7 pieces- Vintage European porcelain oval tray& 6 round coasters with silver metal reticulated rim. The painted design is still bright. The tray has no damage. 2 of the coasters have damage. One has a hairline crack(see photo) The other has a yellow stain on it, probably as the underside has been chipped(see photo) All pieces are ink stamped, 944. The tray has faint numbering on it. Unknown maker. Meaures approx: Oval tray = 8-1/4" x 4-3/4" x 1-3/8" tall. Handles are 2" tall. Antique Porcelain round tray& 6 round coasters with silver-plate metal rim. The vivid Pansy painted pattern with the white porcelain background are lovely and in very good condition. The porcelain was made in Germany. 1913. The silver-plate rim was made in New York by Sternauware. Dimensions are approximate: Tray: 8-1/4" dis. x 1-3/8 ht. Coasters: 3-1/2" dia. x 3/4" ht. c1910 German Arts & Crafts Porcelain and Metal Tray & 2 Coasters, Dutch Children
ARTS AND CRAFTS STYLE TRAY AND TWO COASTERS WITH CHARMING DUTCH CHILDREN Germany. Porcelain and unknown(non-ferrous) metal; c. 1913. Dimensions of tray: Height: 1 inch and Diameter: 9.5 inches. Dimensions of coasters: Height: nearly 1 inch, and Diameter: 3.75 inches. Marks: in ink Germany and 6081. There are other impressed marks including SN 1913 and what appears to be St F C in an circle. Also a 7 N mark on a coaster. Condition: On the tray. There is a tiny chip(about 1/8" x 1/16" on the edge of the porcelain near the rim and two inperfections in the transfer decoration on the children under the glaze. There are few tiny spots of corrosion on the rim. On the reverse, there are some small areas of staining and the reverse of the porcelain chip is visible. On the coasters, both have a couple of small imperfections in the decoration ... moreand the occasional little scratch or tiny stain. This tray features a happy scene of a Dutch boy and girl dancing together. They are surrounded by an arts and crafts style flower and laurel wreath. Antique Sternauware Porcelain Serving Tray & Coasters~Nickel Plated Rim~Peaches
This auction is for an Antique Sternauware Tray with 4 Matching Coasters. The Tray is decorated with a cluster of peaches. Accented with leaves and branches. Each coaster has an individual peach with a branch and leaves. I’m much better with flowers than fruit and we have been having a debate over the fruit. Could these be oranges/nectarines/apples/apricots? If you know email me ~ perhaps we can have a contest of Name That Fruit! They are overall in extremely good condition for their age(see below) There were most likely 6 coasters. It is hard to find a set with all 6 coasters(although I have one in a separate listing) From time to time. Extra coasters come up on ebay so it is not impossible. Estate and Garage Sales along with Flea Markets and Antique Malls would also be a good place to locate extra should you desire them. The Master Tray ... moremeasures 9 1/2" in diameter x 7/8” tall. The Coasters measure 3” in diameter x 5/8” tall. All have a nickel plated reticulated rim surrounding the porcelain china inserts and the rims still have good sheen with very little corrosion. The master tray and coasters are marked“Sternauware NY” on the bottom of the rims. It is clearly visible in the pictures however without a magnifying glass. It is difficult to find on the coasters. The German Made china tiles have vibrant coloring as well as luster. The top of the tray has one small area(about the size of a dime) near the rim that has darkened and seems to correspond with a dark area on the bottom where there is some slight rim corrosion. There are no issues I can find with the tops of three of the coasters. One coaster has a fleabite on the top at the edge of the rim. There are a few dimples on the underneath of the porcelain tray which undoubtedly is manufacturing. There is small nick and in another area. A small amount of corrosion which has created a small dark spot on the underneath of the tile insert. There also is a couple of tiny. Tiny scratches and when I say tiny, maybe 1/16” to 1/8” each on the underside. Two co
