This platter is large and heavy. It is a beautiful Mulberry or Black transferware pattern. There are lots of reflections in the pictures due to the shiny glaze. The color flows to the back of the platter putting it in the category of flow mulberry. It is 17" wide by 14" deep. This platter was made in the mid 1800's in England. It is marked Walker and was made in England. The platter shows wear on the bottom and I can just envision it on a table during Civil war times. The plate has no cracks. It has one chip on the rim that can only be seen from the back. It has utensil marks on the front from use. There is crazing throughout. this platter weighs over 6 pounds! 16" Podmore Walker Flow Mulberry / Black Transferware Platter " Corean pattern"
This platter has very thick and shiny glaze. There are lots of reflections in the pictures due to the shiny glaze. It also has dark rich Flow Mulberry. The color flows to the back of the platter putting it in the category of flow blue or flow mulberry. It is 16" wide by 12" deep. This platter was made in the mid 1800's in England. The platter is marked on the back Podmore Corean and is made by Podmore Walker in England. The platter shows wear on the bottom and I can just envision it on a table during Civil war times. The plate has no cracks or chips. It has utensil marks on the front from use. There is crazing throughout. There is one area by a stilt mark that has several tiny glaze pops that show the white underneath. I have provided a photo of this. The plate rack is not included. Antique 18" x 14" serving platter by Davenport in the Cyprus pattern. The pattern is very dark mulberry and appears almost black. The platter is in great condition having no chips or cracks. Absolutely Striking! 13" by 10" This platter shows some condition issues which are represented in the pictures above. A bit of pitting/ flea bites to the face of the platter One chip to the underside of the rim with a hairline crack of about 2" running out from it. The chip cannot be seen from the front. Hill not even Petra Williams books list this pattern nor does the TCC have it listed to show just how rare this pattern is to find. The Hill book list maker as M.U this platter only has an M on the back besides the pattern Mark which could indicate Maddock as the M initial has been used by I can not definitively list who the marker of this pattern. Offered is this gorgeous Flow Mulberry Ironstone Platter. This piece is an octagon shape and features a floral or rose pattern. The outer edge is outlined by a dark outer band and a narrow inner line. It has five floral groupings on the top side. This platter is not marked with the maker's name. Only a#11. This pattern was produced by Thomas Walker in Tunstall, England circa 1845-1851. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. And minimal wear. This auction is for a Striking and Large Antique Flow Mulberry Northern Pike Fish Platter made by Wedgwood& Co. of England. With its massive size and great detailing. It is more a Piece of Art than a platter and Displays Wonderfully. It measures 23 1/2 inches across. 11 1/4 inches wide, and stands 1 1/2 inches tall. Please take some time to review the photos and appreciate all the details from the large Northern Pike. With its ferocious teeth, swimming among grasses and other fish at the center, to a great border design featuring other fish, shells, leaves and flowers. The piece is in Remarkable Condition. Especially given its age. There are no chips or cracks or damage. There are not even any utensil marks. The colors(a dark flow blue or Mulberry) and designs are vivid throughout. This is a beautiful example of flow mulberry in one of the most collectible patterns- Washington Vase by Podmore Walker& Co. This platter measures 13 3/4" x 10 1/2" x 1 1/4" It is in excellent condition. With no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no staining. There is minimal wear to the back(platters generally have scratches on their backs from sliding over tables in use) There is also minimal use scratches on the front. There are the standard stilt marks from the kiln(see my photo) This is one of my most favorite sizes of platter- it is so useful for dinners& parties and this piece is just beautiful with the most gorgeous deep color.
