Antique Lindner Brown Transfer Ware Platter, Chinese Scene, 13” Inches, Bavaria
This is a beautiful large platter made by Lindner& Co in Bavaria. It is brown transfer ware and depicts Chinese scenes and flowers. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks but has crazing of the glaze on the back and a tiny bit on the front where the light tan color background is. It has a thick sort of feel to it and is in an octagon shape. It is 10.25” inches by 13.5” inches and about 1.25” inches tall. Shipping and handling $15 in US. $60 international. Rare Polychrome Brown Transfer Ship Platter
Offered is a wonderful brown polychrome platter with a maritime motif. There is no makers mark. It is definitely very old. It measures 14 1/2" by 12" and a deep well, 1 1/2" It is in terrific condition, no cracks or chips. There is a lot of crazing which is slightly darker in areas(especially on the upper left side) which can be seen in the pictures. Antique Serving Platter brown transferware Marked on back"Kenilworth H Alcock& co Cobridge England" and it has another stamp/logo impressed into the back. this measures 14.5" long by 10.75" wide. This is over 130 yrs old. The patent on this piece dates back to 1884 for this manufacturer. It does have wear since it is this old, this is common wear due to age that most pieces acquire over the years. There is a few small stain areas and a chip on the front rim. the back has more stains around the heavily crazed areas. This is very sturdy though and has no structural issues. it was made thick and made to last which is why it is this old today and not in pieces. please see pictures above of exact item to avoid any problems. The pattern features a fantastic wide, busy band of Japanese cartouches and alternating geometric flourishes with butterflies and flowers. Large roses cover the band.
