime. Perfect for Easter dinner. It is white with spring flowers-little aqua bells, maybe lily of the valley, yellow daisies, pink flowers and a gray-brown for the stems and leaves. It is 12 inches long and 8 1/2 inches high. Ironstone? The bottom is stamped"Porcelaine De Terre, John Edwards England Spring Time with a number under that. Then there is a stamped area in the dish that says"Imperial" R.L and a number. The back of the platter has little areas in the glaze, bubbles.see picture 4. The front of the platter has utensil marks and edgewear. John Edwards - England - 16 3/4-inch Serving Platter
This listing is for an antique John Edwards Ironstone large oval serving platter manufactured in England. The backstamp is featured in the second picture. I believe this piece is almost or over 100 years old. The platter is pure white and is in excellent condition for its age with minimal utensil scratches and no chips. Cracks, or crazing. However. There are numerous spots on the face of the platter and more on the back of it that appear to be like blisters or welts in the porcelain with a flea bite in the ceneter of each of them. They appear to be original defects, but there are many of them. They can be best seen in the second picture. I really don't know what caused them or how to describe them better. If it weren't for the blisters or welts. I would personally classify the platter in"Excellent" condition. Because of ... morethe imperfections, I'm forced to say the condition is"Very Good" The platter measures about 16 3/4 inches across and is about 12 inches wide.
